Chapter 2 - Space

She tried to remember exactly what happened. Her mind flashed back to grabbing her pendant and then... She quickly took off the pendant which has been with her since birth. It has turned a crimson red, now like a ruby.

Looking at the strange occurrence, an absurd thought rose in her mind. Could it be?

Deciding to confirm it, she held the pendant and chanted inwardly

"Open!

Opening her eyes, she saw nothing had happened. Could it be she did it the wrong way? Feeling unconvinced, she tried again clutching the pendant again and muttered,

"Open Space!

This time she felt her vision tilt and the next thing, she was standing on a patch of ground. She was so excited she was trembling.

"It's truly a space"

Looking around she saw endless land stretched far as long as her vision could see. She walked around taking in the environment, everywhere was quiet and nothing could be seen. As she walked further she heard the sound of rushing water. She walked towards the direction and soon arrived at a clear stream.

There were no fishes in the water. As she looked at water, she couldn't help but remember those books she had read

"Could this be the legendary spiritual water capable of healing and cleansing one's body?

The air felt pleasant. The land was divided into three layers. The black side which was as large as a school field was by her guess the planting area. The green patch was for rearing animals and then the blue patch for aquatic life. This meant she could take things into the space and it would still be alive. She was so happy she was grinning foolishly.

This was just like someone handing her a pillow when she felt sleepy. She was thinking of where to store her supplies once she started hoarding but now, there was no need to worry. She could now hoard with worries. At that she flashed out of the space and was back at the room. She noticed the pendant has vanished turning to an inconspicuous birthmark on her chest.

With this, she wouldn't worry about anyone suspecting anything. Looking at the clock, she observed it had been only ten minutes since she left. She entered by two but now it only 2:10.

"Seems like time inside the space flows faster than outside"

Wanting to experiment something, she took the half of the braised pork and put in the space with a cup of water she took out from the fridge. She focused on eating and soon she had cleared out everything. By now it was four in the evening, with nothing to do she went back to her room to rest.

After the emotional rollercoaster, she needed to rest. Before sleeping, she checked her account balance and felt relieved seeing the two billion there. She called her father's assistant and the phone was quickly picked up,

"Young madam, what can I do for you?

"Uncle Lu, could you please come to the house tomorrow?

"Is everything alright miss?

"Yes. Just come drop by after work tomorrow

"Alright"

"Thank you, uncle Lu"

"It's my job, miss"

The call was quickly disconnected. Uncle Lu was her father's assistant and one of the people that treated her sincerely. Unfortunately, she didn't know how he ended up in her past life as she was only focused on surviving. The only thing she remembered was Uncle Lu got divorced from his wife a month before the apocalypse. The reasons were unknown to her.

Not thinking about it much. She closed her eyes and resolved to sleep hoping it was all real and not a dream that she was back. Outside, people lived and walked about their normal lives unaware of the looming disaster approaching
