Caspian's POV
As we stepped out of the private jet, there were already cars lined up waiting for us, so we got in and I instructed the driver to start driving, and the drive to the red mist pack began, tho from the airport to the pack takes up to an hour or more, so while in the car I closed my eyes trying to cool my head a little bit before we arrive, because I know that when we arrive at the pack there'll be plenty of people trying to throw themselves at me since I'm the lycan king.
While taking a rest, we arrive at a mountain range and i knew we were already close to the pack, and it didn't take up to 30 minutes we were already at their border, as soon as the guards and warriors noticed my car, I asked the driver to stop and the warriors stepped closer to the car to have a better look at who was inside , and just then I rewind down the glass of the car, and i could hear gasps coming from the warriors who saw my face, and immediately they went on their knees and bowed down. One of the warriors which i assume might be the head warrior said.
"Your Majesty please forgive our ignorance, we had no idea you would be attending the Alpha John's son ceremony, so we didn't realize you were the one in the SUV and we were not notified of Your Majesty's attendance, please forgive us, we will open the gate immediately." He said.
"You don't need to apologize I understand why you stopped the car, and I know it isn't you fault either, I was the one who suddenly decided to attend on such a short notice without informing your alpha, so I don't blame any of you, you may rise". As soon as I said that, they immediately got up on their feet and as they were rushing to open the gate, I could see that they were still panicking because of my surprise attendance.
Tho this may have been the first time they physically saw me, there are two reasons they could recognize me, one was due to my aura, i had an aura that makes people and their wolves submit immediately they set their eyes on me, and they could feel it deeply that I was the Lycan king, and secondly the fact that I'm a multi-billionaire, and a king in the business world, and they have seen my pictures on the magazine, news and internet, and the fact that most people who knew I was their king tend to spread rumors about seeing me, so even those that see me for the first time, will recognize me immediately.
As the car starts moving, I heard Nolan and Abel talking.
"Wow, who would have thought alpha John trained his warriors well, i had thought since their alpha was an *ss, then the pack members and warriors will be just like him, because if a leader leads by bad example the people ought to follow him, but even tho alpha John doesn't lead by good example, his people are still responsible, I'm really impressed, I can't wait to see what awaits us in the next 24 hours or so we will be spending here." Abel said .
Nolan starts laughing and replied, "That's why you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover, alpha John is a book with a dirty cover but his people might be different from him, he's such a despicable, heartless and disgusting man." Nolan said.
"I wonder how such a man became an alpha, I mean, if I had known he was like that long ago, I would have denounced him as the alpha of the pack long ago, and his pack members won't have to suffer this much from such a shity man." I said.
"Cas it isn't your fault or anyone's fault, so you shouldn't beat yourself over this." Nolan says.
"That's right Cas, you can't blame yourself, no one saw this coming, and you weren't yet the king when he became an alpha, and we know how hard it has been on you all this years, taking over as the king from your father and looking over all the packs so you shouldn't think much about this". Abel says
"Yeah I understand, it's just that I had no idea this was going on for a very long time, but maybe if I had been thorough enough, and worked harder on my duties as the king, this wouldn't be happening now. After we leave Alpha John's pack tomorrow, we will have to go to other packs to see how they're all managing their people, and to be sure nothing shady is going on." I replied.
"Alright bro", both Nolan and Abel said in unison.
After ten minutes of driving, we could finally see the pack house. The pack house stands like a fortress, it's exterior walls constructed from rough-hewn stone and blackened timber, as if forges from the darkest depth of the forest. Iron bars reinforce the windows, casting a prison-like shawdow on the ground below. Tho the decorations made were beautiful, but if looked properly one could see how intimidating the pack house looks.
"So it seems alpha John rules with fear, no wonder the warriors we met at the borders had fear written all over their faces, and they started panicking when they saw it was his Majesty in the car." Nolan says
"I wonder what he used the money to do, maybe to build a harem since he has so many mistresses, I really pity the pack members." Abel says.
"It is said alpha John made a pit of business from his businesses, but now I'm beginning to wonder if it was from his shady business and if it went under." I replied.
"We are here your Majesty." The driver said.
As we stepped out of the car, I could see the Alpha and luna standing in front of the pack house with some warriors and maids, "I think the warriors at the border mind linked him", I said to Nolan and Abel, and they smirked.
Then Nolan mind linked me and replied, " I guess he doesn't want to get on your bad side", from the side of my eyes I could see both Abel and Nolan trying to hold in their laughter, and I just smirked.
"Your Majesty" The alpha, luna and the rest present bowed and greeted.
"Alpha john I hope I'm not intruding on your son's special day or causing you any problems since I decided to attend on such short notice without informing you, I said while looking at him.
