Chapter 28 - The Silent Return

At that moment, Kai unified. The queens approached him with tears in their eyes; they had just witnessed something unheard of: a man fighting against his own shadow and the revelation of a superior power dwelling within him. The soldiers, though dumbfounded, felt a renewed respect for the king who led them.

However, Kai felt humiliated. In his heart burned the shame of having appeared defeated and weak before everyone. But what he perceived as weakness, the soldiers saw as a legend: their King was so vast that his only worthy rival was his own power.

—"Let the troops return to the kingdom," the queens ordered the Governor. "We will take care of him." —"Are you sure?" the Governor asked with concern. "What if another incident occurs?" —"If it happens, we will handle it," one of them replied firmly. "We need to speak with our husband alone. Please, withdraw the army; he is not feeling well."

The Governor nodded and ordered the retreat. Before leaving, the four generals approached Kai and surrounded him. The boldest among them gave him a tight hug. —"You're insane, brother!" he said, laughing. —"It doesn't matter," another added, "we love you anyway!"

After the army's departure, the Governor approached one last time. —"Are you alright, Kai?" —"Yes, brother. Take them back and tell them everything is fine." —"And the black castle?" —"I don't have the strength to think about that now. Let the Crowned Beasts have it as a gift for what happened. Let's go, please."

The return was a desert of words. Kai remained in absolute silence, consumed by the thought of having exposed his worst feelings to the world. Meanwhile, legends of the battle against himself were already spreading like wildfire throughout the kingdom.

The Confrontation of the Black Witch

They arrived at the beach house, in the King's personal domains. Kai sat outside in his usual chair near the shore, watching the sea for hours. The queens, from the wooden castle, understood his sadness and chose not to pressure him.

It was late at night when Kai finally entered the Great Hall. They were all waiting for him there, sitting on cushions and armchairs, dressed up and beautiful, offering him a smile to ease his burden. He sat at one end, where he could see them all.

—"I am sorry," Kai said, breaking the silence. "I never thought my demons would put you in danger." —"Danger?" Lyris intervened. "When were we ever in danger?" —"It was an intense day," the water queen added, "but we never felt that you would allow anything to happen to us."

Then, Isabella, the powerful Black Witch, stepped forward and took his hands in hers. —"Kai, I understand it has been difficult to be with all of us, but you are not alone. There is a world inside you that you have hidden from us. You have hidden your feelings, and that is what we will not forgive. I know we have pressured you, but why do you hide what you truly feel?"

The Hidden Truth of the White Warlock

The White Warlock looked at Isabella and then at the rest. —"Take a seat. I want to tell you all something about my past."

For the first time, Kai opened up completely: —"You know that I am not from this world. I was born on a planet called Earth, in a country of noble people who never give up despite their problems. I was happy there... or so I thought. I had a wife and two children. My life was wonderful until the day I discovered it was all a lie."

Kai took a deep breath, the pain of years surfacing in his voice. —"One day I came home from work and she told me she no longer loved me. She asked me to leave. I was devastated; I didn't understand why. Then, she confessed the truth: she had never loved me. she had approached me when we were eighteen just to be near my best friend. I was an orphan, I had no one, and I put all my love into them. But she only used me."

—"She told me that when she got pregnant, my friend didn't want to take responsibility, and she lied to me so I would support the children. I worked fourteen hours a day, from Sunday to Sunday. I earned five university degrees and bought a house because I wanted to give them the best possible future. Then my second daughter was born, and I thought I was the happiest man in the world."

The queens listened in deathly silence. —"But then she dealt the final blow. She told me I was sterile. Neither of the children was mine; both belonged to that 'friend.' In five minutes, she destroyed my past, my present, and my future. I loved children who weren't mine and a woman who despised me. She told me to leave because the real father was finally going to take over."

—"I left that house with a dead soul. As I walked aimlessly through the city, I saw a man threatening a woman and her children. I tried to defend them and was shot several times. The next thing I remember is waking up in the arms of Legion, Aliarda's father. That past has left a wound that won't close. It's not that I don't trust you... it's that my heart was broken a long time ago."

