Chapter four.
As Fiona walked into her father's home, she walked slowly and grunted.
Each step caused great flow of pain through her body.
The door finally opened and tears of joy streamed down her face the moment she saw her stepbrother Sam.
The glass dropped from his hands and shattered on the ground injuring him a bit.
He ran with vigour and carried her in his arms like a newly wed bride, Emily held on to her knee. He placed her on the couch without asking any questions.
"We saw it all on the news, those evil people chose to go viral than help." Fiona was eager to hide in her room, if her stepbrother knew then his mother also knows.
"Stay still." Sam held her leg tightly to apply the ointment.
"The cooking contest is in a few days how will you participate if you get involved in another accident?."
Fiona's face stiffened, the disadvantage of not having a phone.
"When is it?." Fiona asked.
Sam parted his lips to respond but was interrupted by Emily who came into the room suddenly.
"Oh my goodness, how did you get injured. I must let mum know about this you need to be taken to the hospital." Emily turned around walking to her mother's room waiting for Fiona to stop her.
She paused when she did not hear anyone call her name.
"Why did you stop, you should go and let her know that someone tried to kidnap me and kill me as well."
Fiona tried to read the expression on Emily's face but it was impossible.
"Someone tried to kill you?." Sam asked his eyebrows twiched and his fingers shivered involuntarily.
"I have a feeling it was the same people who tried to kill my parents, I mean who killed them."
Emily kept on staring at Fiona lost in thoughts, the cooking contest was just around the corner she needed to keep Fiona away from the Jackson's this was the time for her to reign under the spotlight.
"Can you do me a favor sister?." Emily asked politely with puppy eyes.
"Take care of yourself, you dont need to stress yourself there's always next year."
Emily walked into her room.
Fiona simply stared at the cut on her leg, perhaps Emily was right she needed to sit this one out.
Sam studied Fiona's sad face and leaned close to kiss her on the lips.
"Hey you crazy fool."
Sam laughed. "I was just looking for something." Sam said with his eyes on the floor.
"Yeah right next time look somewhere else." Sam nodded, and wondered why he even pulled such a stunt.
She was his sister right?.
Emily stood by the door of her room watching them her heart conflicted, Sam was her brother not Fiona's so why did he care about her even more.
She would not let her brother choose Fiona over her for any reason. She needed to plant the seed of hatred in her brother's heart, and for that she would need her mother's help.
The sun fell and rose over Cresten high School the students were already present and cheerfully gossiping about two people.
Reed and Fiona.
Reed kept on staring at the gate wondering when Fiona would walk in. The previous day he had offended his step sister but he didn't care, she should look for a job.
"Reed, I won't talk to you until you change and become the loving brother you used to be." Reed's step sister kept on pestering him on Whatsapp.
"She's here, she's here!." The students ran outside and surrounded Fiona, Emily stood sneering at them..
Emily's friend Holly was about to join them.
"If you dare join that circle of dummies I am no longer your friend,will you really leave me standing all by myself?." Emily blackmailed Holly's emotions and Holly stood by her pouting her lips.
The students finally left Fiona and walked in gossiping, when Fiona eyes met with Reeds.
Fiona smiled and waved he did the same.
Fiona's smile reminded him of someone else but Reed brushed off the feeling and smiled also.
"Just look, my sister falling for a disabled guy, how could she stoop so low?." Emily whispered into Holly's ears.
"You always speak so highly of yourself Emily, what makes you think the Jackson's will even notice you during the competion." Holly covered her lips with her fingers.
She did not mean to say that so loudly, how would she get lunch now.
Emily walked into school after hitting Holly's head angrily, and Holly chased after her apologizing.
Reed noticed how Fiow limped and his jaw tightened, he recalled the video and how she jumped out of the passengers seat.
"You are famous now, Fiona." Reed complemented.
"Hey how do you know my name?."Fiona asked.
"Not just me everyone does, you could be more famous than the president." Fiona shook her head, that was just crazy talk.
They both got into history class late, and the teacher simply ignored them.
Reed watched Fiona sleep through the entire class, she must be really exhausted.
After class, Reed was about to gently wake Fiona up when Sabastein and his minions walked to his desk.
Reed did his best to not laugh at Sabasteins pink eye, and swollen lips.
This must be Dan's job.
"I am positive that you are the one behind Dan's sudden appearance in that restaurant." Reeds heart beat rapidly, he was disabled at this point he was in a dangerous situation even Louis could not help him.
"I will forget everything that happened in the restaurant yesterday if you humbly clean my shoes with your tongue."
But before Sabastein could get closer to Reed someone came in and called out his name.
"I would not do that if I were you?." Sabastein turned around and wondered who dared to stop him.
"And what would happen if I do anything to him, what are you going to do about it."Sabastein confronted the strange boy before him.
The young man did not seem like a threat at all, with his thin nature and calm appearance Sabastein felt he could easily take him out without anyone's help.
"The sponsors for the cooking contest are on there way here, if they see you guys acting out it will give the school a bad reputation."
Sabastein did not want anything to go wrong here, this was indeed bad timing.
"I promise you won't be so lucky the next time." Reed sighed, he could not wait to claim his inheritance then all these bullying would be over and there will be no need to hide his status.
Reed could not help but continue to stare at Fiona, her black hair and her peaceful state when she slept.
He would wish for her to keep on sleeping but she had to attend the next class.
Outside the halls where students were not meant to be Sabastein walked confidently covering his bruises with sunglasses when someone called him from a car.
Sabastein walked towards him and saw his older brother Logan.
Sabastein was extremely excited and was about to give him a hug when his Uncle Logan slapped him and Sabastein's glasses fell.
He looked at him shocked but thankful that the field was empty he would have lost his reputation before everyone especially the ladies.
