Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: God Mode: The Captain America Protocol

Rollin stared in shock at the small line of text floating in the upper left corner of his vision.

[Map Editor: Version 1.0]

Beside it sat a progress bar: [Anomaly Points: 0/100].

Rollin blinked. As his gaze swept across the classroom, the system pinged rapidly.

[Anomaly Targets Detected: Madison, Peter, Harry, Mary Jane.]

[Reward: +400 Anomaly Points.]

[Map Editor Upgraded to Version 1.2. Anomaly Points: 100/300.]

The 3D holographic projection expanded instantly, pushing its boundaries to cover a three-hundred-meter radius.

"Anomaly Points? Anomaly Targets? Does that mean..."

Rollin's eyes darted around, scanning through walls into the other Senior classes, and even down to the Junior section.

[Anomaly Targets Detected: Dave, Connors, Mikaela, Sam, Maria, The Dragon Ring of Merlin.]

[Reward: +600 Anomaly Points.]

[Map Editor Upgraded to Version 1.4. Anomaly Points: 0/500.]

The projection doubled in size again, covering a six-hundred-meter radius. The entire public high school was now mapped within his mind.

"If this really is a Map Editor, then..."

With a mental command, Rollin clicked on his own avatar in the projection. A character sheet popped up.

Name: Rollin (Civilian)

Attributes: Strength 8, Intelligence 8, Agility 8, Endurance 9, Soul Strength 10, Energy 0.

Inventory: Empty (6 Slots).

Skills: None.

Rating: A mediocrity among mediocrities.

(System Note: The standard human peak for the first five attributes is 10. Attributes are interdependent. Intelligence governs mana regeneration, processing speed, and memory. Agility governs movement speed and reflexes. Strength and Endurance govern physical power, damage resistance, and regeneration.)

Rollin's heart skipped a beat. The attribute fields were editable.

He focused on the stat block. He mentally double-clicked the numbers and found he could input new values. After a quick test to find the current version's cap, he redefined his existence.

[Attributes Updated:]

[Strength 40 | Intelligence 40 | Agility 40 | Endurance 40 | Soul Strength 40 | Energy 40]

He clicked [Confirm].

A mysterious, torrential power flooded his body. The transformation was instantaneous. His muscles tightened and defined, avoiding the grotesque bulk of a bodybuilder but achieving a perfect, lethal aesthetic. He could feel the terrifying kinetic energy humming beneath his skin.

"My physical specs are now four times that of a peak human. Rounding up... am I the new Captain America?!"

For a moment, the reality of it felt dreamlike.

He casually picked up a steel pen. With the slightest pinch of his fingers, the metal snapped like a dry twig.

Rollin grinned, his eyes burning with excitement. "I'm the apex predator now!"

Of course, Rollin knew he wasn't invincible yet. Captain America's stats were only impressive on paper. In the movies, Cap fought gods with a Vibranium shield and sheer grit. But in reality?

Asgardian foot soldiers in Thor: Ragnarok filled entire plazas. Every single one of them was a max-level warrior with enchanted gear and centuries of combat experience.

Rollin reined in his ego and continued exploring his Cheat Code.

It really was a mutated version of the Warcraft III World Editor. At Version 1.4, besides editing attributes, he could access the Skill Library and equip six "Basic Skills."

He could swap these skills at will, meaning there was theoretically no limit to his arsenal. As the version upgraded, the number of slots would increase.

Before he transmigrated, the map he had been building on his PC was a massive "Battle of the Heavens" scenario—a chaotic crossover including characters from comics, movies, and anime. Consequently, the library was stocked with thousands of abilities.

Naruto, Dragon Ball, The King of Fighters, Madoka Magica, CrossFire... it was all there.

Chaos was the only rule.

Once the editor leveled up further, he would be able to create custom skills and items from scratch. But for now, he had to choose from the presets.

After some deliberation, Rollin selected a balanced loadout:

Gravity Core: (Offense/Defense)

Blink: (Evasion/Mobility)

Kinetic Field: (Crowd Control)

Chidori: (High-Output Damage)

Holy Light: (Healing/Special Damage vs. Undead)

Flamestrike: (AOE Damage)

There were no cooldowns. As long as he had Energy (Mana), he could spam them. Since these were classified as "Basic Skills," they only consumed about 2 Energy points per cast.

"Not bad. Now this is how an Isekai start should go."

Rollin nodded with satisfaction, then turned his attention to the Editor's innate environmental controls.

Within the 3D projection range, Rollin could telekinetically relocate any non-living object. Uninhabited houses, streetlights, billboards, trees, walls, pools—he could move them all.

The restriction: He couldn't place an object directly on top of a living being to crush them.

However, he could use them to block paths, create instant cages, or alter the battlefield. It was an incredibly tactical ability.

Rollin spent the entire school day secretly testing his Gold Finger, mastering the basic functions.

"The potential is infinite," Rollin mused. "As the version goes up, I won't just get higher stats. I'll unlock the heavy hitters."

"Right now, the God-Tier units are locked. Aurelion Sol, Sargeras, Sun Wukong, Madoka Kaname, Glitter Tiga, Noah, Queen of Blades, Asura... the list is endless."

"And then there are the 'Toon Force' special guests like Popeye, Tom & Jerry, and Big Bad Wolf."

"A game only has to worry about balance. Reality doesn't care. The Map Editor can eventually create anything, even things that don't exist yet."

"Plus, I can scan 'Anomaly Objects' in the real world. Any crossover character or item I find gets added to the database... effectively becoming part of my power!"

Rollin felt the future brightening.

Who cares about the Four Great Slashers? Who cares about cannibal psychiatrists?

He had one thing to say: I can do this all day.

[Riiiing!]

The final bell rang. Rollin packed his bag and walked out with Madison.

"By the way, Madison. About the weekend trip," Rollin said. "I've thought it over. Pick anywhere you want. I'm in."

Madison's beautiful eyes widened in surprise. "I thought we agreed on the amusement park?"

Rollin replied with a serious expression. "The amusement park isn't exciting enough. I need some pressure. I need a challenge. Well, except for Elm Street and Silent Hill."

Among the Four Slashers, Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees were the trickiest.

Jason was an undead tank who could resurrect infinitely and get stronger as he fought.

Freddy had similar immortality but operated in the Dream World—he was a master of psychological torture who couldn't be killed by physical means.

Dealing with Freddy was a headache because he didn't manifest in reality.

As for Silent Hill... the first movie was survivable. But if the world logic followed the second game or later entries? That was a direct train to Hell.

"Not exciting enough?" Madison looked confused. Wasn't a roller coaster exciting?

"Okay then! Let's go to Camp Crystal Lake. The internet says it's the perfect getaway for teenagers."

"OK. Meet at your place tomorrow morning."

Rollin nodded and accepted decisively.

If he wanted to get stronger, he had to actively hunt for Anomaly Targets.

As one of the Four Great Slashers, Jason Voorhees surely wouldn't disappoint.
