Chapter 74 - Chapter 74: Applying Healing Elixir to the Longbottoms

Madam Augusta looked at the first-year Young Wizard in front of her, not trusting him.

She chuckled softly and shook her head.

"Child, I know you mean well, but I've heard such words for many years now."

"Countless Healers, Potions Masters, and even the most authoritative experts at St Mungos have said similar things."

"And in the end?" Madam Augusta's voice was a little weary.

"They were all just as helpless."

The Healer beside her frowned directly, feeling his professional authority severely challenged.

"Young man, this is St Mungos, not a place for you to play house," the Healer said impatiently.

"Soul damage caused by the Crucio is one of the most intractable problems in the Wizarding world."

"If you keep messing around, I'll throw you out."

Seeing this, Neville hurried forward:

"Sir, Charlie is really amazing..."

The Healer impatiently interrupted.

"What could a little brat be good at?"

Charlie, however, stood there calmly, not angered by the Healer's words.

He looked at Madam Augusta and said sincerely.

"Madam, my method will not cause any harm to the patients."

"Anyway, you don't have any other options right now, so why not give it a try?"

Madam Augusta hesitated.

The child was right; Frank and Alice's condition was already the worst it could be, it couldn't get any worse.

Seeing her hesitate, the Healer was about to say something again.

Madam Augusta raised her hand to stop him and asked.

"Charlie, what is your method?"

"I've developed a Potion specifically for soul damage."

"Hah." The Healer scoffed dismissively.

"Merlin, that's the funniest joke I've heard all year."

Madam Augusta also shook her head helplessly, finding it laughable that she had actually believed Charlie.

How could a first-year child possibly develop a Potion to treat soul damage?

The Healer's face showed mockery.

"All the healing methods we've used at St Mungos haven't been of much use for soul damage."

"And you think one bottle of Potion can treat soul damage?"

Charlie sneered.

"I don't expect an idiot like you to appreciate the subtle beauty of a gently simmering cauldron, emitting white steam and wafting delicate aromas."

Neville:?

Those words sounded familiar, as if he had heard someone use them to curse him.

Charlie's voice was filled with deep sarcasm.

"Potions are an unreadable book to a Troll like you."

The Healer's face instantly flushed red.

Charlie glanced at him disdainfully and continued.

"Professor Snape, the Potions Master at Hogwarts, is also very interested in my Potion development."

"He has provided a lot of help with my Potion development."

All the ingredients were generously provided by Snape, so how could it not be considered help?

Hearing Snape's name, both the Healer and Madam Augusta were momentarily stunned.

Professor Snape's accomplishments in Potions were known throughout the British Wizarding world.

If Professor Snape really guided him... the Healer felt a little panicked; could a student really have a cure? Then St Mungos would be greatly embarrassed.

But he quickly calmed down; it was impossible.

How could Snape guide a first-year student to develop a Potion of this level?

This was just his word.

Madam Augusta looked at Neville with an inquiring gaze.

Neville swallowed hard and whispered.

"Professor Snape really pays a lot of attention to Charlie."

Deducting ten or twenty points from him every class, how could that not be attention?

Charlie continued.

"After my Potion was successfully developed, Professor Snape praised it highly."

"To use it or not, the choice is in your hands, Madam."

Madam Augusta fell silent.

If Professor Snape was involved, the credibility increased significantly.

Madam Augusta looked at her son and daughter-in-law on the bed, her heart filled with mixed emotions.

For over a decade, she had grown accustomed to despair.

But now, even if there was only a one-in-ten-thousand chance, she wanted to try.

"If there really are no side effects..."

The Healer became anxious: "Madam! You can't believe a child's words!"

"What if something goes wrong?"

"I will take full responsibility."

Madam Augusta's voice was firm.

"This is my decision."

She looked at Charlie, a faint spark of hope igniting in her eyes.

"If you can truly cure them, I am willing to pay any price."

Charlie smiled:

"It's not that serious; you only need to pay for the Potion."

"I'll go back to school to get the Potion first. If I had known Uncle and Auntie were in this condition, I should have brought the Potion with me."

Charlie turned and walked out.

"Wait for me here; I'll be back soon."

Madam Augusta nodded, watching Charlie leave.

The Healer still didn't quite believe it, but since the person involved had made a decision, he couldn't interfere, so he stood aside, ready to watch the show.

Shortly after Charlie left, painful groans suddenly came from the ward.

Frank began to convulse violently, his body trembling uncontrollably on the bed.

Alice also began to writhe in pain, an expression of extreme agony on her face.

"Frank, Alice..."

Madam Augusta was heartbroken.

The Healer rushed forward, his wand emitting a faint green light, trying to calm the two with magic.

But the Spell's effect was minimal, and Mr. and Mrs. Longbottom continued to twitch in pain.

Neville watched his parents suffer so much, tears welling up in his eyes.

"Mom, Dad..." His voice trembled.

Seeing this, Madam Augusta, uncharacteristically, did not scold Neville.

She walked over and hugged her grandson tightly.

"Don't cry, Neville, don't cry." Her voice was also choked with emotion.

"Children of the Longbottom family don't cry."

But her own eyes were also wet with tears.

For over a decade, every time she saw her son and daughter-in-law in such pain, her heart tore.

The Healer frantically tried various Spells, but none had much effect.

"Damn it, why is the attack so severe today?"

He anxiously wiped his sweat.

Time passed minute by minute, and the sky outside had already darkened.

Mr. and Mrs. Longbottom's condition worsened.

Neville clutched his grandmother's hand tightly, his eyes filled with despair.

Just then, the ward door was pushed open.

Charlie walked in, carrying a small Potion box, and seeing the situation, he frowned slightly.

"How are things?"

"Very bad, much worse than usual."

Madam Augusta quickly went to meet him.

Charlie opened the box and took out two bottles of pale golden Potion.

The Potion sparkled in the candlelight, emitting a faint minty scent.

"This is a healing potion." Charlie handed the Potion to Madam Augusta.

Madam Augusta took the Potion, her hands trembling slightly.

She gave Charlie a deep look, then walked to Frank's bedside.

"Frank, open your mouth."