"O..of course not your Majesty, you're welcome here anytime, you don't have to inform me whenever you wish to come here", I could see him sweating and rubbing his hands together, I could feel his nervousness, I guess he didn't have enough time to impress me, that's why he seems so nervous.
From the corners of my eyes I could see the luna, she's a beautiful woman in her early 40's but because of the depression she went through I could see in her face that she has stress mark under her eyes, when she's supposed to be enjoying her prime, since she's in the best stage of her life, but it looks like she aged a decade more. Then I turn to her and said
"Luna Aurora nice to meet you, I've heard a lot about you." I present my hand for a handshake and I could feel she's nervous, but I smile at her, and it seems she doesn't feel nervous anymore, even tho her husband is such a cunning wolf, she still did her best and took care of the pack affairs in the shadows, but the alpha always takes credit for the work his Mate does, such a shameless man.
"Your Majesty you flatter me." but this time she smiles and it reaches her eyes.
I could feel alpha John's jealousy and I smirk and turn to his side, " Alpha John the moon goddess really blessed you by making such a beautiful and caring lady your mate, you're really a lucky man I said to him, I could sense he's uncomfortable.
"Thank you your Majesty, indeed I'm lucky to have such loving, strong and responsible lady as my mate and luna, and I'm grateful to the moon goodess, because she's all I ever need as a mate and luna." he replied with a forced smile that didn't reach his eyes, but I could hear the venom in his voice as he says that, it's as if he just spoke an abomination.
"Of course, I'm glad you know and realize, so you should treasure her more." I replied and his face contorts in anger, I could see my gamma and delta trying to hold in their laughter, and it's truly contagious because I almost burst into laughter myself, but I had to hold it in so much that my stomach hurts.
Then I roam my eyes around and I could see some ladies dressed so extravagant and almost half naked, and I assume they're his misstress, but I pay them no mind, then I spot some children, about 7 of them 4 are almost the same age, then three are a year or 2 younger than the 4 standing, but I could still differentiate the luna's son from the rest because he's definitely his mother's carbon copy, he has her eyes, nose and lips, then his father's hair.Then I walk up to him and say
"Alfred right?." Then he looks at me in both shock and surprise then replied with a bow
"Your Majesty it's and honor to be in your presence, then I tell him to raise his head and he does.
"Congratulations, I guess today is your day", I say with a smile." , while I ignore the other members of alpha John's family.
"Thank you your Majesty".
Then I nod and move back to the alpha and say, "Where do we stay?. My warriors need to keep our bags and rest."
"Right here Your Majesty" then he leads the way and starts heading to the pack house. And as he shows me around before taking us to the rooms we will be staying, I notice that every room reeks of the alphas's dominance, each space designed to intimidate, control, and crush the spirits of those within. This is a place where hope goes to die, where fear reigns supreme, and the pack is held hostage by the alphas's despicable whims.
Then we move up to the main wing where the alpha's family reside, then he shows me to my room, it was big and just like a presidential suit, but a bit smaller, as I enter I close the door and look around, then I sit down on the sofa close to the bed. My beta, gamma and warriors have been led to their rooms too, I mind linked them and said, "We all have about 6 hours to rest before the ceremony starts and so by 8 we should be prepared and ready."
"Yes your Majesty." They said in unison.
Then I blocked my mind link because i wanted to rest without any disturbance. I got up from the single sofa I was sitting on and headed to the bathroom, I took my time taking my cold bath and after 30 minutes i came out feeling refreshed, then I dried my hair and wore a black t-shirt and a blue trouser then I layed on my bed and before I knew it, I dozed off.
I woke up just when the time was few minutes to 7 in the evening then I got up, took my bath, then I got dressed.
I was wearing a tailored, black leather jacket with intricate silver threading, resembling the night sky or the supernatural realm.
A crisp, white dress shirt with a subtle, textures pattern, evoking the moons gentle glow.
Dark fitted trousers with a thin, silver stripe running down the sides, hinting at my supernatural heritage.
Black polished boots with an understated, silver buckle shaped like crescent moon.
A simple, yet elegant, silver watch with a subtle, pulsing glow.
A slim, black tie with a delicate, silver pattern, adding a touch of sophistication
A black, leather belt with a silver buckle, adorned with a small, glowing gemstone, representing my royal status.
Around my neck, I wore a delicate, silver pendant in the shape of a stylized, supernatural symbol, (a crescent moon). My eyes gleam with an otherworldly intensity and my presence is accompanied by an aura of quiet power and authority.
After dressing up, I proceeded with a deliberate, calculated pace, exuding an aura of confidence and authority. I take a moment to survey my surroundings, my eyes scanning the pack house with a mixture of curiosity and scrutiny. Satisfied with my observations, I nod to myself and begin my descent to the celebration.
