Chapter 54 - Chapter 30: Return of… Honokage?

**Tokyo – Luxury Hotel Suite, Early Morning**

The first gentle rays of morning sunlight filtered through the half-drawn curtains, bathing the spacious suite in a soft, golden glow that felt like a warm embrace after the chaos of the previous days. The air carried the faint, comforting scent of fresh linen, citrus hotel soap, and the sweet remnants of last night's mochi and chocolate cake. Outside, Tokyo was slowly waking up — distant train announcements, the soft chime of bicycle bells, the low hum of early commuters — but inside the room, time felt slower, safer, kinder.

Astra stirred first. His silver eyes blinked open slowly, still heavy with the deep sleep only a tired 10-year-old could manage. He stretched his small arms with a big yawn, then rolled out of bed and padded barefoot across the soft carpet to the bathroom. The cool tile felt nice under his feet. He washed his face with cold water, brushed his teeth while humming a silly little tune he'd heard on the radio the day before, and stared at his reflection for a quiet moment. The faint bruises from the tournament were almost gone, but the memory of the holy sword still sat heavy in his chest like a shadow he couldn't quite shake.

When he stepped back out, Yuki was already awake, sitting on the edge of the bed and checking her phone. The screen glowed softly — 8:00 a.m.

"Morning, gremlin," she said with that warm, big-sister smile that always made him feel safe no matter what.

"Morning, Sista," Astra replied, rubbing his eyes. "Today we really explore Tokyo?"

Yuki nodded, her smile gentle but protective. "Only if you're rested enough. You fought so hard yesterday… I don't want you pushing yourself again. You're still just ten, remember?"

Across the room, Uraka sat in one of the cream armchairs, headphones on, listening to parody songs on her phone. She kept bursting into quiet laughter, pink hair falling over one eye. Wano was curled on the sofa, legs crossed, scrolling through her phone with focused intensity, searching for the best places for their vacation.

Wano suddenly perked up, eyes lighting up like she'd found treasure.

"Oh! Okay! Let's go."

Yuki looked over curiously. "You found a place?"

Wano held up her phone like a trophy, smiling brightly.

"Yes! First stop — Meiji Jingu Shrine. It's peaceful, surrounded by forest, perfect for photos and quiet moments. We can pray, take beautiful pictures, and just… breathe."

Yuki's eyes sparkled with excitement. "Oh… that's really good. We can take so many photos together. It feels right after everything."

Astra peeked out from the bathroom doorway, toothbrush still in his mouth, foam at the corners of his lips.

"And don't forget about dumplings! I like them a lot…"

Wano laughed warmly and started booking a cab on her phone.

Uraka pulled off her headphones, still giggling from the last parody.

"Wait for me! I'm coming too!"

She shut the door behind her as she joined them in the hallway.

They all piled into the waiting cab. Astra took the front seat this time, buckling his seatbelt carefully like a responsible big kid.

Yuki leaned forward from the back.

"Drop us at Meiji Jingu Shrine, please."

The driver nodded and pulled away smoothly.

But halfway down the block, Uraka suddenly spoke up, eyes sparkling with an idea.

"Wait… we're going to a shrine."

Wano tilted her head. "So?"

Uraka grinned mischievously.

"We should wear kimonos! We'll look so good in them, and our photos will be amazing — like we're part of the shrine itself."

Wano's face lit up instantly, golden eyes shining.

"So let's go!"

Yuki laughed softly. "Driver uncle, wait for us just a minute!"

Astra sighed dramatically but got out with them, trudging back into the hotel like a tired little puppy.

A few minutes later, the door of the suite burst open with a swirl of pink sparkles and gentle laughter.

Yuki stepped out first — wearing a soft pink kimono adorned with delicate cherry-blossom patterns, the obi tied perfectly, her mask matching the fabric in a subtle, elegant way that made her look both mysterious and radiant. Her golden eye (the unsealed one) sparkled with quiet excitement and lingering worry for Astra.

Wano followed in a stunning golden kimono that caught the morning light like sunlight dancing on water. She already had her phone out, taking quick selfies with a playful, confident smile.

Uraka came last — a beautiful deep blue kimono with flowing wave patterns, a handmade Japanese fan in her hand, twirling it once with graceful confidence.

Astra stood in the background, now wearing a simple but clean white kimono. His cheeks were bright red, head lowered, ears burning with embarrassment.

"Why… why do you three look so cute in it…?" he muttered, voice small and shy.

The girls burst into warm laughter and rushed him back into the cab, the mood light and full of affection.

Yuki told the driver to start again.

The cab glided through Tokyo's morning streets, the city slowly waking up around them — long roads stretching ahead, sunlight reflecting off the water below bridges, birds wheeling across the sky.

Astra napped lightly in the front seat, head against the window, a small smile on his face.

Yuki kept taking photos out the window — the long roads, the bridges, the way sunlight danced on the river like scattered diamonds.