When he finished, there wasn't a single dry eye in the hall. The queens wept, unable to comprehend how anyone could harbor such malice against a man so devoted.

Healing the Broken Heart

The queens' tears fell freely. The mere thought that someone could have hurt their love so deeply filled them with rage, but also with a profound sense of understanding. They finally realized that Kai was not possessive by nature; his heart had been shattered, and for him, trust was the hardest thing to give.

Even so, they saw that their King trusted them, the Governor, his generals, and his people, despite his heart's instinct to shield itself. They saw a man who, despite the agony of his past, had embraced a new chance at life and had not let it go to waste.

They asked Kai if he could multiply himself once more. He complied, and a clone embraced each and every one of them. But this time, the queens did not want to go any further. They asked their husband to simply hold them tonight. The day had been exhausting, and they only wanted to feel the steady beat of his heart.

He held them close. As the sea breeze brought the fresh scent of salt and the sound of crickets mingled with the waves, they all fell into a deep, peaceful sleep.

A New Beginning

Kai had poured out all his doubts and fears to his wives. They knew, even if they didn't fully perceive the magnitude of it, that an even stronger bond had been forged with the warlock. The tie they had created was not just between them and him; their marriage was now more solid than ever.

The truth about Kai's past, the reality of who he is, and the fact that his body is a mystery—perhaps even a universe unto itself—excited them more each day.

The queens gathered to vote on their next move. Their primary curiosity was to meet the "True King," for they had realized that Kai was not the absolute ruler of his own being; he was just another subject, even if he was their husband.

Kai, the White Warlock, had become the ultimate and most fascinating riddle for these 120 beauties.

The Great Riddle

The queens gathered to vote. The first point: To meet the Golden King. Everyone voted yes, but the problem of logistics arose.

—"To meet him," one argued, "we need Kai to multiply into the original thousand clones."

—"It would be impossible for us to attend to a thousand clones!" another exclaimed.

—"We didn't say we would attend to them," the first one refuted. "We said we wanted to meet them. It is the only way to be able to meet the King!"

The Queen of the Falcon Kingdom origin intervened, concerned: —"Are you seriously going to ask Kai for that? If we do that, it might be that we have to attend to the thousand clones. Don't you think that's a bit exaggerated?"

The Queen of the Mercenary Lands, one of the boldest, stood up before the great table where the 120 were discussing: —"Look, girls. It's either attend to all of them or increase our lines... and I don't think that can be possible because of the deal we have with Kai. Increasing our lines would practically put us all in danger."

—"We should talk to him," another proposed.

—"No!" a third refuted. "I don't know if it's convenient to talk to him first. Let's vote on what we want to do!"

And they all voted with determination that they wanted to meet the Golden King: to meet a man who is the same one they know, but who is the one in command.

The Proposal on the Throne

Then, the 120 queens summoned the king to the palace throne room. The King was on his throne, unified, attending to some matters of the kingdom, while the queens waited to be heard.

A great legend had spread throughout the entire village: the King who multiplied into a thousand warriors, one of whom was a golden warrior, assisted by his three generals—the white, the black, and the silver—all of them formidable. Children played and told stories where the red and the blue fought. The kingdom had returned to life knowing that its King was invincible.

While the queens waited, they were visibly nervous. The proposal they would make to him would not only mark a before and after in Kai's body, but they also wanted to ask him for the truth: for him to tell them absolutely everything about his power. However, Kai might say no, and that worried them.

They were all in silence, but they were thinking the same thing. Some even began to do the math: "A thousand among all of us... that would be about seven or eight for each one," they said, laughing among themselves. But it was a dangerous truth: if Kai multiplied, there were a thousand men who desired them.

The decision was crucial. A choice had to be made between the physical and the sentimental, and Kai did not want to hurt them. The question floated in the air: What was the King going to decide?

