Chapter 29 - Part28:The Battle to Retake Inazuma

In the land of Inazuma, the people had long suffered under the cruel rule of Yuan Shu's forces. Boasting strong armies and mighty warriors, Yuan Shu harbored ambitious dreams of establishing his own hegemony in this foreign realm. He cared nothing for the lives of Inazuma's people, imposing heavy taxes at will and leaving them in endless misery.

Kujou Sara, adopted daughter of the Kujou Clan of the Tenryou Commission and a great general of the Shogun's Army, carried the blood of the tengu. Taken in by the Kujou at a young age and placed under the Tenryou Commission, she devoted her entire loyalty to the Electro Archon, shouldering the duty of maintaining peace and stability across Inazuma. In her daily life, she moved like the wind and spoke with unshakable resolve—a woman of extraordinary courage, decisive in battle and fearless in combat. Under her leadership, the Shogun's Army maintained strict discipline. Yet, facing the overwhelming military pressure from Yuan Shu, she could only bide her time in silence, waiting for the moment to strike back.

Kamisato Ayato, current head of the Kamisato Clan of the Yashiro Commission, possessed exceptional courage and first‑class resourcefulness. Though the Kamisato Clan had risen greatly in prestige under his rule, many affairs of the Yashiro Commission were severely restricted under Yuan Shu's reign. On the surface, Ayato played along with Yuan Shu's regime, but in secret, he reached out to various forces and built up strength for the coming resistance.

Gorou, general of the Watatsumi Island Resistance, was utterly loyal to Sangonomiya Kokomi, just as Kujou Sara was loyal to the Electro Archon. He led the Watatsumi Island Resistance in a stubborn struggle against Yuan Shu's forces. Though their strength was relatively small, they never abandoned hope.

One day, news spread like a spring breeze into their long‑oppressed world—Yuan Shu was dead from illness! In an instant, the flames of resistance ignited in their hearts.

Upon hearing the news, Kujou Sara immediately summoned her most trusted officers. Her eyes shone with unwavering determination as she declared:

"Yuan Shu is dead. His forces are leaderless. Now is our perfect chance to counterattack! For too long we have endured their oppression. Today, we fight for Inazuma's freedom!"

Her officers nodded in agreement, their morale soaring.

Kamisato Ayato also contacted Kujou Sara at once, and the two discussed a plan for a joint campaign. Seated in his study at the Yashiro Commission, twirling a brush in his hand, Ayato analyzed calmly:

"Yuan Shu may be dead, but his forces are still not to be underestimated. His great generals—Ji Ling, Zhang Xun, Li Feng, Le Jiu—each possesses the courage of a thousand men. We must not take them lightly."

Kujou Sara nodded slightly in response.

"Well spoken, Lord Kamisato. But we have our own advantages. The Shogun's Army under my command is well‑trained, and the Kamisato Clan holds great prestige in the hearts of Inazuma's people. United as one, we shall deal them a heavy blow."

Meanwhile, Gorou led the Watatsumi Island Resistance in a swift march toward the main battlefield. Along the way, he rallied his soldiers:

"Comrades! Our resistance is finally turning the tide! Yuan Shu is dead—their end has come! Together, we fight for Watatsumi Island… for all of Inazuma!"

The soldiers shouted in unison, their morale like a rising tide.

The battle began.

Kujou Sara took the lead, charging at the head of the Shogun's Army toward the enemy lines. She wielded her spear with fearsome skill, unleashing the full power of Tengu Lightning: Bind—bolts of lightning crashed down from the sky, shaking the enemy's morale. Under her command, the Shogun's Army advanced triumphantly, quickly breaking through the enemy's first line of defense.

Kamisato Ayato, using his outstanding strategy, directed the Kamisato samurai in a flanking maneuver. His gaze was calm and sharp, constantly observing the battlefield and adjusting tactics. Under his command, the Kamisato warriors moved in perfect coordination, inflicting heavy casualties on the enemy.

Gorou's Watatsumi Island Resistance fought just as fiercely. With unyielding determination, they engaged the enemy in brutal close combat. Gorou charged ahead, firing precise arrow after precise arrow from his bow. Under his leadership, the resistance fought like tigers unleashed upon the battlefield.

For all their bravery, Yuan Shu's generals could not withstand the combined assault of Kujou Sara, Kamisato Ayato, and Gorou. Ji Ling wielded his three-pointed double-edged blade in a desperate attempt to turn the tide, but under the combined attack of Sara and Gorou, he eventually fought to his last breath. Zhang Xun, Li Feng, Le Jiu, and others fell one after another in the fierce fighting, and their armies descended into chaos.

As the battle raged on, Yuan's forces completely collapsed.

Kujou Sara, Kamisato Ayato, and Gorou pressed forward in victory, breaking through all resistance and swiftly seizing the core stronghold of Yuan Shu's forces.

Yuan Yao, Yuan Shu's son, tried to flee in the confusion—but Kujou Sara's sharp eyes spotted him. A flash of killing intent crossed her gaze, and she chased after him without hesitation.

In a narrow street, Sara caught up to Yuan Yao. She pointed her spear directly at his throat and said coldly:

"Your father brought endless disaster to Inazuma. Today is your day of reckoning."

With that, she thrust her spear forward. Yuan Yao died on the spot, executed in the street, his wicked life brought to an end.

After this fierce battle, Kujou Sara, Kamisato Ayato, and Gorou successfully liberated Inazuma.

Standing atop the walls of the Tenryou Palace, they overlooked the land now free once more, their hearts filled with emotion.

Kujou Sara stared into the distance and declared firmly:

"From this day forward, Inazuma shall return to its people. We will restore this land to its former prosperity!"

Kamisato Ayato and Gorou nodded in agreement.

Through their efforts, Inazuma gradually emerged from the shadow of war and began a new chapter. At long last, the people welcomed the peace and tranquility they had been denied for so long.