Wano sat scrolling her phone with the back camera on, touching up her makeup in the reflection, humming softly.

Uraka listened to music through her earbuds, occasionally giggling at a funny lyric.

Astra woke up halfway across a big bridge and stared out in quiet wonder.

"The streets here have longer roads than our city's main road…"

The water below sparkled like a thousand tiny stars, birds soaring freely above.

Astra tilted his head, confused but enchanted.

"Why is everything reflecting light like that…?"

The cab finally reached Meiji Jingu Shrine.

They stepped out into the peaceful forest path leading to the shrine. Tall, ancient trees lined the wide walkway, sunlight filtering through the leaves in soft, dappled beams. The air smelled of pine, fresh earth, and something sacred — quiet and timeless.

They climbed the long stairs together, the sound of their footsteps soft on the stone. At the main shrine, they prayed quietly — each making their own silent wishes. Astra closed his eyes tightly, wishing for strength, for Yuki's happiness, for everyone he loved to stay safe.

Yuki clicked dozens of group photos — all four of them in beautiful kimonos under the grand torii gate, smiling, laughing, the morning light making everything look like a living painting.

Then Yuki's mask slipped slightly.

A person nearby froze, eyes widening.

"Is that… Idol Yuki? The famous singer of Japan!?"

Yuki sweated instantly, trying to fix her mask.

"Umm… not now please—"

But it was too late. The crowd surged forward with excited murmurs turning into a wave.

"Autograph please!"

"Ma'am you are too beautiful!!"

"I am your biggest fan!! Can I take a photo?!"

Yuki became surrounded, smiling politely but clearly overwhelmed, signing notebooks and phones while trying to keep her mask in place and not lose sight of the others.

In the background, Astra, Uraka, and Wano stood pouting, completely overshadowed for the moment.

Astra muttered, kicking a small pebble with his foot.

"At least someone look at me…?"

A girl glanced at him for half a second… then turned right back to Yuki with a squeal.

Astra's shoulders slumped, voice small and a little hurt.

"No one is looking at me… Am I that ugly?"

Wano patted his head gently, smiling warmly.

"No… you're even uglier."

They all laughed despite the chaos, the moment lightening the disappointment.

After the crowd finally thinned and Yuki managed to escape with a polite bow, they continued their journey. They took the metro to Senso-ji Temple in Asakusa.

Inside the train, Astra sat watching the tunnel walls rush by in darkness.

"Are we going through a tunnel?"

Yuki smiled softly beside him.

"Yeah… we are."

Astra's eyes widened with childlike wonder.

"That's cool. It becomes darkness outside even though it's day right now."

Yuki explained gently, her voice full of patience and love.

"You know how old Senso-ji is?"

Astra thought hard, brows furrowed.

"Hmm… how much?"

Yuki's voice was warm and patient.

"It's almost 1,400 years old."

Astra's mouth fell open in pure amazement.

"Woah!! That's too much!"

Yuki nodded, smiling.

"Yeah… that's why it's so famous. It's one of the oldest temples in Tokyo."

Wano napped lightly against the window, head resting on Uraka's shoulder.

Uraka stood holding the pole instead of sitting, swaying gently with the train's rhythm, fan still in her hand.

Astra smiled to himself, silver eyes bright.

"Hehe… I'm excited to go."

The metro arrived at Asakusa station.

They stepped out into the bustling streets and walked through the giant Kaminarimon gate — the huge red lantern swinging gently above them, the air filled with the scent of incense and street food.

Uraka looked up in awe.

"It's really huge…"

Wano nodded, taking in the sight.

"Yeah. There's so much to see here."

Yuki smiled softly.

"We'll go to Nakamise-dori for shopping later, okay?"

Everyone agreed happily.

They explored the main hall, prayed again at the incense burners, took more photos under the five-storey pagoda, and bought small wooden charms. Astra chose a tiny silver dragon charm for Yuki and handed it to her shyly.

Then they moved to Nakamise-dori — the long, colorful shopping street lined with stalls selling fans, sweets, kimono accessories, and delicious street food.

They bought takoyaki (Astra's favorite octopus balls), fresh crepes, and more dumplings. Astra ate happily, cheeks puffed out like a chipmunk, making the girls laugh.

Evening came softly, painting the sky in warm oranges and pinks.

They stepped out with shopping bags swinging from their hands, the city lights beginning to flicker on.

Yuki smiled, looking at her little family.

"Today was really good."

Wano checked her phone.

"There's one last location left — Tokyo Tower."

Uraka's eyes lit up with excitement.

"Oooooh\~ Tokyo Tower? It's really high, I think."

Wano grinned.

"Yeah, it is. The view at night is supposed to be magical."

Yuki nodded.

"So let's go?"

Wano quickly booked another cab.

Astra kept nibbling on his last dumpling, a content smile on his face.

The cab arrived and they climbed in.

Astra closed his eyes for a moment in the front seat, the day's warmth settling into his bones.

