The story starts with a village where Shen Luo's village has been completely destroyed. Shen Luo cannot believe his eyes after seeing this. Just some time ago, the village was full of happiness, but now there is fire and destruction everywhere.
Tears fill Shen Luo's eyes as he runs toward the village, hoping that his mother and father are still alive. Spirits also begin running behind him.
Both of them stop at one point and see the skeleton of the village, which has been burned. Bodies are hanging, and there is fire everywhere.
Shen Luo's eyes fall on a little child whose body is half burned. She looks around five years old, but she is still alive. Shen Luo runs toward her.
She was his little sister.
"Little Bai, how did all this happen? Why didn't you run away?"
Little Bai looks at Shen Luo with her small eyes. With her burned and tiny hands, she touches Shen Luo's face.
"Big Brother Shen, you are here…"
Then, with tears falling from her eyes, she says, "Big Brother, I'm sorry. I couldn't protect the village. I'm sorry, Big Brother. I said I would protect the village, but I couldn't do it."
She says this while crying.
Shen Luo also starts crying.
"No, Bai. You are very strong. You didn't run away because you were afraid. You should have run away, but you didn't. This proves that you are much stronger than the others."
From behind, the spirit also says, "Yes, you are very strong, Little Bai. Being strong is not everything. Having courage is also a symbol of strength."

Tears come out of Shen Luo's eyes.

"Big Brother, can you make me a promise?"
"Yes, anything for you."

Shen Luo immediately holds Little Bai's hand and says,

Hearing this, Little Bai gives a faint smile. Then, in Shen Luo's hands, she takes her last breath.
Seeing this, Shen Luo starts crying loudly.
A brief flashback is shown.
It is revealed that neither Shen Luo nor Little Bai had any parents. Both of their parents had died when they were children. Since then, Little Bai had been living in the village with her grandmother.
Her grandmother was very weak, so Little Bai always took care of her.
One day, Little Bai went to the market to buy some things. Some people stole Little Bai's money. She sat crying in the corner of the road, but nobody helped her.
Then Shen Luo met Little Bai. As soon as he found out that some people had stolen Bai's money, Shen Luo became extremely angry.
He searched throughout the entire market for them.
He also found out that the money belonged to Little Bai and her grandmother and was meant for their household expenses. If they lost that money, both of them would have to remain hungry for many days. Her grandmother was so weak that if she did not eat for some time, she could die quickly.
Because of this, Shen Luo searched for them like crazy.
Finally, he found them inside a food shop.
They were saying,
"It was fun stealing that little girl's money."
"Yeah, I heard that a little girl and her grandmother live in the village."
"If that's true, then we should go to their house, kill both of them, and steal even more money."
They started laughing after saying this.
Hearing all of this, Shen Luo became extremely angry. Without thinking about anything, he hits one of the thieves in the head with a clay pot, smashing it against his face.
Seeing this sudden attack, the others panic and stand up.
Before they can react, Shen Luo punches one of them in the stomach, sending him flying backward.
Another man comes from behind with a knife and tries to attack Shen Luo. Shen Luo grabs his hand, spins him around, and throws him away.
Another man throws a punch at Shen Luo, but Shen Luo punches him in the chin, sending him upward. Then Shen Luo grabs that man by the leg and slams him into the ground.
Then Shen Luo grabs another man—the same one who had said they should go to the house, kill them, and steal their money—and smashes his face into a table with great force. The table breaks, and the man's head is badly injured.
Shen Luo is so angry that everyone becomes afraid of him.
From behind, Little Bai runs over, grabs him around the waist, and says,
"Big Brother, stop! You have already beaten them. There is no need to be angry anymore."
Shen Luo finally stops.
Then another flashback is shown.
Shen Luo and Little Bai had gone to Little Bai's house together. There, they saw that her grandmother's health was very bad, and she could die very soon.
Her grandmother tells Little Bai to go outside.
Then she says to Shen Luo,
"Son, can you fulfill one wish of mine?"
"Sorry, son. This old woman is asking for too much, but I have no other choice. Can you take care of my little girl? She has nobody else in this world except me. I don't know what will happen to her after I'm gone."
"She is only five years old. Her entire childhood has passed taking care of me. Unlike other children, she doesn't even get to go outside and play."
"I am so weak that I cannot even do any work. That is why my little girl goes from house to house, doing small jobs and earning money for us."
As she says this, she begins crying.
"Please, son. I will always be grateful to you. Please take care of my little girl."
