Astrids POV
Today is the day of the packs celebration, and It's been two weeks since I was beaten by agnes. And today is also the full moon. The alpha's son will be turning 18 today, and it's also my 18th birthday too .
For the past two weeks my wolf has been talking about us escaping and I have been thinking about it, because today I can finally transform to my wolf Akira, she's so excited for her first run, tho I heard the first time shifting is a bit painful but if I have my mate there with me it'll be bearable and less painful. After my first shift it would be less painful but still Akira and my excitement overpowers the fear of my first shift.
Agnes did not touch me for the past two weeks and I'm surprised, because everytime she gets any opportunity she uses it to hit me, but I'm glad my body doesn't hurt anymore from the last beating she gave me, although the scars have healed but some are still there almost faded completely, and I think if I can be able to shift tonight my scars might be fully healed, because my wolf would be able to use her powers to some extent.
While lost in my thought I heard someone calling me.
"Astrid! Astrid!", and I look up to see one of the omega named sophia standing in front of me, I didn't even realize when she came up to me, because I was thinking.
"Yes!" I replied.
"The head maid told me to tell you to be fast in washing because you'll be part of those preparing the foods and rooms for the guest coming for todays celebration, she also said you should first clean the guest rooms before coming to the kitchen."
"I'm almost done, I will head there immediately", I said and then she walked away.
Although most omegas act like I don't exist, while some just hate my presence and also hate me for no reasons, but Sophia is the former, I don't think we've ever exchanged words before and today is the first, if it wasn't that agnes sent her to tell me to hurry up, she wouldn't have spoken to me.
While hurrying up to finish my work, some omegas were whispering and some were laughing at me, maybe they were thinking I would get beaten again by agnes but I ignored them and then finish my work.
30 minutes later, I was already on my way to the guest rooms which was located on the upper floors, away from the main living areas, after I finished cleaning the guest rooms immediately, I checked the time and saw it's been two hours and the time is 9:55 am, so I rushed out of the room and was thankful that there was no one in the hallway, and I immediately returned the broom, mop and bucket I used in cleaning the room, and headed to the kitchen where the foodstuffs which is used to prepare for the guests who will be arriving later in the evening are kept.
The pack members are already preparing and decorating the celebration area. We are preparing a traditional, hearty feast for the alphas's son. We started the food preparation by 10am. Chopping, marinating, and the rest and we finished by 12pm. Then by 12pm to 2pm, we started cooking, roasting and boiling. From 2pm to 4pm, we started the final preparations which was seasoning, garnishing and by 4pm to 6pm, The food was ready, and we started setting up the serving area.
We finalized decorations by adding any last minute touches to the celebration area, such as candles, flowers, and ceremonial items. Then we prepared for the alphas's arrival, we ensured the alpha's seat was ready, and their favorite foods and drinks are available.
Then the pack members took their designated roles, such as servers, musicians, and guards. But I wasn't allowed to participate because I was nothing more than a slave to them, so instead they told me to hide my face and make sure not to be seen inorder not to cause problems.
So I headed to my small cabin that is located in the forest, far from the pack house. My cabin has holes, and leaks water when ever rain falls. As the guests arrived, pack members went to greet them, they offered refreshments, and encouraged mingling.
While we were cooking the omegas were spreading rumors about the lycan king being here, but I don't know if that is true, because it's just a rumor, but if it's true then this will be the first time the king is attending the red mist pack celebration, normally he sends his entourage instead of coming directly here, but no one knows if it's true.
I know what his Majesty looks like, I've seen him on magazines, and I know he's very handsome. I also know I probably won't be able to see him because I'm not attending and even if I see him it's not like he's going to take notice of an orphaned human slave girl like me, as I was thinking about this my heart hurt a bit and I didn't understand why, and Akira let out a small whimper, which made me regret bringing the topic of the king up.
Earlier in the morning today which was my 18th birthday, I was feeling a mix of excitement, nervousness, and instinctual urges but i tried not to let it show because i didn't want anyone to notice anything weird about the way i was behaving.
