Chapter 8 - Now as a Guest.

It's been almost a week since Manmayi experienced her life changing life adventure which was more like a nightmare, a creep breaking into her apartment.

Those moments actually made her become more titled to the gods.

The very next day after that incident, she went on shopping for safety measures.

She spend somewhat a fortune.

The pepper sprays, taser, extra locks for her doors, and at least a small idol of her favorite god.

She found a Thai shop, which sold different types of idols, she quickly grabbed a small idol of a baby Krishna and proceeded.

And right now, she's getting ready to attend the interview that was postponed.

"You can do this!" She encouraged herself before stepping out the bedroom.

"Keys, Money, Files...oh wait! Kanna!" She was all prepared, took everything that's needed but nope, she forgot to tell her Kanna.

She ran back to her bedroom to find her precious Krishna idol resting in the morning sun peacefully.

She smiled.

She treated her idol as her all in one, bestie x brother x protector.

She prayed for a couple of minutes, more like loose talked with her best friend about her worries and left.

On the same thread of time, YongEul examined all the artefacts.

"I think we can head back. Now that all the work here is practically done." YongEul spoke after a long thought.

"Yes sir!" Mr. Choi replied, going through the CEO's schedule.

"I want to talk to Manager Kang, I want to make sure that everything is prepared." YongEul once again spoke.

Mr. Choi nodded while walking.

"Wait-" YongEul suddenly halted his steps.

He saw a crowd in front of the conference hall.

"Why are these people here?" He enquired.

"They are here for the interview." Mr. Choi replied.

"OH" YongEul breathed.

But his mind worked faster.

He remembered why Manmayi was there in the museum that day.

A smile crept on his face.

More like a smirk.

A deadly smirk.

"You know what? I changed my mind. Cancel everything." YongEul's smirk was now clearly visible to anyone who manages to look at his face.

"What?" Mr. Choi was flabbergasted at his change of plans.

"I think I should personally pick the staffs myself" YongEul smiled.

Mr. Choi stood there without a clue.

"You know, for a safety!" YongEul grabbed Mr. Choi's shoulders and gave them a couple of playful pats.

"Thank you!" The lady expressed before leaving.

"We will inform you about the hiring." YongEul bowed slightly as he watched the woman leave.

"No. 8!" He called out.

Manmayi entered the room with the same amount of anxiety and excitement.

She bowed at the person before taking a glance.

As soon as she looked, she saw a man with a mocking smile.

Her eyes widened.

It was him.

The man who tried to break into her apartment a week ago.

"YOU!" She yelled.

He laughed, more like mocking her.

he again let out a dramatic villain-y laugh before speaking.

"Yes! Me!!" The creepy smile never left his face.

He wanted to call the cops and complain that she tried to steal one of the history pieces, so that she knows what he went through.

But his heart chose to go easy on her.

"So you do remember me!" YongEul asked in disbelief.

"How can I forget the creep that broke into my apartment?" She replied, matching his energy.

"As I said, I didn't try to break into your apartment!" He rolled his eyes.

"Yes! You didn't just try, you actually managed to break in!" Her words crossed his annoyance meter.

"What is wrong with you? If I wanted to do things you assume I want to do, you wouldn't be alive right now! But here you are alive and perfectly well, I assume?" He was right.

She thought for a moment.

"Look Manmayi, I am sincerely sorry about that day. When I saw you, I thought you were dangerously familiar. That is the only reason I showed up at your door. I just wanted to know if we met before. But it is clear now that we never met before." He said leaning back in his chair.

His words came clear.

She analyzed each and every word that he spat and it indeed had genuine sincerity.

Communication is the key.

His sudden apology made her speechless.

She breathed, wondering if she did something wrong.

Well, he did mentioned that he was never there to harm her.

Suddenly a tint of guilt found it's way to her heart.

But she let her brain take over and thought about how anyone in that situation would do that.

Now that she convinced herself that she is not at fault here.

She gathered enough courage to look up in defense.

He was already looking at her, hand on his jaw.

His gaze was piercing and when her doe eyes shot up, it found its way naturally to his deadly gaze.

Damn! His eyes were pretty attractive.

Deadly attractive.

Dominating.

Piercing.

But soft?

She hated how he is not looking away and directly staring at her.

She hated the fact she found his stare godly attractive and how his presence suddenly made her feel safe.

Safe?

"We both are at fault here! You showing up at my door looking like you're going to kill me was terrifying and for your information, I'm living alone in a country in which I don't know a single soul is let alone terrifying!" She finally chose to break both the silence and the eye contact.

He sighed.

"And that's why I apologized." He spoke in defense.

"Well, now that we are on the same page, Why are you here?" He asked looking at the file in his hands.

''Oh! I'm here for the interview for the curator assistant. And from my calculations, you are my interviewer?"

"Well, I'm also called the CEO of this company but yes right now I am your interviewer."

Her eyes widened.

He was the CEO.

She called the cops on her ultimate boss.

The amount of embarrassment on her face was unimaginable.

"Thank you and we will inform you about the hirings!" He said while handing her files back.

She bowed for the last time and left the room.

The moment she left the room, he went back to his original schedule.

"No.8 is hired!" YongEul spoke walking towards his car, fixing his attire.
