Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

Sean stood silent, his almond eyes taken aback by the blessing given to him. Home? What is home? I never felt at home. I miss Tabatha.

"Your home is a modern medieval cottage from the history of humans. We fashioned this home for you because you enjoyed fantasy novels. Some homes are similar to olden style, while other homes look like they are from the 21st century."

Sean ran forward, breaking out of his awe-struck trance, yanking the front door open. "This two-bedroom one-story condo is mine. This design is my own. No one will tell me I can't have this or that."

"To an extent, yes, you can go and purchase items. This is not paradise; we do give you modest accommodations." Samantha looked at Sean, who was gazing up at her with warm eyes. "You receive 5000 gold coins to shop at the mall for anything you need or want." There is a bank where you can save up your money. The currency is from Paradise. So, you may feel a bit woozy with euphoria when you first touch it. The gold coins are in a chest over there."

Sean was too busy looking around to a one-story home he didn't notice the giant red chest with a golden lock on it in the far-right corner. Wow. This is like out of a movie.

The calm angel bowed, her cotton candy hair nearly touching the floor. "I've watched you your whole life, so, I was the one who did the research. Though I'm not with you always, I am with you often. There are times where I do have to return here to check up on others. I definitely was there when you almost died when you were five years old."

"Oh yeah, my mom told me I almost drowned in the backyard pool. She told me it was a miracle I came back to life." Sean walked over to the red chest as he felt a smile come over his face.

Samantha nodded. "It was the choice of the Goddess Anastasia to bring you back to life. I was given power by her to put life back into your bones. You will continue to study and understand how mana impacts the earth and what it means to be a spiritual creature. This is not going to be easy. Salvation is going to take work."

"You know, no one ever believed in me growing up. They tolerated me. It was like I was in a dream of sorts. I often watched TV and placed myself as a character in the show. I could have a family that cared for and loved me. I guess this was maybe why I gave my parents so much hell growing up."

Samantha looked away for a moment. "You've had a long journey. I would get some rest and go shopping tomorrow. We do not operate on your concept of time here in the Dreamweaver's Society. Since we work with humans, we use standard twenty-four hours, and we replicate night to make you feel comfortable. The love of Anastasia or pure mana energy is light enough to cover all this place she created. So, night will fall, and there will be rain and all the elements you experienced when you were on Earth."

Sean started to tremble for a moment, and he put his hands on his chest. "Will I ever be able to go back?" Tears started to flow on his cheeks.

Samantha looked at Sean with twinkling eyes. Oh dear.

Sean wobbled a bit, his eyelid blinking rapidly. "I feel like I'm going to throw up."

Samantha walked up to Sean and put her hand on his forehead. Without a word, Sean's body went limp, as if put into a coma.

Young one, you are so much more important to me than you know Samantha thought, looking at Sean, who was passed out. He almost threw upon himself, and then he would have gone to the doctor for spiritual healing. I'm glad I was here to help him. She smiled as she carried his limp body over to the bed. "Rest, sweet one. You're going to need all your strength for what lies ahead." Samantha gently stroked his head. Bending down, her lips met his forehead. She cast a final glance at him before closing the front door.
