Chapter 1 - Prologue

There is a solemn atmosphere in duke Blackhart's mansion, the fifth child is born but there's no joy on fear amongst the people present there, the newborn child Ryan is born with dark seed, a spiritual sphere, that resembles mana core, but unlike mana core which is source of power of human practicing mana based powers, the dark seed is a curse, not only it prevents the host from manifesting mana core to wield mana, it also affects the host's sanity which erodes as the dark seed matures, until it fully consumes the host, turning them into monstrosity.

What should we do? The newborn is born with the accursed dark seed.

I heard the dark seed not only make it's host feral but also taint them into a monstrosity.

Poor duchess, to think her son is born with a curse.

But what should we do with the child.

Should we kill the child. I mean, I heard that such child are usually killed immediately after being born.

Let's ask the dukre first.

The servents turned their eyes to the duke, who have solemn expression, the duchess on other hand clutch her newborn child, although Ryan is born with dark seed, he is still her son.

We will spare him.

*gasps*

I said we will spare Ryan.

But master, the child is...

I know, he is born with dark seed, but the child is not at fault, we will make sure he never went feral and cause no harm to other.

(With tears in eyes) I agree, even though our son is cursed, he is still my beloved child, it is not his fault that he is born with dark seed, I can't allow my son Ryan to be killed just because of what's inside him.

Then what's should we do with the child?

We will keep him away from other, I will order the construction of mansion in forest of our duchy, he will live there away from other, we will also assigned the servents to look after Ryan.

The servents although reluctant agreed, no one knew what is running in newborn child's head.

After mansion in forest of Blackhart duchy is built, Ryan was sent there, a group of servants were sent there to look after Ryan, the servants who are chosen were afraid of Ryan because of his dark seed, but Ryan surprisingly well-mannered kid, after he learned to walk and learned to talk, befitting a true noble child, at age of 5, he always indulge in hobbly of reading, writing and praticing combat skills, he also treated servants well, treating them like a family, Ryan is a prodigy in blacksmithing, in this world blacksmithing although appeared to be a labour is widely revered, as in the world of sword and magic, a better blade and armor is sought after in this world, and before the servants knew it they become attached to Ryan, the no longer see their work as a job but an honourable work to fulfill.

I expected of young master, he is a true prodigy.

Normally, even with those herbal medicines, one with dark seed are mentally unstable, but young master is... fine.

He called his weapons, Blackhart dagger, Blackhart sword and Blackhart lance, these weapons are good conductor of mana, the blades are of good quality, thanks to that, young master's personal treasury is full.

Young master is certainly a blacksmithing genius... (his expression changed to sad face), unfortunately, young master is cursed by the dark seed.

That's true.

Poor young master, why fate is so cruel to him.

Let's make sure that our genius young master live a proper life.

While the servants where chatting, Ryan buried himself in book related to the world he transmigrated in.

Yep, I am in the world of Istahar online, to think I got transmigrated straight to this game world, according to this book, the year is 1235, while gameplay is during1857, looks like I am in age of legends, mentioned in lore, when powerful empire existed, until the demon attacks destroyed the empires, forcing human resistance to fight back to reclaim the world and found new human territories, but the great demon war is still 20 years away, I will be 28 around that time, I must become strong enough to atleast survive the ordeal.

Ryan opened another book, this time, it is about dark seed.

As expected, the people in age of legends, don't know hidden truth about dark seed, dark seed is in fact a mana core with different attribute, unlike the regular mana core which formed within a human, once the gather enough pure mana, the dark seed are manifested from birth which is result of an unborn child absorbing the infernal mana, true, it cause the host to lose sanity as the dark seed matures, but that was due to the fact that infenal mana unlike pure mana, is unstable and volatile powers, believed to be came straight from hell, but it is not at all a curse, it can be controlled, which ironically also prevent the host going feral or become monstrosity, this is why Ryan is completely sane, in fact even without those herbal concoctions, he will never be corrupted, all thanks to the knowledge of the game he played in past life.
