Chapter 9 - Chapter 9

Sean wanted to punch Macedon in the face, but he knew better than to challenge the muscle-bound freak. "Thank you for the help." He bowed, never taking his eyes off his trainer.

Macedon huffed, lowering his neck, slowly acknowledging Sean, offering, "You're going to need a lot more than help to survive out there, kid."

Samantha leaped up as she walked over to Sean, putting her hand on his shoulder. "Don't worry, you'll make it, now onto the next part of training."

The angel took a right outside the door going to another hallway which was littered with images of cats and dogs in suits.

Sean observed the photos, the sweat taking time to dry on his skin. The pictures reminded him of the viral videos he used to watch. "Where are we going?" Sean asked.

"The person you're going to meet is good-hearted but a bit different." Samantha opened the door, and he walked into a small circular sphere of sorts. There was a woman standing there talking to herself. She giggled out loud at Samantha and Sean.

A female voice piped up. "Warrior Angel, you are here with another victim… I mean person. I can't help myself; I am ready to torture this poor soul. He doesn't even know what's about to happen."

Sean wanted to turn around, but the door behind him magically disappeared. He huddled closer to Samantha. The terror swelled over his body. Who or what in the world is she?

"This is Emery," Samantha says. "She is, I would say, a test of your mental fitness."

"Yes, my tests are the hardest, and I do my research to make sure the questions in my exams will put your mind in a tizzy. I will not push you but help you become the best Dreamweaver possible." The chubby angel twirled in circles forty-five times. She jumped up into the air and slammed her hand on the desk. "I don't mess around. This shit is about to get real."

"I didn't know angels cussed," Sean said. She's going to kill my brain, if I even have one left. Do I even have a brain? That balance its other worldly.

Samantha didn't seem bothered with the antics. She went over to the small couch on the left-hand side and told Sean to step up to the desk.

"Can I at least get something to drink?" Sean said.

"Do you think all of this happens by accident? You should be in The Void right now, a person like you. Selfish, trying to put on a good front. I am wasting my time with you. I do what the Goddess Alexis tells me to. We are short on Dreamweaver's, and even if you aren't quality, I will make you sufficient. Take a seat," Emery said. She snapped her fingers, tilting her head to the right winking mischievously.

Before Sean could walk forward, he felt his butt land in a soft chair. The chair sped forward. At the same time, a strap came over his lap, strapping him into the seat.

"You have two hours to finish this test." Her pink and black dress flowed around her. She was thrilled and skipped around Sean, who couldn't move at all.

"Relax, Sean, I'm here, nothing can happen to you," Samantha said.

"Are you sure about that!?" Sean looked over, his eyes wide at his Guardian Angel. "I feel like I'm about to die. I'm good, man, I'm good. Get me out of his chair. Send me to The Void."

Emery stopped looking over at Sean, her blue eyes fierce as the ocean's waves. "Don't you dare say those words," she said. "It is by the grace of Anastasia you are sitting in this seat. You were destined for The Void, and Samantha vouched for you. She spoke of your mediocre good deeds in front of the council."

Sean sat there, his eyes surveying Samantha. What did she do? He was lost in his thoughts until he felt Emery pat him on the shoulder.

Emery leaned in close to Sean's ear. "She can tell you the rest when she's ready. Now it's time for your test." The plump angel then put a small cup in front of her and poured coffee. She mixed in two creamers and three sugars. "There you go," she said putting the brown cup in front of Sean. "You have two hours."

Sean gripped his pen; his mind raced as he looked at the first question. His mouth dropped in awe.