The Night Invitation

At that moment, the King received them with a smile. The 120 were in the palace Throne room, so large that people looked like ants from the ceiling. It was beautiful, with giant walls and stained glass windows and a floor that looked like a black mirror with drawings. The queens formed a circle around the King, and the doors closed hermetically.

—"To what do I owe this pleasant visit, my queens? Weren't you going to wait for me at home?" asked the King.

—"No. We want to talk to you," they said. "We have selected one to ask you."

They selected the shyest one, Anastasia, the last one who had entered.

—"Anastasia!" one said. —"Why me?" —"Because you were the last one," another replied.

None of them wanted to do it. Anastasia, her voice trembling, could not speak. The King stepped down from the Throne and approached her. —"What's the matter? Do you want to ask me for something? Go ahead, I'm listening," he said.

Anastasia, a young black witch, could barely murmur: —"King, we want... we want my..." She was stuttering; the words wouldn't come out. —"What's wrong that you're so nervous?"

Finally, she let the words out quickly: —"We want you to multiply into a thousand clones!"

—"What?!" said Kai, looking at them all. He laughed again.

—"Look, girls, the red Kai did that. But it's not necessary; I already control my feelings, and there's no need."

The women insisted: —"Yes, there is a need. We want to meet them all!"

Kai laughed out loud. —"You want to meet the Golden one, right?"

Everyone looked at the floor, the ceiling, everywhere but at him. Kai laughed again: —"You must understand that he is the King that we have. We clones do not have different personalities; we are only one, but we have a leader. He is so powerful that he lives sleeping, that's why the White and the Black protect him and the Silver obeys his orders. I cannot disturb him. I am a king and I must obey the leader of all of us. I know it sounds strange, but my body is like that. And I can't go around disturbing him for a whim of yours."

The girls, in chorus, began to say: —"We want to meet him! We want to meet them all. Talk to them! We want to meet you, Kai!"

—"Well," said Kai. —"Tonight, when I go to bathe... you've seen that at night I bathe alone, right? I want you to bathe with me."

Anastasia, surprised, said: —"It's true! You bathe alone at night, you only bathe with us during the day!"

—"We are going to bathe together at night. Yes, we are going to bathe together. I bathe at such a time, and he will make you wait in the bathroom. You will go, it's a date," said the King, smiling. Everyone said yes with a smile.

—"Well, now I am busy, please, wait for me at the house." All of them retired to their home, waiting for the king in that huge castle on the beach, which they called "the wooden house." Kai, on the throne, thought about what he was going to do while he attended to his affairs, and the queens were excited waiting for the night.

A Massive Test

The queens, waiting in their individual rooms, heard the bells of the wooden castle announcing that the King was already bathing. Then, they all went out in robes directly toward a large bathroom that the King had private for himself alone. That bathroom had a height of about fifty meters and a width of one hundred by one hundred meters; the castle, in itself, was enormous.

Everyone entered the bathroom. Kai was not there. There was a part of that gigantic bathroom that was not well lit. They all saw that the water fell from the sky, from the ceiling. There were no fountains or thermal baths, only a floor and the water that fell.

They all began to get wet, took off their robes, and called for their husband. At that moment, the earth was heard trembling.

A giant of about forty-five meters appeared in front of them, walking among them, trying not to step on them. With a voice that resonated throughout the gigantic bathroom, he said: —"You wanted to meet me, this is how I really am."

The queens saw that their husband, in his original form, without multiplications or clones, just as he was, was a giant 45 meters tall who weighed about ten thousand tons. The queens looked like ants in Kai's sight, though not quite.

They extended their hands, the 120 of them, and told him to sit down. When Kai sat down Indian-style, the queens began to climb their husband's body. They all sat on his legs, and some bolder ones, on other parts.

They asked the King to tell them since when he had been like this. Kai told them that since he was fifteen, one day he fell asleep and appeared in this form. He can take a normal human form, but his true form is this. In this form, he does not need to multiply or anything; he can live peacefully being a giant, but he cannot have a normal life with them.

