It was a calm, sunny morning in Heila.
Akaimo and his friends were messing around in the garden near the dense forest, laughing, chasing each other, just being kids.
Then—
rustle… rustle…
The bushes nearby shook weirdly.
Akaimo walked over, pushed the leaves aside…
Nothing. Just a single black feather lying on the ground.
He shrugged it off and went back to playing.
But a few minutes later, the bushes rattled again—louder this time.
Everyone heard it, but they were too tired to care. They just ignored it.
That's when everything went wrong.
30 minutes passed.
From the shadows, a Merus monster lunged out, eyes glowing with hunger.
The kids were exhausted—they didn't even have the strength to run.
Within seconds, they were cornered.
Merus Monster:
"Fiery Spike!!"
Flaming spikes shot toward the kids like bullets.
Just before they hit, a teenage boy burst out of nowhere and stood in front of them—
becoming their shield.
The spikes tore into his skin, burning him badly, but he didn't move.
He refused to fall.
Because if he collapsed, every kid behind him was dead.
He clenched his fists and his blue eyes flared open, glowing with power.
Teenager:
"Diamond Blasts!"
Shards of crystal shot from his hands, striking the Merus monster and ripping into its hide.
The monster snarled.
Merus Monster:
"You little pest… then take this!!"
Its body swelled, muscles doubling, eyes turning wild as it entered its Merus Form.
Merus Monster:
"Thunderclap Rush!!"
In a burst of lightning-speed, the monster slammed into the boy.
Electricity tore through him—his entire body shook violently.
He tried to stay standing, but the attack was too much.
He collapsed.
Akaimo froze in terror.
His friends were shaking.
Their only protector had fallen.
Just when all hope seemed gone—
A squad of Malius heroes arrived, clashing against the monster.
They fought brutally, several of them getting injured, but in the end…
they killed it.
The teenager who protected the kids was one of them—a young Malius hero who risked everything to shield strangers.
From that day on, Akaimo made a promise to himself:
"I'll become a Malius hero too.
I'll protect others… just like he protected us."
His friends—Jeisuke, Momoshimo, Shino, and Shizuku—made that same vow.
Years passed.
Akaimo is now 12.
His dream hasn't changed.
