The invisible fire inside the broken reactor was so incredibly hot that it didn't even look like fire anymore. It was just a blinding, angry white light.
Adonis watched from the doorway, his heart pounding in his massive chest. He held his breath as General V-05 took another heavy, dragging step toward the center of the room.
V-05's thick, gray metal armor was melting. It dripped off his broad shoulders and splashed onto the glowing floor like silver rain. Every step was a terrible struggle, but the brave Eastern Warlord did not stop. His dim red eyes were locked onto the beautiful, pulsing green light of the Genesis Pearl sitting on the stone pedestal.
V-05 reached out his trembling, melting hand. He wrapped his thick metal fingers around the warm, glowing green stone.
"I have it," V-05 grunted, his voice box sparking and hissing from the terrible heat.
With a mighty pull, V-05 lifted the Pearl off the pedestal.
