He chuckled, then made sure she was all bundled up before heading after her.
The cigarette in his hand burned down to the filter, searing his knuckles and pulling Zane Jennings back to the present.
'So, she used to laugh so much. Her eyes once held a glimmer that no storm could extinguish.'
"Zane."
A surprised voice called out to him from ahead.
Zane Jennings frowned and turned to face the approaching Mason Quincy. "How's Cian Sinclair?"
"He's fine," Mason Quincy said, his eyes scanning Zane Jennings. "Zane, what are you doing at the hospital? Did Julian Donovan fight back?"
He had stormed out of the hospital earlier, presumably to get revenge for them.
Zane Jennings's eyes flickered for just a second, but his tone was perfectly nonchalant. "I didn't go."
He had run into Erin Lowell on his way to get revenge and had forgotten all about it.
"You didn't go?"
Zane Jennings toyed with a lighter, the picture of nonchalance. "What? Are you disappointed that I didn't?"
