Chapter 28 - Chapter 28 Kangaskhan and Pichu

In the afternoon, as usual, after filling its stomach, Fuyuki began its afternoon nap.

Looking at the little one sleeping soundly with the Clefairy plushie it had brought back, Entei's heart softened.

However, it hadn't forgotten its business.

Taking advantage of this time, Entei went out.

The little one said that the Mushroom Lantern needed an Electric-type Pokémon to charge it, and one charge could last for three months.

And the berry orchard needed a Water-type Pokémon to help water it.

If only Suicune were here, Entei couldn't help but think.

Suicune is a Water-type Pokémon, and compared to Raikou, it is better at controlling the power of water and is more suitable for irrigating this berry orchard.

Entei left the cave, followed the mountain path down the mountain, and soon arrived at the forest at the foot of the mountain.

This forest was home to a large number of Pokémon.

Last autumn, it had been here searching for food for the little one. Entei strolled slowly through the forest, its gaze sweeping to both sides.

Some Pokémon looked at it with awe.

Others, however, seemed delighted to see it.

The little Cubone, saved by Fuyuki, excitedly waved its bone club at Entei.

Marowak, its mother, stood behind it, smiling as she watched Entei.

Entei nodded slightly to the two Pokémon.

"Cubone!" Cubone couldn't help but ask, "Cubone?"

"Fuyuki is sleeping in its nest," Entei replied. "When he wakes up, I'll bring him to play with you."

"Cubone!" Little Cubone exclaimed happily.

Entei nodded and continued on its way.

Caterpie, Nidoran, Weedle, Rattata, Sandshrew, Oddish, Paras, Farfetch'd…

As a legendary Pokémon, Entei could sense the power emanating from them.

Furthermore, it was no stranger to the powers of water and lightning, having witnessed Raikou and Suicune wield them before.

However, these Pokémon didn't evoke any familiar feeling.

This meant they didn't meet the little one's requirements.

Hmm, this is a bit tricky, Entei thought.

But it didn't give up.

Continuing onward, after passing through a dense thicket of grass, a group of Pokémon called Kangaskhan suddenly appeared ahead.

The Kangaskhan were resting and eating in an open area with their babies.

As soon as it arrived, Entei suddenly sensed a familiar energy fluctuation.

That was… Electric-type energy, the same as Raikou's!

Entei's gaze followed the source of the energy.

The next second, it found the Electric-type Pokémon in a Kangaskhan mother's pouch.

A small, seemingly very young Pichu.

At that moment, it was with the baby Kangaskhan in the mother's pouch.

A mother Kangaskhan held a few blue oranges in her hand, gently handing them to her two cubs in her pouch.

That was…

At that moment, the group of Kangaskhan also noticed Entei's arrival.

Some Kangaskhan were wary, while the cubs looked at the Pokémon before them with curiosity.

"Don't worry, everyone, I mean no harm," Entei shook his head, then turned his gaze to Pichu.

"Pichi?" Pichu's ears twitched, and it looked at Entei with its round eyes.

Entei walked up to it.

The mother Kangaskhan was taken aback: "Awoo?"

Entei glanced at the baby Kangaskhan and Pichu in the pouch, then asked the mother Kangaskhan:

"Is this child also adopted by you?"

"Pichi..." The mother Kangaskhan looked at the baby Pichu, then nodded gently, happily exclaiming, "Awoo~!"

"I also adopted a child," Entei said slowly.

"Awoo?" The Kangaskhan mother looked at the Pokémon in disbelief. This Pokémon had also adopted a Pokémon? What a coincidence!

In an instant, the Kangaskhan mother seemed to find common ground, feeling much closer to this Pokémon.

Entei nodded slightly and continued, "My child has recently encountered a problem that he can't solve. We need the help of an Electric-type Pokémon."

"Pichu?" Little Pichu blinked. It was an Electric-type Pokémon.

"So, I'd like to ask you to come with me to my den. As a token of my gratitude, I'll give you some food," Entei said.

Hearing this, the Kangaskhan mother didn't answer immediately.

She looked down at little Pichu in her pouch.

The little Kangaskhan beside her also looked at little Pichu.

"Child..." The adorable Pichu blinked. It recalled how it had been rescued and adopted by the Kangaskhan mother when it was in danger.

Now that child needed help, it was willing to go and help it.

Therefore, Pichu nodded brightly, its voice cheerful, "Pi-chu!"

Seeing Pichu's agreement, the Kangaskhan mother also nodded happily, "Awoo~" Seeing this, Entei's eyes filled with gratitude.

It nodded to the Pokémon in front of it, then said to the Kangaskhan mother, "Please follow me."

"Awoo~" Entei turned around and began to lead the way for the Kangaskhan mother.

They followed the mountain path forward, and soon arrived at the cave.

The baby Kangaskhan and Pichu curiously peeked out of their pouches, observing the scene inside the cave.

On the clean, tidy wooden floor was a soft, comfortable, oversized carpet, and on that carpet, a human cub lay fast asleep, clutching a very eye-catching Clefairy plush toy.

"Awoo..."

"Pichu..." The two Pokémon's gazes were uncontrollably drawn to the toy.

The Kangaskhan mother, however, wore a shocked expression. It stared incredulously at the baby, then turned to Entei beside it, asking incredulously, "Awoo?"

It...it...it couldn't be mistaken, could it?

That's a human?

A Pokémon...adopted a human's child?

The Kangaskhan mother cast an inquiring glance at Entei.

Entei nodded slightly and said, "That's right, he's my child."

At that moment, Fuyuki was awakened by the cries of Pichu and the little Kangaskhan.

He rubbed his eyes, waking from his sleep. The moment he opened his eyes, he saw Pichu and the little Kangaskhan not far away.

Fuyuki instantly became alert.

"Entei?"

He stared blankly at the little Kangaskhan and Pichu before him.

Entei: "This is the Pokémon I promised you I'd find to charge your Mushroom Lantern."

Pichu knew it was time to make its move!

It jumped out of the Kangaskhan mother's pouch and walked towards the human baby, which was as small as itself.

Pichu…

"Phichu?" Pichu tilted its head, looking at the human cub before it, puzzled.

Fuyuki then realized what was happening and quickly pushed the mushroom lamp in its hand in front of Pichu.

This lamp had been used for almost ten days. Now that Raikou was gone, and its return was uncertain, it was best to use any Electric-type Pokémon it could find to help recharge it and extend its lifespan.

Pichu looked at the strange mushroom, then began to exert its power.

"Pi-chu!" A dazzling beam of electricity shot out from the pouch on its cheek, flowing into the mushroom lamp.