Now they understood that their husband not only had to bring himself down to the level of a normal human, but he also had to multiply to divide his power. He was such a strong or cosmic being. They remembered that in the dungeon, in the final boss room, there was an image of the giant, but they never imagined it was true.

They made the King lie down on the floor and ran on top of their husband, they played and threw foam and soap at each other. It was an extraordinary and rare experience at the same time.

Kai told them: —"I didn't say anything to you, not to hide it from you, but because I don't want to seem like a circus freak to you."

The queens hugged him everywhere and said in chorus, all at once: —"You are our husband and our love. We love you, however you are."

The New Species

The following days, the queens bathed every night with him. Their husband did not miss a single night. When he was on the beach, they asked him to transform into a giant, which made Kai feel more relaxed, as he did not have all his immense power compressed.

This being had evolved so much with his evolution ability that this "normal human" had ascended to a level of being practically a star.

So many tests he had overcome: fighting against himself, killing a star, defeating armies, creating a kingdom, and stopping the demonic hordes at only sixteen years old.

The queens told all those feats among themselves. They spoke of how their husband had evolved with his ability to such a point that he was a mortal brushing against cosmic powers, though not divine, because Kai's soul was still very sad. He was not an angel, he was not a demon. He did not belong to the humans of that planet nor to any of the known races. Nor did he belong to a terrestrial human.

The conclusion reached by the 120 queens was that Kai had evolved into a new species.

And their curiosity for the Golden King grew without ceasing. So they asked their husband to please multiply into a thousand.

The Multiplication of a Thousand Faces

Then the King spoke: —"Look, my beautiful queens, you must understand something. The thousand clones do not have different personalities: they are me. I control them, I manage them. But the Golden One is different, just like the other three [White, Black, and Silver]. When they are present, each of us has a different personality."

Kai continued with a serious warning: —"You must understand something: the clones desire you all equally, because they live off my desire for you. But you want to speak with a being who does not desire you and is not in love with you. You may face a great disappointment upon meeting him."

The queens replied: —"We understand that the Golden King may not feel love for us, but we do feel love for him, because he is part of you, Kai! And do not make us wait any longer."

—"All right," said Kai. —"I warned you. Remember that when I perform this multiplication, at least a day must pass before I can unify. And if we all take on different personalities, it will be a disaster for you."

—"Don't worry. We are going to solve it," said one of them.

Then, this time, Kai stood quite distant from them, on a wide part of the beach. And he multiplied.

A thousand warriors appeared in front of them. In fact, this time not everyone had the same appearance as Kai; instead, all of their eyes were of different colors, indicating the explosion of new personalities.

And yes, the Golden One, the White One, the Black One, and the Silver One were among them.

The Golden One walked among everyone, and everyone bowed, with his three generals right behind him. He greeted the queens with a bow, inclining his head. The queens responded with a similar bow.

They asked the Golden King if he could enter the castle, as there was a banquet prepared for him and for all the clones. Hundreds of servants appeared with dishes, forming a great table inside that palace. Maidservants and servants arranged chairs and plates for the thousand Kings.

The Embrace That Unites

The Golden King danced with each of them in front of all the clones, and everyone applauded. The three generals (the White, the Black, and the Silver) guarded every corner, looking for any danger to their King. It was a strange form of security for the queens, but they gave it no importance. The Silver One did not sit at the table; he ate while standing, observing every movement near the King.

Kai (the one with blue eyes) bowed before the Golden King and said to him: —"Thank you for sharing in my house. My house is your house."

The Golden One responded to him: —"Brother, I know. Do not worry, everything is fine."

The blue-eyed Kai leaned back and one of his queens embraced him. —"See that everything was fine, my love? Don't worry, he isn't angry, he is happy with us."

The queens danced and caressed the Golden King's face. The queens' ambition to dance with him had been an ecstasy, the fulfilled dream of dancing with a person who has as much power as a sun.

