Peter woke up with a gasp. He was still on the rooftop. He looked around and saw that the day was becoming dark. He quickly jumped to his feet, and swung away.

He observed something weird and landed on the corner of a building. He noticed that most of his injuries were healed, but he still looked like he had participated in a gang war. Peter frowned as he wracked his brain, thinking of an excuse to tell aunt May.

Fell from the stairs?

Already over used.

He was ambushed?

She'll panic and call the police.

He thought for a while and decided to just hide this one out. He'll get some more ice fron a convenience store nearby and put it on his wounds.

Peter got home and quickly ran upstairs. Thankfully, aunt May was in her room, reading a magazine. She heard the sound of the door and hurried footsteps. This caused her to stand up in panic.

"Relax aunt May it's me!" Peter said, closing his door.

She shook her head and sat down, wondering what was wrong with her nephew.

Max lay on a bed in a secret medical facility being run by Norman Osborn. They couldn't find a way to revert him back to his original form, so he was stuck with being the blue 'thing' he had transformed into.

Norman stood near him, saying something about his health. But Max wasn't listening, he was lost in his thoughts. He imagined how his girlfriend would react, how everyone would treat him. He couldn't live like this!

While he though all this, electricity ran through his body and blue sparks emerged, flying chaotically around the room. Norman, obviously panicked, tried to calm him down.

"Max! Relax! You're just gonna hurt yourself! We don't know what you're capable of yet! Let us help you!" Norman yelled, ducking just in time to dodge a spark that flew past his head.

"Help me? You wanna keep me here and continue your goddamn experiments! I know how this ends, you'll try and weaponise me! Turn me into some superhuman soldier!"

"No Max! Listen —"

"I'm done with listening." Max interrupted Norman, and released a large wave of electricity, scattering the hospital windows and blowing up the bulbs.

Norman, who had laid on the floor for cover, opened his eyes and saw that Max was gone. Panic spread all over his face as he picked up his phone to call the security.

Peter groaned as he got up from bed. He looked at the morning Sun with a bright smile. It was Sunday, meaning he had no school. And most criminals didn't show up on Sunday too. So all he had to do today was go to Church, come back home, and sleep.

Perfect schedule.

He got up from bed, took his bath and got dressed. He saw aunt May waiting for him with a smile. She noticed the little bruises on his face but she didn't question him anymore.

Speaking of bruises, Peter's body had recovered tremendously.

Together, they went to Church. The preacher preached, everything was going well, until—

—spider sense—

Peter frowned, suddenly standing up. He walked to the toilet and changed into his costume (he had sown a lot of costumes so after his fight with Goliath he wasn't bothered).

He went back to the Church auditorium, where he stealthy climbed the ceiling and observed what was going on.

Everywhere looked peaceful, had his spider sense given him a false alarm?

—spider sense—

He quickly jumped from the ceiling, grabbed a backpack and swung outside, tossing it into the sky with all his strength.

BOOM!

The backpack exploded, and Spiderman ran back to the Church, grabbing a random guy.

Everyone panicked because they heard the explosion after Spiderman tossed the bag.

Well it turned out the guy who Spiderman was currently holding by the neck was supposed to blow up the Church.

"Who sent you?" Spiderman asked, but the man just smiled at him.

Well the smile soon disappeared after Spiderman gave him a heavy punch.

He fell to the ground, and tried to crawl away, cleaning his bleeding nose.

Spiderman grabbed his shirt and tossed him out of the Church.

"I said, who sent you?" Spiderman asked, walking towards the man.

"I don't know! He wore a mask!" The man stammered.

Soon the police arrived and Spiderman explained the situation to them. The man was arrested and taken away for proper questioning.

He quickly changed out of his costume and rushed to aunt May, who was frantically searching for him.

"My God Peter! Where have you been?" May asked, hugging him tightly.

"I hid in the toilet when I heard the commotion." Peter lied, feeling a pang in his chest. She just smiled at him, and they walked away.

Max sat on a rooftop, angrily trying to solve a Rubik's cube.

Frustrated, he destroyed it using a blast of energy. He turned into a streak of lightning and flew away.

He landed on the road. It was already evening, and the city was bustling with night life. His strange physical appearance attracted him some weird stares. He looked round, noticing how the civilians were looking at him.

"They see me...." Max muttered under his breath, a smile spreading on his face.

Soon police officers pulled up near him.

"Is that a Halloween costume or something?" One of them asked Max. But he wasn't even listening. He was staring at a man who was walking into a restaurant. It was the man who had taken all the credit for his work, Mr Richard.

The officers continued asking him questions but he ignored them and slowly walked towards Richard.

An electric wave blasted itself around Max, destroying some cars and electrocuting the officers.

"Richard!!" Max yelled, anger evident in his eyes.

Richard turned back but was met with a heavy punch to his face. He flew away and crashed into a building, jerking as electric currents coursed through his body.

More police officers arrived, and they pointed thief guns at Max. The latter didn't panick, instead he fired lightening bolts at them, ending their career and life. Max now began to panick, realising that he had just murdered innocent officers who were just doing their jobs.

