Present Day, Friday, August 6th, 297 ASA
As I wake up, the familiar face of my maid, Cyni, is standing above me, her hair creating a shade as my eyes flutter open. Once I gain my senses and start to get up, Cyni starts to tell me about the current day.
"Good Evening, Prince Le—" I cut her off, raising my hand.
"Cyni, Cyni, no need to call me prince, you know i dont like those formal titles", I say, in a quick, tired voice. "Just call me Leon."
"As you wish, Leon." She whispered, seemingly calmer than before. "Today's August 6th, 297, a Friday. Based on your schedule, you don't have anything important to attend to, although, before I came here, your father, the king, had requested that once you get dressed and are ready, before you head out to come visit him."
I sigh, knowing how my father is, he's probably just trying to have a quick conversation with me to bond, not that I hate them. "Alright, Tell Him to give me about an hour to get ready before I head down, I've gotta get cleaned and dressed before I can even think!"
Cyni nods before heading to the door. As she opens it, she looks back. "As you wish, I'll let your father know," before heading out.
As I get out of bed, I walk across my room to brush my teeth and take a shower. After I get out of the shower i splash some water on my face and look at myself in the mirror, drying my face off. I then proceed to pick out some clothes, it's nothing special really, just a white shirt with a cropped black jacket and long pants, and my favourite black boots. I look at myself in the mirror one more time to put on my ear jewellery before heading out of my room.
As I walk down the hall, I look at the portrait of my mother. Walking past it, I give it a slight wave before walking into the throne room, where my father is relaxing, lying sideways on the throne, unfit for a king. As I close the door, though, he quickly fixes his posture, thinking i didnt notice.
"hello father, Cyni had told me you had wanted to give me some news regarding... something?" Realising that he'd normally say what extactly hes talking about before calling someone down.
"Evening, Leon, yeah, and as for what I have to tell you-" My father gives me a look that lets me know that what he's about to say is important, "Leon, as you know, the beginning of Selvasta Academy's 253rd Class is about to start. As your father and the king, you are required to go out and submit your registration, even if you don't get admission to the academy. So please, just quickly go over to the admissions hall in the central city and fill it out."
After taking a moment to hear what my father said, I remember the date and realise that the academy opens next Monday, looking at my father, "AND YOU HAD 3 MONTHS TO TELL ME THIS, AND YOU DIDN'T?"
My father laughs, looking down at me with a expresson that could only be described as recognition "A-and to think your m-mother had this same problem 30 Years back!" He chokes on some of his words while uncontrollably laughing.
I just put my hand on my forehead, realising he probably planned this, "So, now I only have about 24 hours to go to the admissions office and turn in my application... to my dream school, I could assassinate you right now, you know?"
My Father Gets up and walks towards me, picking me up by the head before dragging me towards the front gates of the castle. 'Well, if you really wanted to assassinate me that badly, you would've actually trained these last 3 months... honestly, you have the potential to be strong, considering your innate talents, and your large mana reserves. But you lack actual training." As we arrive at the gate, he drops me, but as I get up-
"Come back once youve signed up!" As my father tells the guards to close the gates. shuttinf right in front of me as I can hear him laughing as it fades away
Now, walking around the city, I find myself remembering my father's words. Although there is one thing... "I haven't actually ever been in this part of the city... so where exactly is the admission hall?!"
As I start walking around the central plaza, I run into a crowd of people surrounding this girl with... red skin, and horns? I walk towards the crowd, the people around me are saying things like;
"Isn't that girl from the demon kingdom?" a scared-looking child, hiding her mother, whispered.
"Yeah, shes from the kingdom of Benhella," the mother responds, shielding her child from what seems like impending doom, even though the girl is just standing there. "Don't worry, sweetie, that beast won't hurt you."
"Disgusting, I can't believe a thing like her would even be allowed to set foot in this kingdom," One of the nearby royal guards exclaimed. Then, in a smaller voice. "Especially after what their people did..."
"I don't get why the king stopped allowing us to kill these... creatures." Another guard says, pointing at the girl, "It just dont make sense."
"Probably because they get... violent if you know what I mean," the previous guard says, holding his sword. "Heard those demons fight over the smallest things."
Hearing those comments, I think to myself, "What really did the demons do? Maybe Father will know what exactly happened, considering what that guard said," As I start to walk off, realising I've been standing here for a while, and I still have to enrol soon.
Walking around more, I finally reach the admissions office, seeing the students sitting at tables, waiting to be called. I head up to the front desk, waiting for someone to assist me. Not long after, a girl, barely older than me, rushes over.
The girl, in a haste, I can barely catch her words, "Um.. name, family name, and school"
"Leon, Knidhear, Selvasta Academy," I respond, laughing a bit at how panicked the girl is. "Don't worry, just because I'm a royal doesn't mean I'll skip the line, just hand me my number and I'll wait"
She quickly grabs a stack of papers, going through them. " Hensey Academy, Mindi Academy, Indi Academy... Oh, here it is! Selvasta Academy. "She hands me a tag saying 'Selvasta-823'. "Once you hear someone call your tag, please come up here to fill out your paperwork, your highness"
"No need for the formalities, thank you." I take the tag before heading off to my seat, "Now, where to sit..."
I end up finding a seat in the corner of the waiting area. I end up spacing out until I'm called.
30 Minutes Later, Hiyi Admissions Office
"Selvasta-823, please come up and fill out your admission. I repeat, Selvasta-823, please come up and fill out your admission"
Hearing my number finally get called, I get up, take a second to stretch before heading to the front desk, where that same girl is waiting, after showing her my number-
"Room 8, Left Side", she demanded, probably tired of all these last-second enrollers.
As I head down the hall, I enter the room where this man, probably around 70 years old, is waiting. As I sit down, he's holding the admission paper on the table while holding a pen in his other hand.
The Man, whose name card says Dr. Myes, "So, Leon, before we start, you are Leon Knidhear, applying for Selvasta Academy?"
"Yes, that's my name, and Selvasta Academy is my school of choice to attend."
Looking back down at the paper, he nods before looking at me with a more serious demeanour. "Alright, so please tell me all of your Innate Kyvina Attributes and any other Attributes I may need to know about"
"From what I recall, my Kyvina Attributes are Nature, Blood, Enhancement, and Malice," I think for a second, seeing if I forgot anything, "That's everything."
As I finished, Dr. Myes wrote my stuff down before, asking, "Due to you having an unlisted Attribute, may I ask that you show me what exactly your malice attribute does?"
As he asked that, I looked down a little before laughing a slight bit. "Being honest, i dont even know how that attribute works, nor how to use it, it was just what showed up when we did the Kyvina check, so if it's there i thought I'd let you know."
As Dr. Myes writes down 'No Information Known', he hands me my paper, "We already have a copy, keep this one under the case of needing it." He stands up, getting ready to escort me out, "It was a pleasure, Leon"
I take the paper as I shake his hand and start to head out, "The pleasure is mine" Before heading back out into the halls, getting ready to get back home. Heading out the doors of the office, I realise that it's already dark, probably around 8 now, so I should probably get home. Taking a walk through the city, honestly kind of lost, I hear some sounds coming from in front of me, sounding like they are coming from the nearby alleyway.
As I turn the corner, I see 3 men— and a girl covered in... blood?
