Chapter 1 - Bad Luck

"Leonardo Anderson, you have been proven guilty of stealing an A-Class Monster egg belonging to Margaret Harvey and causing damage to that egg. In accordance with Miss Harvey's demand, you are required to surrender your Beast Tamer Class to her and serve one year in prison!"

Tok!

The frail old judge struck his gavel, staring at Leonardo without mercy before standing up and leaving.

The black-haired young man could not cry. His face showed despair, which slowly twisted into hatred as he looked at the young blonde woman sitting with her legs crossed, not even glancing at him.

"Boy, move!" A large man yanked his arm roughly.

He was handcuffed and dragged away without care.

Instead of prison, he was taken to Neptune Star Hospital, the only hospital capable of performing Class Transplant Surgery in City Z.

Once his Class was taken, he would return to being an ordinary human without abilities.

Beast Tamer was one of the rare Classes, capable of binding newly born monsters, removing their wild nature, and raising them into intelligent beings.

The best part was that a Monster's abilities could even be transferred to their owner.

But for the poor, becoming a Beast Tamer was never that simple.

Even without interference from the rich who coveted the Class, obtaining a worthy monster hatchling was extremely difficult.

The price was high, and worst of all, it was monopolized by the wealthy.

At present, Leonardo only had one ordinary animal as his monster.

After continuously refusing to sell his Beast Tamer Class, Leonardo eventually became a theft suspect. He didn't even fully understand how he had become one.

Upon arriving at Neptune Star Hospital, he was escorted by around ten officers, as if he were a dangerous criminal.

He was taken to the highest floor, into a VIP room where both his hands and feet were shackled.

Even his abdomen was tightly strapped down.

Only then was he left alone.

But only for a short while. A young doctor entered by himself.

"I have to say you're lucky, boy… Miss Harvey paid generously to ensure you receive an injection of one bottle of Life Liquid Essence. That way, you can avoid permanent disability after the surgery. You should thank her later," the doctor said while showing a syringe filled with green liquid.

With a faint smile, he injected it into Leonardo's neck, making his eyes widen from the pain.

But it lasted only a moment.

As the green liquid entered his body, he instead felt incredibly refreshed.

The doctor said nothing more and left, leaving Leonardo completely alone.

The room had no windows, and the door was sealed with steel. There was no possible way to escape.

It was over. Perhaps tomorrow morning the surgery would begin, and once it was done, prison would be waiting for him.

"I shouldn't have been so stubborn. Why didn't I sell my Class earlier? Maybe I would have become an ordinary human forever, but I would have had enough money to live without working."

Leonardo was filled with regret.

All his determination and dreams meant nothing anymore.

So what if he had awakened a rare Class? Before he became truly strong, he was nothing more than a toy for the wealthy.

DING!

(Congratulations, you have become the host of the Beast Tamer System, a system that grants you the ability to add one talent or skill every day to your monster!)

(System is reading statistics from your Statistic Chip!)

[Class: Non Class]

[Level: 0]

[EXP: 0/100]

[Talent: None]

[Skill: None]

(Please add the talent or skill you desire to your Monster, you may write it with your mind!)

Leonardo, "…"

'What the hell is this?'

He couldn't believe what was happening.

Talents and Skills were the two things that determined a monster's strength and how humans defined their Class.

For monsters, both talent and skill were completely innate from birth, so how could they possibly be added?

Yet the System seemed to invade his mind directly, displaying a screen that showed his data.

Leonardo did not think it was nonsense.

He saw hope.

(Teleportation, the best teleportation that can carry people away!)

Leonardo did not hesitate to write it with his mind.

If the owl could teleport, it could enter this hospital and take him away.

No, that wouldn't be necessary. After all, the owl was not even Level 1, so how could it use the skill unless he gave it a buff?

But Leonardo could borrow the skill to use it himself.

DING!

(An SS Class Skill, Supreme Spatial Shift, has been added to Ellie!)

(Supreme Spatial Shift: is the ultimate teleportation skill that not only allows its user to teleport, but can also teleport anything within range of the space connection even without touching it!)

(As an ordinary animal that received an SS Class Skill, Ellie's physique is still too ordinary to be categorized as an SS Class Monster, but with that skill, she is worthy of being considered S Class... Add an SS Class Talent to officially make her an SS Class Monster!)

[Monster List:]

[Name: Ellie]

[Type: Owl]

[Class: S Class]

[Level: 0]

[EXP: 0/100]

[Talent: None]

[Skill:]

- Supreme Spatial Shift (SS Class Skill)

"Real!"

Leonardo's eyes widened. He checked the statistics from his Statistic Chip as well, (a device that functions like the System to manage everything related to Awakeners,) and the results were exactly the same. The owl had truly gained a skill.

(Boss, boss, what happened to me? I suddenly have a skill?)

In his mind, Leonardo heard the shocked voice of a young girl.

As a Beast Tamer, he could naturally communicate with his monster through thoughts.

(Why are you asking me?) Leonardo asked back.

(Because I felt something coming from you that then became this skill...) the owl replied.

(Alright, don't talk about that now. I'm busy!)

Leonardo didn't want to continue speaking because he was focused on escaping.

'Power Resonance, activate!'

With that single thought, his eyes faintly emitted light.

Power Resonance was what Beast Tamers used to utilize their monsters' abilities.

The higher it was, the more abilities could be used at the same time.

Right now, his Power Resonance was only one, so he could only use one ability from his monster, who also only had one ability.

DING!

(You can use Supreme Spatial Shift (SS Class Skill) from Ellie!)

A notification appeared from both the System and his Statistic Chip.

It was his first experience, but everything became instantly clear to him.

The skill gave him a connection with the surrounding space.

Maintaining the skill required stamina, connecting and observing space required intelligence, and teleporting required Mana.

With the amount of Mana he currently had, he could teleport once within a distance of ten meters.

It was a surprising distance considering his Mana was barely a drop.

If he teleported only one meter, then he would only need 0,01 Mana.

Whoosh!

Leonardo did not hesitate. He teleported one meter, freeing himself from the restraints that had bound him.

In an instant, he appeared beside the hospital bed—

standing.
