Hades
I had been staring into space for nearly an hour. A map sat on my desk. Nothing had changed. The roads were still there marked, the forest, mountains, villages surrounding this pack. Every possible route someone could have taken out of the territory was marked. And still, I had nothing.
No Iris or clear trail to where she must have been taken. No confirmed enemy either. Only a message.
The hidden undertone behind the message was given 'come alone if you want her alive'.
I crushed my fingers against the edge of the table. My wolf snarled inside me. He wanted out and he wanted blood. The blood of the people that has taken his mate. But most importantly, he wanted Iris.
I understood the feeling because I wanted exactly the same thing.
The door opened and Cassian entered. His expression was grim.
"We've searched the western road."
"And?"
"Nothing." I clenched my fists tightly.
"Eastern road?"
"Nothing."
"The forest?"
"We searched it twice." I looked at him.
