Chapter Two.
Fiona bit her lower lip, tears flowed freely from her eyes staining her yellow mini gown.
Her step sister Emily was a thorn in her flesh, suddenly someone touched her palm.
She looked up through her hair feeling startled.
"There's no need for you to cry, here have this." Reed gave Fiona his handkerchief and she used it to wipe her tears.
She then realized that Reed was the only friend she had now.
"Come on let's attend English class, you won't believe what happened today in the principals office."
Reed smiled, so she did stick with him.
As soon as school was over Fiona went back home, she held the door knob hesitant of going in but she had no choice.
Sparkles the family dog, pounced on her excitedly and she laughed.
Her step sister Emily sneered at her and tapped her friend on her knees.
"Welcome home sister, meet my friend Anabel, she's new in this city but we go way back." Emily winked at Anabel.
"I told Anabel here about all your talents."
Fiona sighed knowing Emily might just be twisting her words.
"I'm sure she was truly impressed." Fiona replied dryly.
"Yeah Anabel was so impressed, she has decided that you would make the perfect daughter in law." Emily smiled widely.
Was Emily serious, the cooking contest was just around the corner and Fiona was sure she would participate, she did not have time for this act.
"Listen if you are just trying to piss me off then you have crossed the line, you have no right to choose a marriage partner for anyone." This was the first time Fiona had raised her voice against Emily sparkles trotting beside her.
"Be careful now sister you don't want to wake our sick sleeping mother up." Emily warned with a smirk on her face.
"Mom was the one searching for the groom but she fell ill and now I'm in charge, you should be grateful I found someone in Anabels family."
Fiona clenched her fists in anger, she stormed into her room silently sparkles followed her.
Diving into her bed she realized something these people did not want her to participate at all, she needed to leave this house and for that she should find a job.
Fiona patted sparkles fur and sobbed she truly missed her mother today. If she were still alive this people will have no right that's it, she was leaving.
Meanwhile in the living room Emily was busy celebrating her victory with Anabel.
" Why do you hate her so much Emily, I mean she's your sister?."
Anabel asked her heart bled seeing Fiona oppressed but she dared not show any form of concern.
Emily flipped her hair.
"My mother trained me with so much discipline and discomfort just so that I could be the perfect daughter in law for the Jackson's.
The Jackson's will be present in the cooking contest, I need to impress them by showing my skills and I don't want any competition especially from her."
Anabel nodded and drank casually from her wine glass, she should not get emotional now besides she was going to get paid for this work.
In Reeds family restaurant, there were lots of customers. The people enjoyed the food but one thing irritated them. The waiter.
How could such a classy restaurant let a disabled man serve food, it was laughable.
Reed however disregarded there disdainful glances and focused on his job.
Not until a student from his school walked in and recognized him.
"Oh look, he's here as well. Are you stalking me. Didn't your new friend assault me enough."
Reed laughed as he recalled what happened in the school the previous day.
"What would you like to order?." Reed asked calmly.
Sabastein laughed so this guy was going to serve him, how great was his luck – he was going to make his job difficult today.
Sabastein ordered and Reed went to the chef after a few minutes another waiter brought the food he ordered Sabastein was disappointed.
"Is this how you treat your customers?."
Sabastein yelled causing the other people to turn heads.
" This is not what I ordered, where is your manager!." Sabastein hit his fists on the table.
The waiter shivered, he knew his boss was cold and arrogant, the waiter did not want to get into trouble without thinking he scolded Reed.
"Reed, come over here now!." Reed Wheeler himself over he knew Sabastein being here was trouble from the start.
"You got this gentleman's order wrong, you need to apologize to him before he reports this to the manager and gets us both in trouble." Reed could see the fear in the waiters eyes, but yet he remained calm.
"Let the manager come." Reed replied firmly.
Sabastein laughed.
"Really, is all this fuss worth it. I am a VIP here and yet you refuse to show even a tiny bit of respect.
How many jobs do you have that you want to lose this one so easily. Be humble and apologize."
The other customers also urged Reed to apologize but Reed stubbornly refused.
Sabastein took out his phone and called the manager, the other waiter felt completely disheartened.
After two minutes Louis showed up bowing his head to Sabastein. Sabastein smiled.
"Why are you staff so incompetent." Louis felt dumbstruck he then noticed Reed who sat calmly over there, if only Sabastein knew who he was he would not behave so harshly with him.
"I need him to apologize to me, or he gets fired and if you can't do both I will revoke my membership and stop coming here." Louis stood staring at Reed though Sabastein was a VIP customer he would never do anything to embarrass the young master in public.
"I'm sorry but I can't do that!." Everyone turned to stare at Reed and Sabastein..
"Why, do you value a disabled man more than a customer who spends up to 10,000$ a month here and can write a negative review about this restaurant."
Reed clenched his fists, he needed to deal with Sabastein once and for all, he rolled away from the scene and made a call then returned waiting, he could not wait to see the look on Sabastein's face.
As Sabastein continued to vent two men stepped into the restaurant, in an instant Sabastein's face turned pale.
He recognized one of them.
"You thief!." Sabastein tried to run off but was cut.
He wondered why Dan was so mad at him he had not paid for anything yet. He had borrowed Dan's card for a day, after lending the card to him Sabastein changed his location and ran off spending endlessly with his money.
"Please you boys can't do this here, this is a restaurant not the streets."Louis felt his blood boil.
He stared at Sabastein and revoked his membership.
"You are no longer welcome here, your presence has caused so much nuisance and unrest. Do not come back here again or you will get arrested."
Reed smiled hearing Louis's words, Sabastein wanted to humiliate him but Reed had turned the tables.
"I'm not leaving here until this man refunds all the cash he took from my membership card.!" Dan yelled firmly.
Sabastein caught the smirk on Reed's face he had a strong feeling Reed was behind this and he was going to get his revenge somehow.
