I was in my office trying to make sense of everything Kyran had told me when I heard shouting outside. Multiple voices all yelling at once. Something was very wrong.
I ran to the window and looked down at the pack grounds. Two guards were running toward the pack house from the forest. They were shouting something, but I could not make out the words from this distance.
I threw open my door and ran down the stairs. By the time I reached the ground floor, one of the guards had made it inside. He was out of breath, and his face was pale.
"Alpha," he gasped. "You need to come quickly. The Luna said Beta Rex attacked her in the forest. She is hurt and bleeding."
Everything inside me went cold. "Where is she now?" I demanded.
"At the front gates with the other guard," he said. "But Alpha. Rex. He might still be in the forest. He might be dangerous."
