Chapter 6 - Solace

Camelia paid no heed to him as she was dragged out into the street. He was probably there like the rest, waiting to watch her suffer.

While the majority of the pack were occupied with their hate for Camelia. A well planned, deliberate operation was happening by the east gate. One after the other, Three rogues sneaked into the pack, while the others stayed behind.

 Draven Resident

The house was mostly scarce with only three servant gossiping about which of their masters they found the most appealing to the eyes.

"I wouldn't go for master Ian," one of the girls stated.

Another nodded, supporting her words.

"He is just too simple and boring. But Master Lucas is such a fine catch." She blushed. "And I heard he is excellent in bed too." She giggled. "If he were to ever invite me to his chambers, I would gladly oblige."

The third girl frowned.

"Are you crazy! You shouldn't say such," she scolded the other girl her eyes scanning around, but immediately widening when they fell on the person standing casually by the stairway.

"Oh, come on. We all know Miss Aryra doesn't satisfy his needs," the second girl continued rolling her eyes, as she casually mentioned the Mistress name.

"Don't tell me you haven't thought about it, or are you perhaps into Master Thomas." She continued with disgust in her voice.

The first girl looked at the third girl, disgust also in her eyes.

"I heard he murders his lovers, just like Master Ian."

So immersed in their conversation, the other two girls failed to notice their companion's expression as she kept gazing at the person who was now approaching them, with utter horror in her eyes, that her mouth could not open to warn the other two.

"But who do you think has the biggest cock? Maybe–"

A sharp chuckle erupted from behind her, cutting whatever she was about saying. The girl jumped and turned around, but the colour quickly left her face when she saw Thomas standing right in front of her, Laughing hysterically, his head thrown back.

"Master Thomas!" The two girls exclaimed in unison, bowing their heads, the third girl also joined them in bowing her head too.

"No, no. Don't stop on my account. You were having such an interesting conservation," Thomas smirked. "Please continue ladies." He said, his gaze moving from the first to the second girl.

By now they were sweating with fear, their hands trembling, and hearts pounding furiously in their chest.

The second girl fell to her knees, her eyes filling up with tears.

"Forgive us Master Thomas, please forgive our foolishness..." She continued rambling on for forgiveness, as the second girl also joined her.

Though the third girl had not contributed to their senseless gossips about her masters, she also fell to her knees too. Knowing Thomas's personality, those two girls were as good as dead. But she...what could her own faith be.

At that moment, Ian also came down the stairs. He had been in his chambers the entire day. He took a few seconds to observe the situation, before leaving the house, like it was none of his concern.

"Look girls. The both of you deserve a reward for singing my good reputation. Why would I ever punish you?" Thomas said, glancing at Ian's back as he stepped out, wearing an innocent face, like they were painting the wrong picture of him.

The two girls stared at each other, suspicious of his promise, but slightly relieved.

"Than-" the second girl began, but her words and life was caught off as Thomas dug his nails into her chest, clutching her still beating heart in his palm.

He took a sweet few seconds to watch as different emotions passed through her eyes, before ripping her heart clean from her chest.

"Ahhh!!!" The first girl screamed at the horror of watching her friend die right beside her.

But hers came next and swiftly. Thomas also ripped her beating core out of her, as her pupils turned cold and empty, and her lifeless body falling to the ground with a low thud.

Without even sparing the other girl a glance, Thomas fetched a white handke from his pocket, wiping his bloody hand as he strode towards the door and also stepped out.

He was more concerned about where his brother that always sent most of his days in his chambers, was off to. Whether he liked it or not, he had been given a direct order to observe Ian's movement during their stay here.

"Babysitting job," Thomas mumbled to himself, staring at the clear sky, the sun blazing hot.

Scoffing, he proceeded, walking towards one of the cars. The butler standing nearby jogged over, and handed him the key to the car.

"Clean the mess inside and start the preparation for dinner." Thomas instructed the young butler, as the engine roared to life.

"Yes, master Thomas," the butler responded with a low bow, before his Master drove off.

....

After working on several report all night till morning, Ian felt overwhelmed for some reason. He wasn't accustomed to such feelings so he decided to step out for a bit.

Of course when he saw Thomas with the maids, he wasn't concerned, as he never bothered with matters of the house.

When he stepped out, the overwhelming feeling only intensified, like there was somewhere he needed to be at the moment. So he left almost in a haste, without bothering to use one of the vehicles, he went straight into the woods.

After walking for a while, he could already smell some wolves at a distance. He was getting close to town. He slowed down his pace, when he caught the smell of blood in the air, mixed with the smell of wolfsbane.

An ordinary Vampire wouldn't have caught the smell from that distance, but he was different. He continued on his trail, and soon he saw soon people around a particular tree, where the scent was coming from, and there she was.

The wolf he had rescued from Thomas's clutches last night. Tied up to a tree and brutal getting wiped on her back with a thorny whip, repeatedly. He could now clearly hear her painful cries, each time the whip made contact with her skin through the torn dress she was wearing, cutting and slicing her, before it would be pulled back and the same sequence repeated again.

Although he always wore an expressionless face, just like that moment. Ian felt a wave of anger rush through him.

The whip, landed on her back again for the number what time, she couldn't remember. She had long stopped counting since fifty.

Yes, fifty. She was on her third punisher, and the rest were just waiting, like savage dogs, to have their turn with her.

"Ahhh!" Another scream cut through her exhausted lungs, as she was hit again.

Her eyes were weak, and closing. She was sure she would pass out at any moment, not just from the pains but from the blood loss.

'How long has it been? Is mother okay?...' she hazily thought.

They were going to kill her, and probably leave her body for insects to feed on. She shut her eyes, waiting for the next stroke to hit her, but nothing came. She still continued to wait, but it still never came.

She felt the ropes bounding her wrist around the tree getting loose, but she too weak to open her eyes again. After freeing her, she felt someone carry her. But she couldn't be fully sure if she was getting carried, as it felt as though she was floating through soft clouds.

No more pain, no more whips, just pure nothingness. Was she dead?

The question settled on her hazy, slowly slipping mind.

If this was what death felt like, then she would gladly accept this precious gift. And just like that everything turned completely dark and silent.
