Chapter 12 - First Accomodation (2)

[Congratulations on completing the second cleaning task.]

[Reward: Unlocking Basic Cabin]

Hiring Mr. Bear and his team was the right choice. It was money well spent!

Isla Lane quickly checked the reward, which was the Basic Cabin. The number of basic cabins she could build at the moment was 10. To increase the limit, the system said she needed to complete the rental task first.

[You have enough space for a Basic Cabin. Would you like to build the Basic Cabin?]

"Let me think. Which direction should I build the basic cabins?" Isla Lane spent a lot of time and thought on the future layout of the city. If she poorly planned it, the city could become chaotic—for example, no one would want their homes near a noisy factory.

Taking the safe zone she lived in in her previous world as a reference, she finally decided to place the basic cabins in the west.

She planned to allocate the utilities and service zone to the east.

The south could be designated for small planting beds, a future farm, public parks, or an orchard.

The north, where the main docking area would be, could be converted into a commercial and mixed-use zone where she would build a shopping district, restaurants, hotels, and a ferry terminal.

The center should be designated for civic essential buildings like a hospital, police station, and so on.

After finalizing everything, she dragged the basic cabin icons to the west, 50 meters from her raft. After all, she wanted some privacy and peace too.

Besides doing this, she also rearranged the placement of her greenhouse to the south, five meters from the cabin.

The same construction noises entered her ears, continuing for two minutes.

When the 10 cabins were placed, one-meter-wide wooden platforms connecting the basic cabins to the Main Raft resurfaced as well.

Each cabin had a space of 4.5 by 4.5 meters. Opening the door, Isla could see the basic layout.

The basic cabin was separated into two rooms: the living room and the bedroom. The living room had a small kitchen area with a sink and a small electric stove.

Next to it was a small wooden table and a single chair.

The bedroom space was smaller compared to hers, but the two shared the same layout. The bed came with a pillow and a blanket. There was a small cabinet to store clothes and belongings, and a bathroom with a toilet and a small space to shower.

Water and electricity were provided, and it cost 5 F-Class cores per day to live there.

"Well, that's conscientious. I thought for a basic cabin, the furniture wouldn't be provided."

[The furniture for each building is provided, but the quantity and type are fixed unless it is upgraded.]

Isla nodded. She remembered there were still a Milling Station and a Noodle Shop in her unclaimed rewards.

[Do you like to build the Milling Station?]

[Do you like to build the Noodle Shop?]

"Build! Build!" Isla Lane dragged the Noodle Shop next to her store and the Milling Station to the far right of the small greenhouse.

Isla pushed opened the wooden door of the Milling Station and stepped inside. Just like in the small greenhouse, instead of manual switches, a translucent holographic screen flickered to life in front of the mill as it detected her presence. Options appeared neatly in mid air: Grind Wheat, Fineness level, Packaging Size, Quantity, Start Production.

She tapped on the floating interface, selecting fine flour and one-kilogram packaging. The moment she confirmed, the raw wheat in her inventory was automatically deducted, materialized in the mill, and funneled into the hopper.

Soon, soft white flour flowed out of the outlet chute below, dispensing directly into thick paper bags positioned neatly by the automated arm. Each bag filled to the exact measurement before and sealing itself with a clean fold on top. One after the another, the paper packages slid onto the wooden counter, warm and freshly milled.

Isla swiped the holographic screen to end the process. A small satisfied smile forming her lips as she looked at the orderly row of paper bags.

"Can we sell this flour too? If so, how much cores per bag?"

[You can. Each 1kg cost 3 F-Class cores.]

Isla grinned and decided to sell this flour to Bear and his team later.

Grumble—

She had been occupied and she hadn't notice the time, she left the small store and went to the Noodle Shop.

Honestly, she was not expecting to eat noodles so soon. She thought it would take a month or even months for the wheat to grow.

Four hours had passed. Bear and his team managed to clear 350 meters!

They were planning to take a short break on the Main Raft before traveling back to the base, but they didn't expect to see that the raft had expanded wider. There was a new store next to the small store selling bread, the glass-roof building had been relocated with an added small wooden house, and there were ten more little wooden houses stood in the west.

In just a short time, the changes were huge!

As Bear and his team went closer, the appearance of the new shop became clearer.

Pal, who was the most 'foodie' among them, exclaimed in surprise, "Is that a Noodle Shop?"

At this time, Miss Lane was also in the new shop facing a display counter. She had a bowl on a tray in her left hand and a pair of tongs in her right hand and seemed to be in the middle of picking something.

The moment their boats docked near the Main Raft, they left the boats and hurriedly strode toward the Noodle Shop, approaching Miss Lane.

(A/N: I don't know if the pacing is too slow.)
