Chapter 8 - Chapter Eight — Tomes of Infinity

Boredom, I realized, was a dangerous thing. It could kill worlds if left unchecked—but for someone like me, it was an opportunity.

So, I wrote.

Not one book. Not a few. Several volumes. Magical theory, practical applications, battlefield tactics, spells refined across countless realities. Fate universe magecraft laid bare for anyone with the energy to wield it. Harry Potter magic—transfigurations, enchantments, charms, ancient rites—recast for sorcerers who had the dimensional energy to manipulate them.

I placed the tomes carefully in Kamar-Taj's library.

The monks stared at them, eyes wide as if the books themselves might bite. I smiled faintly. Yes. That's the right amount of awe.

"These books," I said, my voice casual yet layered with the weight of centuries, "are merely… suggestions."

Fate magecraft required high internal magical energy. Only the most disciplined sorcerers could connect to the raw, unrefined power I had condensed from that universe. Harry Potter magic could be manipulated using dimensional energy—less intuitive, but infinitely more versatile for those who understood the concept.

I waved a hand. A subtle shimmer passed over the shelves. The books adapted themselves to the sorcerer reading them, identifying potential, weaving in lessons tailored to their magical capacity.

The monks exchanged glances.

"Merlin," one of the older masters murmured, "this… this is unprecedented."

I chuckled softly. "Yes. It's intended to be."

I thought briefly about the multiverse beyond. Mephisto, Dormammu, other dimension lords—they would learn of these tomes soon enough. Young, reckless sorcerers using this knowledge could make even seasoned demons reconsider their plans. It was a gift. And a warning.

Every spell, every tactic, every nugget of knowledge in these books had been cross-referenced with my eidetic memory. Nothing was forgotten. Nothing misrepresented. And everything… was dangerous.

I leaned back, floating lazily above the library floor, my tea cup in hand. I took a sip, letting the warmth settle. A small smile tugged at my lips.

Perhaps some of these sorcerers would become powerful enough to rival me. Perhaps some would even challenge me. That would be… amusing.

But for now? These tomes were enough. Tools to prepare Earth, Kamar-Taj, and the next generation of magic-wielders for whatever chaos the multiverse would send. Demons, dark witches, dimensional lords—all of them would find that humanity was no longer defenseless.

I sipped again, letting the books hover around me.

Yes. This was… fun.

Even boredom could be productive when you were Merlin.
