Chapter Five
Information Paragraph
The Ability to Return After Death
It's not an ordinary ability... but a curse.
Some might think it was created by Darkness itself, but this is a grave mistake; for whoever holds the power to create something like this must be one of the Three Wise Lords of the universe, who are:
Arlis, the ruler of chaos.
Atrikens, the lord of reincarnation.
Arlicter, the king of hell.
(These characters do not actually exist in the story—at least not in the advanced seasons—only a few who know the secrets of the universe are aware of them.)
It was Arlicter who created this curse and cursed one of his loyal followers, named Arklik, who gained the respect of the king of hell himself.
However, there is one condition that makes this curse disappear and transfer to another person, known as the Complete Life; meaning the curse bearer lives their life as they wish until its end.
When that life ends, there are two inevitable options:
If the cursed person dies from old age or illness, the curse transfers randomly to a new soul.
If they are killed, the curse transfers to their killer.
However... the curse can also transfer by the will of the king of hell himself.
In Kaith's case, the answer was the third.
This curse works in a specific way: only when its bearer dies, time rewinds to 24 hours before their death.
But there are rare cases—called anomalies—where the bearer can return to any period they want, and this often happens the first moment they gain the curse.
Before Kaith, tens of thousands of people carried this curse.
It is a curse rooted in existence itself, because it causes new temporal dimensions to emerge—"what if" possibilities—which makes the Three Wise Lords of existence enjoy watching those multiple branches unfold.
And the most dangerous thing about this curse... is that its bearer will never be able to...
(The line is cut here.)
The War Day: Battle Against the Salvation Legion (In the Previous Life)
Kaith:
"Art knows now that I carry this curse... I must save Ari quickly."
It didn't take long for Kaith to reach the execution ground, but...
Before his feet touched the place, he felt a strange tremor in his memory from his previous life, then he froze in place—Ari was killed seconds before his arrival, and the entire area was erased from existence.
Art's Perspective
Art:
"I'm almost there... only a little left..."
"What is this feeling?!"
Suddenly, time reversed—exactly 24 hours.
Art (shocked):
"Impossible... Could Kaith have used the curse? No, he crushed them all... That means he lost his sister again. It's okay, he will succeed this time for sure."
Moments passed.
Suddenly, time reversed again.
Art (with a troubled voice):
"No... it can't be! Kaith lost again..."
Time reversed again, and again...
"He won't lose, right?"
Secret Information Paragraph
The variables kept multiplying endlessly...
Kaith failed to save Ari in tens of thousands of failed attempts.
The number is known because the curse records every failed attempt as a new timeline, and each time leaves its impact on the fabric of existence.
The Final Return
Art (with a tired voice):
"Is this attempt the last one... Will he succeed this time? I won't arrive in time. I've tried this before between attempt 500 and 700 without any success..."
Back to Kaith
Kaith laughed hysterically as he stared at the dark sky:
"I won't fail! I will save you, Ari... I will save youuuuuuu!"
Then he whispered with a trembling voice:
"I will try what I avoided doing throughout tens of thousands of attempts."
He raised his hand and drew massive magical circles with terrifying precision, lighting the sky with a deep blue that pierced the darkness.
Kaith suddenly disappeared, then appeared right next to the execution platform... beside Ari.
But something strange was obvious: he covered his left eye with a black bandage.
He grabbed her firmly by her arms, then used instant teleportation again toward Art's location.
News That Shook the Continent Spread
"A beam of black fire descended from the sky, erasing the entire Salvation Legion area from existence. Over two hundred and eighty-nine thousand people died as a result."
The Encounter
Art (frozen):
"You did this... didn't you, Kaith?"
Kaith (with a wide, terrifying smile):
"Certainly."
Ari (covering her mouth in shock):
"Is it possible... you returned? Kaith, I thought you were dead!"
Art (thinking to himself):
"Dead? He's died more than twenty thousand times already... What has he become now? And why is he hiding his left eye?"
Kaith (coldly calm):
"Of course, I have been training to save the kingdom, Ari."
Art (to himself):
"A liar, definitely."
Ari approached him and hugged him tightly, then whispered with a trembling voice:
"Thank you... for saving me, brother."
Kaith (half-smiling, with a dead tone):
"You're welcome."
