"Hugo, Cecilia is an orphan." Damian Hawthorne dismissed Hugo Grant's speculation with a single sentence. "I've investigated her background a hundred times. There are no other possibilities."
He was always wary of people who suddenly appeared in his life. When Cecilia Nathan showed up and said she was going to pursue him, he had already dug up everything he could on her family history.
He traced her entire life, from birth through elementary, middle, and high school, all the way to college. Nothing was out of place.
"Then tell me, who took her from the hospital?" Hugo Grant looked up, his gaze fixed on Damian Hawthorne. "You must have checked the footage. The surveillance recording was cut, wasn't it?"
"Who could be powerful enough to alter the hospital's surveillance records? Damian, maybe your initial investigation was wrong from the start."
Hugo's words struck Damian's heart like a heavy hammer.
