Walking straight ahead to the exit, Shinigami and Yurei soon disappeared from Koizume's view.
Although she was spared, she felt no relief.
Two of her teammates had died, and they had failed to protect Otsuma-Shiyezo-Io, essentially causing the mission to proceed to Plan B immediately. Back when they prepared for this mission, they shaped up two plans.
The first plan was Plan A: the ideal scenario. They would stop all the Ghost Masks themselves and successfully protect Otsuma-Shiyezo-Io. Some might escape, but Arima's squad would deal with them.
But the second plan was the backup, in case something went wrong during the mission. That was Plan B: if the opposing side overpowered them and forced them to retreat, they would redirect all the enemies toward Arima, who was waiting at the exit.
'Arima…'
Koizume's hands quivered. She took out the transceiver from her pocket, barely able to pull it out.