As I was getting to my cabin I started feeling restless. My senses began to heighten, and my body temperature started to rise, I could hear the music, dancing and ceremonial activities, which means the alpha has arrived and the celebration has officially begun and the time was 10pm.
By 11pm my body began to change, my muscles flex and my bones shifted. That was when I knew the transformation process has began. I could feel my muscles flex and contort, causing discomfort and pain, and I could also feel my skeletal structure change, my body tissues started to shift and adapt, leading to feelings of burnings with extraordinary pains that erupted throughout my body making me collapse and I started breathing heavily, and I let out a loud scream which thankfully was overshadowed by the loud music.
My senses became heightened and I felt overwhelmed by the intensity of my new surroundings. And at 12 am, I completed my first shift, emerging as a golden wolf under the full moon's light. My senses completely expanded and I felt a surge of power and freedom. After shifting, I felt exhilarated, with a newfound connection to my wolf side.
Akira's pov
As I emerged from my human form I could feel Freedom, my body stretches, and my senses expand. I'm no longer confined by human limitations. My muscles flex, and my claws extend. I'm strong, capable and ready to run.
The world comes alive with new sights, smells, and sounds. Every sensation is heightened, and I drink it all in. My thoughts clear, and my instincts take over. I feel an overwhelming sense of happiness and belonging. I'm meant to be a wolf, and I'm finally free to be one. As I take my first steps,I feel the earth beneath my paws, the wind in my golden fur, and the moon's gentle pull. I'm one with nature, connected to the land. I sniff the air, and the scents are intoxicating, the sweetness of blooming flowers, the earthiness of damp soil, and the musk, I howl, and the sound echoes through the forest, a declaration of my presence and my joy.
I'm no longer confined by human thoughts or worries. I'm a wolf, wild and free, with the world at my Paws. I'm a Golden she wolf, I possess extraordinary strength, speed and wisdom, I'm rare, a majestic creature. I'm larger than average, I'm massive. My fur shines like gold in sunlight, with piercing blue eyes and a regal demeanor. And I know I possess enhance strength, speed, agility, and the power to heal.
Meanwhile someone stood there frozen by the sight before them, Astrid and Akita unaware of the eyes which has been watching as she shifted to her wolf.
Astrid's pov
After Akira gave me control and i shifted back to my human form, Just then I perceived the most heavenly scent I have ever perceived, that's both captivating and regal. A warm, intense aroma, adding a sweet, velvety sandalwood, symbolizing power and wisdom.
This scent was so intoxicating, drawing me in with it's warmth and depth. As I catch the scent, I feel a surge of excitement and longing, a sense of safety and protection, a deepening of our emotional bond, a primal urge to be close to him, to feel his warmth and presence.
And as i turn around to where I perceive the most amazing, intoxicating and heavenly scent, our eyes meet, and I'm standing in the presence of the most handsome, greek God like ,"He's the epitome of masculine perfection, with a chiseled jawline that could cut glass, piercing gold eyes that sees right through to my soul, and a strong, muscular build that makes my wolf want to swoon. His presence is like a warm, golden light that illuminates everything around him, making him the most captivating, handsome, and s*xy being I have ever laid eyes on." , his scent wash over me, but this time with full force like a wave, leaving me breathless and intrigued, and I feel an instant attraction, and a deep, unshakeable sense of connection, as if I've known him forever, and i knew instantly what he meant to me, he was my mate, he was mine, he was my everything, and i couldn't believe he is standing in front of me with such longing, love, admiration and protectiveness in his eyes. And the next thing I knew, I heard the one word I so wished to hear all my life.
And as he calls out to me, his voice was like a thunder on a summer day, resonating deep within my soul. "MAAAATE" it was spoken with a tone that's both commanding and tender, echoing through the forest like a primal claim. The word vibrated with an otherworldly energy, speaking directly to my heart and awakening a deep, primal recognition within me. I felt the weight of his claim, the certainty of his declaration, and the thrill of being chosen by this powerful, supernatural being. In that moment, I knew that my life is forever changed, I am bound to this king by forces beyond my understanding, and that my destiny is inextricably linked to his.
