Sid remains lying on the floor in the same position, with her hand still stretched out. She is in shock from killing someone and having almost died herself.
I just... killed a man.
Anna walks up to her and asks worriedly,
'Are you okay?'
That snaps Sid out of it as she responds,
'Yeah, I'm fine.'
One of the KobangJo, nonetheless.
I really am a curse on this group...
Boss, I wish you had never found me in the first place. Saved yourself the trouble.
I'm just a useless human being.
She quickly regains her composure as she gets up.
'It looks like they have already begun searching for us. We can't just leave how we were planning to before.'
She looks back at Zane, who is still on the floor.
'How is he?'
'I'm fine,' he states as he begins to rise through the pain.
He grips his hands in frustration at not having been any help in the situation they were just in.
Just then, the escapees from the lowest floor begin pouring out, with the blonde-haired woman at their forefront.
'Perfect,' Sid mutters to herself.
Anna's group blends in with the escapees as they begin ascending the stairs to get out of the ship.
As the crowd is leaving, they run into some gang members who start yelling in their direction after spotting them.
'Look there!' one yells. 'A bunch of people coming from the lowest level. They must be the prisoners!'
'Don't let them escape!' another one yells out. 'Or the boss will kill us double!'
'Get them!' another yells, and the gang members begin clashing with the group of escapees in an attempt to restrain them.
In the chaos, one lunges towards Anna to capture her, but she is able to avoid him.
Despite the gang members' efforts, they can't stop the escapees because they are too numerous.
Then, all of a sudden—
BANG!
A shot rings out, striking one of the escapees in the chest.
The person who fired it, a resolute-looking gang member, stands up.
'If the boss sees this on top of his collection being destroyed, he is going to skin all of us alive. It's better they die than us.'
The other gangsters understand where he is coming from and quickly agree.
After his speech, shots begin ringing out all over the place as the gangsters shoot the escapees down.
The situation just became more urgent, and Anna's group struggles to stick close to each other.
Due to fear of getting shot, some escapees give up on escaping altogether and lie on the ground in surrender.
'It's just a bit further,' Sid relays as they come close to the exit that leads to the ship's exterior.
They are right in front of the exit when a loud, authoritative voice shouts out,
'ENOUGH!'
Standing on a high ledge overlooking everyone there is the boss's attendant, Yumel, holding an assault rifle and looking furious.
Everyone momentarily stops moving.
'DOGS!' she yells out again. 'You dare anger my lord even more after what happened?! So much so that he sent me away from his side to deal with the likes of you!'
'I will have no mercy for you,' she says, pointing her gun at them. 'Either kneel... or die.'
Hearing her words being said with such conviction, and seeing that she has a gun to back them up, most of the escapees begin kneeling down.
'Kneel,' Sid warns Anna.
'But—' Anna tries to protest.
'Just do it for now,' Sid insists.
Anna heeds Sid's warning and kneels along with Zane.
There are some people who remain standing among the crowd, some because of defiance and others because of fear.
Yumel looks them in the eyes.
'So you choose death,' she states before opening fire on them.
Her shots are indiscriminate, hitting both those standing up and those kneeling on the ground as she commanded.
Screams of panic come from those she fires at. Seeing that she doesn't care even about those who were kneeling, the others begin getting up and trying to run.
Anna, who is not yet in the firing zone, tries to get up and flee, but Sid holds her back.
'Not yet,' she warns.
'What do you mean, not yet?!' Anna complains.
But Sid is sure.
'Not yet,' she repeats.
Then, as Yumel continues shooting, she runs out of bullets.
'Now!' Sid yells, signalling to Anna that it is time to run.
Along with Anna's group, five other escapees follow as they run through the passage, escaping Yumel's sights.
The woman who was standing beside Yumel speaks up.
'Some people escaped.'
'I know,' Yumel assures her. 'Of all people, I didn't expect Sid to be the one who would betray us.'
She coldly, as though forgetting that she ever knew her, commands,
'Go kill them, wherever they are going. Don't let them off this ship alive.'
'What about these ones?' the woman questions, referring to the group of escapees who are panicking below.
'Do not concern yourself with them,' she states, having finished loading her gun. 'They are all going to die.'
Heeding Yumel's commands, the woman pulls out her pistol and gives chase.
A voice cries out from the midst of the survivors,
'Please spare us! We give up. We are kneeling just as you told us!'
'Kneeling?' Yumel questions. 'There were people amongst you who were not kneeling. If you really wanted forgiveness, you would have forced them to their knees as well.'
The escapees after hearing this start turning on each other, trying to force the resisting ones to the ground.
Amidst the newly born chaos, the sound of a gun cocking can be heard.
The questioning escapee looks up to see where the sound came from.
His eyes widen in shock as he sees Yumel pointing her assault rifle at them again.
'I never said I would forgive you. I simply told you to kneel and receive judgment for disturbing my lord. YOU FILTHY DOGS!'
She yells as she begins unleashing a new volley of bullets at the desperate escapees.
