Chapter 20 - Chapter - 20 Moonlit Silver Inn

Chapter - 20 Moonlit Silver Inn

Days passed.

Aren, Lira, Seris, and Lucien were taking quest missions every day.

In the Adventurers' Guild

"You guys did a great job," Fiora continued.

"Congratulations, Aren. Your party has completed eight F-Rank missions without failure. The guild has approved your promotion to E-Rank."

"Promotion?" said Aren.

Fiora replied with a smile, "When a party completes eight F-Rank missions, they are promoted to E-Rank."

She continued, "Please give me your guild cards."

"Okay," said Lucien.

Aren, Lira, and Seris nodded.

After Fiora took their guild cards, she said, "Wait for only two minutes."

"We're really promoted to E-Rank," said Seris with a smile.

They looked at her.

Lira smiled. "Yes, Seris sis, it's amazing that we're promoted to E-Rank," she said proudly.

"How about we celebrate this?" Aren continued. "What do you guys think?"

Lira replied quickly with shining eyes, "OKAY, Big Brother!" She continued excitedly, "Right, Seris and Lucien?"

Seris nodded.

Lucien thought for a moment.

"Well, fine," he replied with a smile.

A Few Minutes Later

Fiora came back and gave them their guild cards. Their F-Rank had turned into E-Rank, and the gray card color had turned green.

They took their guild cards.

"E-Rank…" Lucien thought.

He smiled.

"How about we check the E-Rank missions now?" said Aren.

"OKAY!" Lira replied, raising her fist.

Seris didn't say anything.

"What do you think, Lucien?" she asked.

"Well, this is the beginning of the novel, then—" Lucien thought.

"Okay, let's check the E-Rank quest missions," he replied.

Seris smiled.

After they looked at the E-Rank mission board, there were no E-Rank quest missions available.

"So, there's no luck today," said Lucien.

Aren replied, "Well, I think so."

Lira and Seris nodded.

After they left the Adventurers' Guild, Seris and Lira went home first, and Lucien and Aren went to buy some food for dinner.

On the Way

"Hey, Aren," Lucien said.

Aren looked at Lucien.

"Why don't we start living in an inn?" said Lucien.

"Huh?" Aren continued, "An inn? Well, we've now become E-Rank adventurers, and in the future we'll earn more money, then—"

"OKAY, Lucien!" he said excitedly.

"He doesn't ask any questions," Lucien thought.

Lucien thought of this because they couldn't live in that place forever, and they were starting to earn more money than usual.

After they bought food, they went home.

A Few Minutes Later

They finished their food.

"Thanks for the food," they all said.

After Lucien explained about the inn to Seris and Lira while sitting on the floor—

"Inn?" Seris and Lira said.

Lira asked, "What do you think, Big Brother?"

Aren replied, "I was also thinking of this. After all, we can't live in this place forever."

Lucien nodded.

Seris didn't say anything, then—

"Okay," she said.

Lira looked at Seris.

"Fine."

Lucien smiled.

"We are going to shift to the inn tomorrow," he said.

"Tomorrow?" said Lira and Aren.

Next Day

Lucien woke up early.

He looked at the rising sun.

A few minutes later, Aren also woke up, still sleepy.

"What are you doing, Lucien?" he said.

"Nothing, just looking at the sky," Lucien replied.

"The sky?" said Aren.

After looking around, Aren saw the two half-broken swords.

Minutes passed.

Seris and Lira woke up.

After they all ate breakfast—

"Let's go to the inn," Lucien said with a smile.

Seris and Aren nodded.

But Lira was sad because she was going to leave this place.

Aren and Seris went to pack the important things.

Lucien patted Lira's head.

"We'll come to see this place again," said Lucien.

Lira replied with teary eyes, "Really?"

"Yes," Lucien said with a smile.

Then they packed the remaining important things.

A Few Minutes Later

"We have packed everything," said Seris.

"Then, let's—" said Lucien, but Aren cut him off.

"Lucien."

Aren threw a half wooden sword to Lucien. He grabbed it.

"What about this?" asked Lucien.

Aren replied excitedly, "How about we plant our swords in the ground and make an X shape? What do you think, Lucien?"

"Huh? Is this really important?" said Lucien.

"Well, you can say that, but it's for memories," said Aren.

"Memories…" Lucien said.

Then he smiled and thought, How childish.

After they both planted their swords in the ground, they formed an X shape.

"When we grow up, we're going to see this, Lucien," said Aren.

Lucien replied, "Fine."

They both smiled.

After they heard Seris' voice—

"Lucien and Aren, let's go," she said.

"Okay," they both replied.

Lira and Seris waved their hands at the place.

After they left and walked some distance—

"Well, where are we going now?" said Aren.

Lira quickly looked at Aren.

"Now, we will go to Moonlit Silver Inn," Lucien replied.

"Moonlit Silver Inn?" said Aren.

After hearing Lucien's words, Lira breathed in relief.

Seris smiled at Lira's expression.

Lira noticed and made a childish mad face.

"How far is it from here?" Aren asked.

"Just a little bit," Lucien replied.

Hours Passed.

"When are we going to reach Moonlit Silver Inn?" said Lira, tired.

"We are about to reach," said Lucien.

"Well, Lucien," Seris continued, "do you really think this is the way to the inn?"

"Yes," Lucien replied.

Lucien knew why Seris thought that, because this place looked abandoned and there was no one around.

A Few Minutes Later

"This is the inn I was talking about," Lucien said excitedly.

"THIS?" said Aren.

The inn stood quietly at the corner of the street.

From the outside, it looked old and tired.

The wooden walls were dark and rough. Some parts were cracked, as if rain and wind had hit them for many years. The roof tiles were uneven, and the wooden sign above the door hung slightly crooked.

Several barrels were placed outside. A red-and-white cloth stretched over the front, giving shade to small shelves filled with goods.

At first glance, it didn't look special.

It looked like a cheap place for travelers who didn't have much money.

Aren frowned.

"Are we really staying here?"

Lira crossed her arms. "It looks like it might collapse at any time."

Seris stayed quiet, but she also didn't look impressed.

Only Lucien calmly stared at the building.

He didn't say anything.

He pushed the door open.

The moment they stepped inside—

They froze.

Warm light filled the room. Soft golden lanterns hung from the ceiling. The wooden floor was smooth and clean, shining under the light.

There was no dust.

No broken chairs.

No bad smell.

Instead, the air smelled like fresh bread and herbs.

The tables were neatly arranged. The counter was polished. Glass cups behind the counter sparkled as if they had just been washed.

It felt peaceful.

Comfortable.

Safe.

Aren blinked. "This… this is the same place, right?"

Lira slowly turned around, looking at every corner. "No way…"

Seris touched one of the tables gently. It was clean.

Lucien gave a small smile.

"What do you think of this?" he said quietly.

Aren replied with shining eyes, "Amazing."

Lira and Seris nodded.

Lucien knew this place because it appeared in the novel.

Aren and Lira had lived in this place in the novel.

"Welcome to my inn," said the old lady.

They looked at her.

"We…"
