Chapter 3 - Spatial Pouch

After a moment, she came out holding a small pouch.

"Here. This is a Spatial Pouch with one hundred cubic meters of storage space. Inside is your Epic-grade Mage set," she said.

Leon took the pouch and poured a bit of mana into the magic circle engraved on it.

The next instant, his consciousness connected to the space inside.

He looked inside it and found the famous Crimson Mage Set he have seen many times on advertisement. It consisted of Hat, gloves, robe, boots, ring, bracelet, staff, and orb.

There were also two skill books.

They were Fire Arrow and Lightning Spear.

"This whole set is your reward," Luna said when she saw Leon staring at her in shock.

I thought she would just give me a few items, but I actually got a full set, he thought, still amazed as he looked at the powerful equipment inside the pouch.

He could use it until Level 120, which made it incredibly strong beginner battle gear.

"Also, as you know, if you get an S-rank or higher evaluation in the Tower Tutorial, you can raise the potential of your class by one rank. So work hard. Only challenge the Tower after you've mastered your current skills," she advised.

Leon nodded seriously. He had already planned to do exactly that.

After all, class ranks made a huge difference. For example a F rank only gains one stat point each level up while a E rank, a rank above gains two points per level up and this goes on with D gaining three, C gaining Four and so on.

Awakening a Lowere rank really means you are weaker. Fortunately, the Tower rewarded talent and hard work. Anyone could change their fate by completing the tutorial with excellent results.

I should master my skills first, Leon thought as he returned to class.

After some time other students also returned to class, Leon looked at them as some were happy, some sad and few were outright crying as they walked in teary face.

"Leon, you son of a bitch, did you awaken an S-rank class!" Suddenly somone grabbed him shaking him hard as she asked.

Leon looked at the tomboyish girl, Mary, as she leaned closer.

"No, I have only awakened a F-rank class," he replied stopping her.

"Huh? Don't mess around. I know you have awakened a powerful class there is no need to lie to me." she asked, poking his head.

Why does girls of this world like poking people's heads so much? Leon thought, feeling slightly annoyed as he gently pushed her hand away.

"No, but I do have an S-rank Talent," he said.

"Oh! No wonder. I got a B-rank Knight class and a D-rank Talent," she said proudly.

Leon congratulated her.

"I wanted to be a mage, though," she sighed sitting on her seat.

"And I wanted the Knight class yet here we are" Leon shrugged.

She nodded, then grinned. "But let's form a team. We'll make a great one."

Leon smiled and nodded.

"So, when will you challenge the Tower?" Mary asked.

Leon fell into thought.

Aside from dungeon exploration, most people first challenged the Tower. The Tower was like an endless world—each floor felt like a completely new realm. But climbing it wasn't easy. You had to clear each floor and win in order to move to the next one.

Every ten floors had a qualification test. Those tests were the most important because they determined the potential rank upgrade of your class.

The very first tutorial test was also a qualification test. Only if someone passed it could they enter the first floor of the Tower. If they failed, they couldn't enter. And each person only had three chances in their entire life.

So everyone took it very seriously.

"I'll go after honing my skills first," Leon said.

Mary nodded. "I was planning to do that too."

"Why don't we go to dungeon after Academy to test our skills?" She asked.

Leon nodded as he said" Hmm, thats an good idead, lets do that."

"Okay then, we will go to the nearest Kobold dungeon, its the perfect place to test our skills" She said as Leon nodded once again.

They continued to discuss more about their class and skills when their Homeroom teacher arrived. The moment she walked in the class everyone fell silent.

"First of all, congratulations to everyone on your awakening," she said with a smile. Some students looked proud, while others seemed depressed.

"Remember, awakening a lower-rank class is not the end. Thanks to Sir Mike, we now know that one can raise their class rank by getting an S-rank or higher rating in the Tower tutorial," she said, glancing at the discouraged students.

"So all you need to do is work hard," she added.

"Is that really possible?" one student asked.

"I was a D-rank Druid, yet now I am an S-rank Druid. I am the perfect example of hard work defying fate," she said. Many of the depressed students began to look more energetic.

Haah, don't you guys learn such examples in history class? And it's common nowadays with all kinds of equipment available on the market, she thought, but didn't say it out loud.

"Now, all of you know whats comes next. First, master your current skills. Only then should you attempt the Tower Tutorial. After awakening, you have exactly one year before you can no longer challenge it, so take your time," she said. The students nodded seriously.

"As for the Inter-Academy competition that happens annually and is in three months, only those who have reached atleast Floor 11 of the Tower can participate in it"

"But don't get tempted by it and challenge the Tower recklessly. Only challenge the Tower when you truly feel ready. If you're not prepared, forget about the competition. Compared to your future, it means nothing," she said firmly.

Everyone nodded again.

"That will be all. You may leave and return after three months," she finished.

The students began leaving the classroom one by one.

"Should we go to the dungeon right away?" Mary asked.

Leon shook his head. "Let's go home first and inform our parents about our awakening."