The Golden King sat on the throne, asked for silence, and thanked them for the attention and the welcome to the house. He said to all his brothers: —"We have built a kingdom and, in this beautiful castle that is our house, we have our beautiful wives. Thank you to all of you, to the servants and the queens, and thank you for taking care of our brother Kai."

—"I understand the beautiful queens who are curious about me. But when you embrace your husband, remember: you embrace me."

—"Now," he continued, "I want to offer a prayer to our Lord, who gives us this opportunity for this banquet."

The King stepped down from the Throne, looked toward the sky, knelt before God, and prayed for everyone.

That day, among laughter, the queens attended to and danced with all the clones. They flirted with ten or fifteen Kais at a time.

The Golden King said to Kai: —"It is time for me to go. Remember: I will return soon."

And then, before the moon shone over the ocean, Kai unified and became one again.

The queens shouted with joy and jumped with the emotion of having met one of the beings who loved them most. The part of Kai that was kind and possessed great power had taken his queens to the limit of mental ecstasy.

Shared Dreams

That night, the queens were exhausted, so they fell dead in their beds. Kai took each one to her room, and he lay down in an individual room. They were a marriage, but each one had their own space. They were 121 people who belonged to a single marriage.

Although they were all the King's harem, the King could have many more concubines and consorts if he wanted, but he decided that this number, 120, would be different. He decided that he would love them all, and that 120 was more than enough for one man.

That was what he believed. But in reality, his queens had seen the thousand Kais, and the fantasies in their heads began to spin.

In their dreams, they saw themselves surrounded by hundreds of men. They were not sexual dreams, but complex dreams where there were a hundred Kais asking for their hand in marriage, a hundred Kais giving them chocolate hearts, and a hundred Kais escorting them while they led an army. At the end of all those dreams, in each one of them, the Golden One waited for them and kissed them.

One could say it was a dream cheating on the Blue Kai, but in reality, it is the same person; one could say it is strange and funny.

While Blue Kai slept peacefully, happy to have unburdened himself and that his queens were satisfied, the next morning a new dilemma appeared.

The Revelation of the Golden One

The queens woke up very early, with adrenaline in their veins. They were all excited, looking for their husband. He was still sleeping. They took him by his feet, but he weighed tons, so they could not move him and he did not wake up.

What they did was look for the shyest one to give him a kiss. The girl did not want to do it, but when she saw him breathing in front of her and smiling while asleep, she kissed his lips and he woke up.

He saw the multitude of women around him and said to them: —"What's happening? It's still very early."

—"We want to talk to you, we can't take it anymore," they said.

They asked him if the Golden Kai was himself and if he had been deceiving them with the eye color, because when they danced with him, they realized he was the same person and that everything had been a deception. They all looked at him with a furrowed brow.

The King began to laugh. —"Are you talking about these eyes?" he said, and his eyes turned golden.

The queens shouted: —"See! You deceived us again, girls!"

—"First I wanted to see if you deserved this version of me. I wanted to see if you loved me. I wanted to see your hearts, how they were. I wanted to see if you accepted me as I really am. And you know perfectly well that I love each one of you. That is why I said you would always embrace me and that your eyes would always illuminate me. It was a test I gave you."

—"The thing with the Red Kai was not a test," he clarified. —"That did happen. But yes, the other clones obey me, and I am the King. So the Blue Kai does exist, the Red one exists too, but they don't have different personalities; it was a joke I played on you. But the incident with the Red one was something born from my jealousy."

That man with the golden eyes and that tremendous power told them: —"If you want me to stay like this from now on, you will obey me."

They all asked him to multiply. He multiplied, and all those Kais had golden eyes.

—"Do you accept the deal?" he asked each of them.

—"Do you really think we live with you to always disobey you? But do not lie to us again, please, and do not deceive us anymore," they replied.

They kissed him.

During that day, he made love to them as they desired. The sensation of having the man they wanted transcended desire and sentiment: The Golden One touched their souls, and the women were reborn that day.