When he opened them again, night had fully fallen. The Shibuya buildings glowed with vibrant neon — pinks, blues, purples — the streets crowded with people moving like a living river of light.

Astra stared in quiet wonder.

"Why is it so crowded?"

Yuki answered softly from the back.

"Yeah… it really is. Shibuya never really sleeps."

Wano added.

"There's the famous Shibuya crossing too, I think."

Uraka didn't listen — she was glued to the window, eyes wide at the dazzling lights and energy.

The cab finally reached Tokyo Tower and dropped them off at the base.

Astra jumped out, tilting his head all the way back, staring up at the towering structure in pure awe.

"Look at this thing!!! It's too big! Like a giant needle in the sky!"

Yuki stood beside him, equally amazed, her hand resting gently on his shoulder.

"You're right. It's also my first time with you, Astra. I never entered Tokyo Tower before — just saw pictures on my phone. It looks even more beautiful in real life."

They climbed the stairs and stepped onto the observation deck.

The whole city spread out beneath them like a sea of stars — endless lights stretching to the horizon, the glowing scramble crossing far below looking tiny and orderly, the dark ribbon of the Sumida River reflecting neon like a mirror of dreams.

Astra pressed his small hands against the cool glass, voice full of wonder and quiet emotion.

"I can watch the whole city… without even flying. That's crazy! Everything looks so small from up here… but so alive."

Uraka whispered, almost breathless.

"It looks beautiful…"

Wano smiled softly, taking photos of the view and the group.

Yuki stood slightly shocked, voice soft and full of quiet awe.

"I'm also seeing Tokyo Tower for the first time. I didn't think the city would look this beautiful from inside it… like a living painting."

They stood together in comfortable, peaceful silence for a long moment, the wind gentle against their faces, the lights of Tokyo twinkling below like millions of tiny hopes.

Then the ground far beneath them shook violently.

A massive hand erupted from the shadows at the base of the tower — followed by a monstrous body with five glowing eyes, ten powerful arms, and six dark, leathery wings.

Police nearby panicked and opened fire.

The bullets did nothing.

The monster roared and ate them alive in one horrifying gulp.

It leaped upward, smashing into the top of the tower and breaking the observation deck railing with a deafening crash.

People screamed and scattered in terror.

The monster roared again — the sound so loud and deep that everyone covered their ears, the tower itself trembling.

Astra's eyes widened in horror.

"What is it?!"

Yuki's face turned deadly serious, arms clenched at her sides, hair fluttering wildly in the wind.

"Astra! Everyone!! Hurry! Save the others and get far away! I think the monsters are raiding the city! Return to Paras City!"

Astra's voice cracked with panic and refusal.

"What about you?! I can't leave you like that! You can't fight those monsters alone!"

Yuki's eyes were firm, but her voice trembled with deep sisterly love and fear for him.

"Just do it! We don't have time!!"

Uraka and Wano grabbed as many civilians as they could and jumped clear with them using their powers.

Astra teleported groups of terrified people away in bright bursts of silver light, his small face set with determination.

In seconds, the top of the tower was empty — except for Yuki, standing alone, arms clenched, hair whipping in the fierce wind.

The monster ripped through the remaining metal and lunged at her with a deafening roar.

Yuki punched it hard — the monster spilled black blood and staggered back.

But the spilled blood hit the damaged wall and exploded violently.

There were no more railings. No walls left to protect her.

Yuki backed away slowly, sweat dripping down her face, voice shaking but defiant.

"Stay away… from me."

The monster roared louder.

Its poison dripped to the ground below — and more monsters began erupting from the earth like nightmares given form, attacking the tower's supporting pillars with savage force.

Yuki lost her balance — her leg slipped on the broken edge.

Her hair fluttered wildly in the wind.

She screamed as she fell into open air.

"Noo!!"

A bolt of black lightning tore through the night like a shadow given speed.

It caught Yuki by the waist and pulled her close in one smooth, protective motion.

Their hair fluttered together in the fierce wind.

The monster rushed at them with a bloodthirsty roar.

A powerful, dark hand shot out, grabbed the monster's thick neck, and crushed it so hard the creature exploded in a spray of black blood and shadow.

The blood spread everywhere in slow motion.

The shadow slowly melted away, revealing a tall, familiar figure.

Yuki's eyes widened dramatically, her mask slipping completely off.

Both her crimson (sealed) and golden (unsealed) eyes glowed at the same time, tears spilling freely down her cheeks.

"Is that… you? Hono-kun…?"

Honokage nodded slowly, his deep, resonant voice soft but steady, filled with quiet regret and longing.

"I'm here."

More monsters rose from the ground below, roaring and climbing the tower's structure.

Honokage held Yuki protectively against his chest, black lightning crackling around them both like a shield of night.

The night wind howled around them.

And after weeks of painful silence and heartbreak, the shadow leviathan had finally returned — just when she needed him most.
