That was a pity. The war simulation had been fun.
Alfred gave me a meaningful look.
"Were your strategies and tactics from the Game?"
Since Alfred had already learned about this from Aki, I had no reason to keep up the facade.
"Yes," I replied.
"Make sense." Alfred smirked, then exited the room. The maids bowed as they sent him off.
I wondered what those maids would do, having listened and watched the entire lecture. Were they really that trustworthy?
Eh. Only time would tell.

Although Alfred had left, Lenitia and Lia huddled at the war table, still discussing strategies and game rules. They were hooked.
I couldn't blame them. Alfred had rigged the table, turning it into some kind of AI. The chess pieces followed our instructions but within a set of rules. Battle results depended on our orders, terrain, weather, external influences, and random variables.
