Dawn broke through my dorm window, and despite last night's chaos, I felt strangely wired. By all logic, I should be crushed. Lyra had basically told me she thought some other wolf was her fated mate, but something deep in my gut flat-out refused to buy it.
Every fiber of my being knew Lyra was mine. Just thinking about her under me sent another wave of heat shooting through my system. When she'd given herself over completely, my wolf had practically howled in victory. The way her body moved with mine, those sounds she made, how perfectly we fit together - it all screamed one thing loud and clear.
She was my mate. My wolf had zero doubt about it.
The whole mess with her and Killian's history ate at me while I got dressed. I shoved those thoughts down, concentrating instead on that spark that had ignited between us. Whatever she thought about fate and destiny, her body had given me a completely different message.
