Chapter 5 - Micheal Donovan’s pov

I couldn't believe my eyes, just maybe Devine was right, this had to be some kind of prank being played on me by some random teenagers, "This has to be a joke." I shuddered in great disbelief. Blue eyed blonde girl standing in front of me claimed to be the blackmailers who's tormenting and trying to ruin my life at the same time. I chuckled not just because this was funny but because I couldn't believe this child put me on the tip of my toes.

"now you have a face!" She said fiercely. As much as she tried to put the tough girl act up, it wasn't working on me at all, I couldn't look past the beady blue eyes and golden blonde hair. I would least expect someone like her in such setting.

My mind was still clouded by thoughts, I was too busy trying to fathom how this whole thing was going on when she pulled a gun out of her back pocket, "Woah! Woah!! Woah!! Easyyyyy" I put my two hands up in the air, "Careful with … it's not a toy."

"Oh, I know that, now as we were saying? I demand you give me an internship slot in your company… —"

"An internship slot?!"

"Not just that, I want a pant job as a senior employee in your company."

I couldn't help but burst into loud laughter at the demands, "Do I really look like I have nothing important to do? Is this really why you called me out here?"

"I'm not laughing or joking with you!" She raised her voice and clocked the gun, "Easy tiger! Take it easy, believe me, if you pull that trigger, neither of us will get what we want and as far as I'm concerned, you need this more than I do.

"I've done my part of the deal! There's no time for chit chat."

"All you want is an internship and a job and that's why you did all this?"

"Not just that… I want marriage too!"

"you wa— Marriage?! … This is — I'm not doing that—" she stretched her arm out pointing the gun at me at the same time, "You don't have a choice here! If I can't get what I want then you're not leaving here alive, I promise you."

"so What do you say? Do we have a deal?"

"I can't believe this is happening !" I sighed once more. From the looks of things she just seemed to be a desperate kid who needed a job and internship spot, truth be told, she had nothing to loose, meanwhile, a career I spent almost all my entire life building was what she was willing and so ready to destroy in a matter of minute, "You have a deal."

"How do I know I can trust you?!"

"Paper work will be sent in, in about a week you will be invited to the company for an interview and —"

"No!!!!"

"What? No what?"

" I don't want to be invited over for any Interview! I want to a special invite from the ceo and founder of the company, I don't want to go through all those tedious steps."

"Humph! Just — whatever you say. Next week, you'll be invited to the —"

"Next week?! I want it as soon as possible I'm talking tomorrow, I don't trust you, and if you try any funny business, I'm gonna ruin your career, trust me."

I chuckled softly and shook my head, with a smirk on my face, "You shouldn't be doing this, I would think someone like you would fit perfectly in the 'straight A student category.'

"Shut the fuck up, sir!" She interrupted with a forced smile, "You're in no position to judge my life! I know what you did with Leonardo Fibonacci"

I cleared my throat at the sensitive topic she was trying to bring up.

"I'm gonna let you go, but if I don't receive a call from your office tomorrow, I'm gonna jump into conclusions that you didn't keep to your part of the deal and before the end of tomorrow, I'm throwing you off."

And after burning a glare through me, she dispersed through the back and for some reason, I was still cracked up by this, on the bright side, I knew what she wanted and I was certain she wasn't going to ruin my carrier if I didn't play my role in this little game of hers.

Just the perfect thing to kick me out of my thoughts, Devine was calling, "Man, where the hell are you?" I turned around and headed straight to the car and drove myself right back home, "Devine, what are you about to rattle about now?"

"It's almost midnight, I'm trying to have a goodnight, why's Lana calling me and begging me to tell her who you were with?"

"Lana called you?! how'd she even get your phone number?!"

"Is that what you're worried about? Where are you? Shirley said you left the office earlier than usual."

"I went to see Lana. And I'm already on my way home."

"If you were with Lana then why is she calling to ask if I've seen you since this evening?"

"Oh my goodness, Devine… do u also refer to you as Daddy?"

"What are you —"

"Look I'll talk to you later."

"Take Lana's phone calls—" before he could finish his statement, I hung up the phone. While making my way through the driveway, I got the chance to open my phone and noticed Lana had been trying to reach me. I dialed Shirley's phone number and as I stepped it, she picked up, "Good evening sir, I hope you're having a good evening,"

"Yeah I'm gonna need you to do something for me before tomorrow."

"Alright sir, what do you want me to do."
