His wails were the only sound in the empty wilderness.
The next moment, Jamie felt a weight crash down on him. Tian Kui had pounced on top of him.
He instinctively tried to struggle, but his body seized up as if cramping, completely devoid of strength.
Jamie's eyes flew wide. He could clearly feel Tian Kui's paws pressing down on him as the beast's head slowly drew near.
Then his gaze met Tian Kui's ferocious eyes.
'Not running anymore?'
Like a conqueror standing over his prize, Tian Kui planted his front paws on Jamie's chest and stared down at him coldly.
There was even a trace of blood on its fangs from a previous bite.
Those eyes were truly like a wolf's—utterly bone-chilling.
A cold chill shot up Jamie's spine to the crown of his head. It felt as if his skull had been pried open, letting the heat escape in chilling gusts. He didn't even dare to breathe.
At that moment, Jamie truly felt the urge to piss himself.
But he couldn't. His body was long since dehydrated.
