Chapter 9 - Tempted To Take A Bite

As if the sound of her voice only seemed to vex him even more. He bared his fangs at her.

"Are you in the mood to die by my hands girl," he said, his tone sounding rough like he was now struggling to maintain his control.

When her back finally hit the door, she turned around, trying to open the door, but it wouldn't budge. It was locked, at of all things, the door was locked.

Camelia's heart rate was already over the rooftop, beating like it would jump out of her chest at any moment. She looked back to check the man's position, but to her horror, he was right behind her.

Before she could react, Ian reached for her neck, slamming her forcefully to the door.

"Ahhh!" she shrieked, frantically trashing to pry his hands away from her neck, but his grip was just too strong even for her strength.

While she struggled to be free of him. Ian's gaze were pinned on her exposed shoulder. His throat burning with thirst. Every instinct in his body screaming at him to sink his fangs into her then and there.

But when his eyes met her, and saw the tears pooling down her face. Something stronger seemed to put his hunger at bay. He slowly released her, shutting his eyes.

"Leave," he commanded, his voice breaking low, but still harsh.

Not wasting a moment, Camelia sprinted towards the window across the room.

Prying it open, she peered down at the ground, before jumping out, landing on the ground with ease as there wasn't too much of a height. She immediately took running into the woods, she didn't dare look back or care that she wasn't putting on anything to cover her feet.

Her bare feet crunched the dried leaves and twigs as she ran through the trees without stopping. After a few minutes of running, she finally had to stop, her lungs were burning from exhaustion.

Heaving rapidly for breath, she leaned against a tree bark, gasping for air. Sweet drenched and disheveled, her hair cling to the side of her temples, some sticking to her back.

She blinked her eyes several times as she slowly slide to the ground. She couldn't bring herself to run any further, she could feel herself about to pass out from the exhaustion.

She wasn't yet recovered from the previous day's beating. She groaned as she leaned towards her knees, her hand reaching to feel her back. However she immediately frowned when she couldn't feel any wounds. Her mind had been so occupied before to even think about it.

But there was no pain. She was supposed to be in pains. Or was she just took tired to feel the pains.

"Camelia."

The sudden voice had her jolting upright to her feet. But she immediately calm down when she saw who had called her. It was her best friend.

He seemed to be shocked to see her there.

"Dart," she called his name in relief, forcing a weak smile before collapsing to the ground.

She saw him rush towards her, as everything went black around her.

....

Ian remained in the same position even after Camelia was long gone. He was afraid that if he moved even an inch, he wouldn't be able to stop himself from going after her and hunt her.

It was in his nature after all to enjoy a chase. His eyes scanned across the room, falling on the painting again, before moving to the broken glass shards on the ground. She was long gone, but he could still smell her. Her scent littered all over the place and her blood clung to the air.

"Fuck," he cursed, shutting his eyes tightly.

What a delirium. To think he'd lost his control like that. He hadn't react this way yesterday, even when he had smelled her blood, his shirt had even been coated in it from carrying her. So why did he lose it like that today.

Finally, he moved, striding over to the shattered glass on the floor. Bending on one knee, he picked up a shard that had Camelia's blood on it, rubbing his thumb over it.

The door lobe clicked, the door opening. Ian's ears picked up on the sound, but he didn't bother turning around, he already knew who it was.

"Tell me Thomas..." he said, dropping the glass back on the ground as he rose.

"Do you want to start a war here?"

Thomas who was standing by the door, tilted his head at his brother.

"What ever do you mean?" he asked feigning confusion at Ian's question.

"You locked the door on purpose, didn't you," Ian said, his face expressionless as he stared out the window. "You wanted me to kill her."

Looking around the room, Thomas took a step forward, his gaze settling on his brother's back.

"You misunderstand me brother."

"And how is that?" Ian's voice remained calm, but one could sense the danger beneath his tone.

"I saw the way you held her yesterday," Thomas started. "Even after bringing her here. You looked so desperate when you forced Aria to heal her, but of course that wasn't enough as you went ahead to feed her your blood to completely heal her wounds–"

"So?" Ian cut in, his patients wearing thin "Get to the point."

"You like her, so instead of just killing her off after she leaves, I thought it would be best if you atleast had a proper taste of her. Wouldn't be proper to deprive you of such a meal after you've gone for so long without eating a single thing." Thomas said, a wicked smile gracing his face.

"I mean, why wait and make the kill even harder. I doubt her Alpha would care if we killed one female wolf. They obviously seemed to hate her and–"

Thomas immediately shut up when he sensed the change in his brother's aura. He gulped, stepping back as the room suddenly felt ten times hotter the air growing thinner and thinner making it hard for him to breath.

"Calm down." Thomas said, trying to calm Ian, but it was already too late.

He reached for his neck, choking for air, he could feel his blood beginning to boil under his skin. He groaned in pain, falling to his knees, sweating profusely.

All this while, Ian remained standing simply doi

ng nothing but stare out the window with a blank face, devoid of any and every emotion.