"Quite the scene here." A very familiar voice said form behind. Max turned to look, and saw Spiderman.

"Look man I know you're confused, but you have to calm down." Spiderman said, walking towards Max.

A sudden blue ball of electricity was shot towards him, but he dodged with a backflip.

Max roared as he shot electric bolts everywhere, endangering the lives of the civilians present.

Spiderman swung as fast as he could, grabbing people and tossing them out of the way.

"Everyone, get away from here! This isn't a safe place!" Spiderman yelled at them. The civilians ran, screaming their lungs out.

Spiderman turned to face Max, and saw him walking towards a man who was lying on the ground.

"What are surprise Richard, you're still alive." Max said, smiling at Richard as the cold wind blew and his arms glowed. Spiderman ran to him and jumped up webbing a large pole. He pulled it to himself and slammed it on Max, but the electric currents coming out of Max moved from the pole and zapped Spiderman, sending him flying. Max too was pushed away, crashing into wall.

"This isn't your business Spiderman!" Max yelled, slowly standing up.

"Well you're trying to turn the city into the land of the dead so yeah it is my business!" Spiderman replied, jumping to his feet.

"This man stole my idea! He took all the glory for my work! I gave this city the electricity it has! I built the Power Grid that supplies this city uninterrupted electricity. But he stole it. And now I'm here to take it back, alongside his life."

"Stop this dude, don't kill him! You've got enough blood on your hands already!" Spiderman replied, gesturing to some of the bodies that lay on the ground. Max scoffed and walked towards Richard, who was trying to crawl away. Spiderman webbed Richard and pulled him to himself.

"Well since you want to interfere so bad you'll die with him!" Max barked, levitating as his body glowed even brighter and blue sparks flew towards him, slowly turning into large bolts that moved round Max.

"I control this city now Spiderman." Max said, confidence radiating brighter than the menacing lightening bolts. This wasn't just confidence, it was certainty. Max was not just fighting. He was learning, evolving. Each strike he missed struck in the second attempt, and soon his accuracy was frightening. Spiderman had just dodged a bolt of destruction when something hit him. His spider sense was thrown into a frenzy as it screamed warnings. The hit was strong, solid, and electrifying. Not only did it feel like he was punched by Goliath on steroids, but he felt like he had decided to lick a naked wire on the city's Grid. He flew like a comet, crashing straight into a wall, destroying it in the process.

He tried to comprehend how his cool evening patrol had turned to a full blown battle, and he was losing horribly. His spider sense was no longer buzzing, but it seemed like it was screaming in his ears as the sounds from the city dulled.

Spiderman lay on the floor, motionless. He could stand and continue fighting, but he hesitated. He was losing his will to fight, because it always ended in him getting blasted away.

An image of uncle Ben flashed in his head, and he slowly stood up.

"Look who finally decided to stand." Max said, with a smile. He just wanted revenge but now he seemed to enjoy beating the hero. He burst into laughter as he thought of yhe kind of man he had become, a psycho who enjoyed beating people to death.

"Ah, I just remembered, I got a phone with a dead battery, mind helping me zap it back to life?" Spiderman asked, jumping forward.

"I'm guessing that's a no." He said, twisting his body kid air, just in time to dodge a large bolt.

Spiderman webbed a destroyed hot dog stand, and swung it at Max, the force so great it sent the sparked villian flying into a nearby building.

Max groaned as he stood up, but a flying kick from Spiderman pushed him even further away.

Spiderman fell to the ground, coughing as he struggled to stand up.

"Note to readers, never try to kick a man who exhales electricity." He muttered, pushing himself up.

—spider sense —

Followed by a smooth backflip, and a loud bang.

Max had shot himself forward in the form of his familiar bolt of destruction, and Spiderman dodged, am action he didn't regret, seeing the destruction it caused to the building that was just unfortunately in the way.

"What are you exactly, some kind of electric man? No that's not cool. Yes I got it! Electro! You're Electro!" Spiderman yelled, throwing a fist up in mock triumph, as he quickly ducked in time to dodge a bolt.

"Just shut up you bloody insect!" Electro yelled in anger.

"Now I must correct you there, I'm not an insect—uhh!" A strong electric punch shut him up, as he rolled like a rag doll.

Electro smiled as he stood up, watching Spiderman crawl out of the rubble that has fallen on him.

"You're weak Spiderman, just give up."

"Weak? No you're the weak one. You're using your abilities for evil. You're aimlessly harming innocent people. That is weakness!" Spiderman said, anger evident in his voice. He smashed his fist on the ground, pushing himself up with anger. He was weak, injured, and his fingers felt numb and almost lifeless. His heart was beating like he was caught stealing from a woman's closet, and his vision was slowly becoming a blur. But he still stood up, and this greatly angered Electro.

With a ferocious snarl, Electro lunged forward, grabbing Spiderman's neck. He flew up to the sky, and let go of Spiderman, striking him down with a heavy blow and bolt.

The hero fell, and the battle was over.

Spiderman had lost.
