Chapter 1 - Shadows Under The Moon

Chapter 1 : Shadows Under The Moon

Kael, the Alpha, tore through the forest like a shadow unleashed.

Branches whipped past him, leaves brushing his face, but he didn't slow. Not tonight.

Behind him, Seris, his Luna, called out, her voice cracking through the silvered air.

"Kael! Wait!"

Her words fell flat, swallowed by the rustle of the trees.

He didn't look back.

The full moon hung low and merciless, its light slicing through the darkness, painting the forest in cold silver. Every shadow seemed sharper tonight. Every step felt alive, echoing the pounding of his heartbeat.

Toren, the Beta, followed at a distance, silent and tense.

"Kael…" Toren's voice was low, tight with worry. "You shouldn't....."

"Keep the Seris safe," Kael said over his shoulder, voice a growl edged with warning. "I will return before dawn."

And then he vanished into the darkness.

Lyra, the Omega, crouched among a cluster of wild herbs, fingers brushing dirt from delicate leaves.

The night was alive around her. Every rustle, every whisper of wind, set her nerves on edge.

She froze, suddenly aware of eyes on her. Eyes that burned into her skin with impossible heat.

He emerged from the shadows without a sound.

Kael.

Her heart slammed against her ribs.

"Lyra," he said, voice low, dangerous, a predator moving closer to its prey.

"I… I'm gathering herbs," she stammered. Her hands shook. Her voice barely rose above the night's whispers.

Kael's amber eyes darkened as they studied her.

"Alone?"

She nodded, barely able to draw a breath.

His smile was sharp, predatory… intoxicating.

He stepped closer. Too close.

Her chest tightened.

Her instincts screamed at her to run. But her legs refused.

Kael's hand brushed her hair from her face. Gentle. Yet deliberate.

Lyra's eyes widened. She trembled under his touch.

"Shh," he whispered. "It's okay. Just breathe."

Her knees weakened.

The tension wrapped around them like the shadows themselves, thick, pressing, impossible to ignore.

And then… he kissed her.

Soft at first her world was changing in his mind.

Her heart leapt. She wanted to resist. But she couldn't.

Luck....or fate.....was on their side.

A small cave appeared ahead, hidden beneath a cluster of trees. Kael led her inside without a word.

The forest vanished behind them.

Lyra's body shook. Her hands clutched at his tunic, unsure what to do, unsure if she wanted him to stop… or not.

Kael's hands traced her back, nails grazing her skin in deliberate, teasing lines. She gasped. Trembled. A shiver ran through her from the touch alone.

"Kael…" Her voice was small tiny but beautiful

"Shh," he murmured, lips brushing hers again. "You're safe. Only here. Only with me."

Her nervousness ignited something inside him.

.

The shy Omega, trembling in his arms… irresistible.

Outside, the clearing was bathed in moonlight.

Seris, the Luna, paced restlessly. Her instincts screamed danger. Her gaze swept the treeline.

"Where is he?" she demanded, voice tight with worry.

Toren's jaw clenched. "He went ahead, Luna. Said he'd return before dawn."

Unease coiled in Seris's chest. She didn't know that Kael's shadow now hovered over Lyra. She didn't know that secrets had already been sown beneath the silver moon.

Inside the cave, Lyra's hands gripped Kael's chest. They trembled. Breath mingling. Heartbeats thundering.

Kael's voice dropped, low and commanding.

"You're mine tonight."

Lyra swallowed. Cheeks flushed. Eyes darted away.

"I… I…"

"Don't hide from me," he whispered, holding her gaze.

Her lips quivered. Nervousness wrapped her like a cloak, but the pull toward him was magnetic.

He leaned closer. Slow. Dominant. Each movement a promise she could feel in her bones.

"I… I've never…" Her voice broke.

He silenced her with a firm, yet tender kiss. One hand cradled her face. The other traced her back.

The heat between them was raw, undeniable.

Her body betrayed her mind before she could process.

"I… I don't know if I can....."

"You can," he whispered. "I'll guide you."

Her heart raced. Her thoughts spun. Caught in a current she had never known existed.

Outside, Seris stopped again, unease clawing at her chest.

Something was wrong. The forest held its breath.

Toren shook his head. "He's gone ahead, Luna. You must trust him."

Trust had cracks. And instincts never lie.

Back in the cave, Lyra pressed into Kael. Her shyness battled with the urge to surrender completely.

"You… you shouldn't want me," she whispered, barely audible.

Kael's amber eyes burned into hers.

"I want you," he said.

The forest outside remained silver and silent.

They trembled together.

And the night waited.
