The morning sun was trying to peek over the snow-covered trees, but the air inside the little timber cabin felt heavy and sad.
Adonis stood by the door, ready to leave. He was not wearing a winter coat. His massive body was covered in his beautiful, marbled black-and-white armor. He looked like an unstoppable king, ready to march into the darkest corner of the world.

Nikki looked so incredibly tired. Her bright red hair was a little bit messy, and her skin was very pale. The terrible, invisible poison inside her was making her weaker every single day. Little Leo was asleep in his giant, shiny titanium crib in the corner, completely unaware that his mother was sick.
Adonis walked slowly over to the bed. He knelt down on the wooden floor, gently taking Nikki's small, fragile hands in his large, cool metal ones.
