"Big brother… I've finished choosing."
Lu Nian checked them carefully, worried the little girl might pick impractical things due to lack of experience. But in the end, he realized he had underestimated her.
Everything she chose was essential—food, medicine for her injured sisters, clothes. Nothing unnecessary.
"What's wrong?" Yun asked softly while drinking milk, noticing Lu Nian's strange expression.
"It's nothing," Lu Nian replied with a smile. "I just realized I underestimated you."
As he spoke, he gently rubbed her head and split each card into multiple smaller cards. Once items were taken out, they couldn't be resealed, so he divided them by daily portions.
That way, Yun and her sisters only needed to break one card at a time.
"The total value is 0.09 Origin," Lu Nian said. "Are you sure this is all you want?"
"Yes," Yun nodded seriously. "Thank you, big brother."
But then she hesitated, clutching her cards anxiously.
Did big brother lose money because of Yun…?
Snap.
Her forehead was flicked lightly.
Lu Nian sighed, rubbing her head gently. His palm was warm and reassuring.
"Don't worry," he said softly. "Different things have different values to different people. Food and clothes are precious to you—but to me, they're insignificant. Meanwhile, the protoenterovirus you didn't want… is valuable to me."
Yun leaned into his hand like a small kitten, finally relaxing.
