Chapter 9 - Everything leads to the same end

Chapter Nine

The events of the chapter begin inside the forest, at the very same moment Kaith first arrived in this world.

Kaith, with slight confusion:

"Finally… I got rid of that thing. Now I can do whatever I want."

Then he spoke in a firm voice:

"First, I need to obtain the regeneration ability."

Kaith went to the same place where he once met the friends who betrayed him.

Kaith: "I haven't seen this place in a long time… how amusing."

He repeated what he had done before — he took Ark, Falk, Natek, Arika, and Arinsa to Arblix, sacrificed them, and obtained the regeneration ability.

Then he continued on his path and said:

"It's time to save Ari now."

Kaith headed toward the execution platform where Ari was being held, but he was shocked when he noticed that his power had decreased drastically, far more than expected.

Inside Kaith's mind:

"What is this? How did I lose more than half of my strength?!"

Despite the confusion, he did not allow it to stop him and charged into battle.

He stood before thousands of soldiers and shouted defiantly:

"Who will stand in my way when I want to save my little sister? I can defeat all of you!"

The soldiers rushed toward him. Black flames ignited around his body, and his sword tore through the air violently. Even so, Kaith emerged from the battle severely wounded.

He killed nearly 500 soldiers, wounded around 700 more, while approximately 200 fled the field of death in terror.

After that, he turned toward Arnak to confront him — but what shocked Kaith was that both Art and Arnak were part of the Salvation Corps. This had never happened in any of his previous lives, which had exceeded tens of thousands.

Despite the shock, Kaith gathered his strength, summoned his flames, and lunged into battle.

Art attacked from behind while Arnak struck from the front at the same time. Kaith barely evaded the assault and began a direct fight with Art.

Kaith managed to land several blows on him, but suddenly he was stabbed from behind in the abdomen.

Arnak said with a mocking smile:

"I didn't expect you to be this foolish, Master Kaith."

Kaith smiled faintly, pulled the sword out of his own stomach with his hand, and said calmly:

"Do you really think I'm an idiot?"

Art and Arnak were stunned as they saw the wound close instantly before their eyes — the regeneration ability.

Kaith gave them no chance to react. He surged forward with overwhelming force and decapitated Arnak with a single strike.

Arnak's body fell lifeless to the ground.

Art unleashed his strongest attack — Light Cyclone — which struck Kaith with multiple deep and brutal wounds.

But Art noticed something strange — Kaith did not regenerate this time.

Art laughed confidently.

"The regeneration ability… it can only be used once a day, right, you bastard?"

Kaith responded with a cold smile.

"Do you think I would reveal my weaknesses to you?"

Then he laughed.

"No… it's unlimited."

Art advanced with another attack called Lightning of Light. He began moving at insane speed around Kaith before striking from behind — but Kaith blocked the blow.

He looked at Art with a terrifying gaze and smiled. Kaith ignited his black flames, coating his sword with them, then launched himself at Art in a blindingly fast attack.

Art blocked the strike with his sword, but—

His sword shattered completely. The impact left a deep scar across his body, and blood began to pour from the wound.

Kaith said in a low voice filled with fury:

"You'll follow Arnak to hell now."

But Art smiled cunningly and suddenly dashed toward Ari, grabbing a dagger and placing it against her neck.

Art threatened:

"Come any closer, and I'll kill her!"

Inside Art's mind:

"I don't expect this monster to leave anyone in the kingdom alive if I kill her…"

He lifted his gaze toward Kaith — only to see a glowing yellow eye staring back at him, filled with terrifying rage.

Kaith responded coldly and dangerously:

"Art… let Ari go, and I'll allow you to live — with one hand.

Or would you prefer that I destroy the entire kingdom over your head?"

Inside Art's mind:

"He's serious… If I defy him, he'll cut off my head. He's not the type who jokes."

Art finally said in surrender:

"Fine… I agree."

Kaith smiled faintly, then whispered with deadly sarcasm:

"I knew you were stupid."

In a single flash, Kaith cut off Art's head. Art fell without even managing to say another word.

Kaith paid him no attention. He walked toward Ari, who was trembling in fear, blood covering her body.

He asked quietly:

"Ari… are you alright?"

She replied through tears:

"Yes… thanks to you, brother."

He looked away as he said:

"We should go to the capital now. There are still some people there."

Ari nodded softly.

"Okay."

Together, they headed toward the capital.

There, Kaith bought a small house and ordered Ari to stay inside safely, while he set off alone to confront the First Shard.
