Chapter 3 - 3

Several months of walking later, only interrupted when it needed to fuel itself, it eventually reached the mountains near North City.

The walk stopped when it saw a crater where the lab was supposed to be. Descending into the crater, it saw a small opening, seeming to lead to an underground chamber of the lab.

After descending into the underground chamber, it saw a massive supercomputer in the middle of the room—a large machine with a shattered glass top, and large cables spread all around the room.

Upon such a sight, it immediately walked to the supercomputer to gain its data, stopping when it realized it couldn't see a port.

Walking around the supercomputer didn't seem to give access to a port either, so, in a stroke of genius, it grabbed onto a metal plate on the side of the supercomputer and used one of its fingers as a screwdriver to remove it.

What greeted it behind the panel was a large port, seeming to be the same kind as the other ports connected to the large cables coming out of it.

The machine sat there for a moment, pondering how to connect with such a large port, until it finally came up with an idea.

It carefully ripped the port out, grabbed the wires connecting to it, and carefully yanked them out before connecting them to the connector from its lab that it had been carrying around, then plugged it into itself.

Upon doing so, it began convulsing from the electricity coming from the connector interfering with its body, before it went back to normal as its internal defense systems booted up.

Once it had returned to normal, it began extracting all of the information from the supercomputer, discarding anything that seemed useless, before taking the connector out and standing up.

Its gaze drifted back to the machine with the shattered glass top it had seen earlier, now knowing that it had once housed an artificial being—one that, in its opinion, hadn't made use of its components correctly. It resolved to repair the machine and make a creature greater than Cell, the being that was supposed to be perfect in every way.

As soon as it had resolved itself, it moved to leave the lab.

Upon getting out, it began its search for the materials needed for the project.

And so began its long journey to create a truly perfect life form.
