I stood on the balcony of the pack house looking down at all the activity below. Pack members were everywhere, preparing for the mating rites tomorrow night. The full moon would rise,The and we would celebrate under its light.
"Everything is coming together," I said to myself. "Tomorrow is going to be perfect."
The last few days had been busy but good. The pack was healing from the trauma of the curse. People were laughing again. Working together. Looking forward to the future instead of dreading it.
"This is how it should have been all along," I said.
Warriors were setting up the ceremonial circle in the center of the pack grounds. They measured and marked everything with precision. Omegas hung flower garlands from posts. Children ran around carrying ribbons and candles.
"Alpha," Marcus called from below. "Should we place the elder seats on the east or west side?"
"East side," I called back. "So they face the moon as it rises."
