Chapter 5 - CHAPTER FIVE First Clash

First Clash

It didn't take long before Adora felt the first real test of her reputation.

She was walking down the corridor, backpack slung low, hoodie pulled up, when a tall girl with perfectly polished hair and a sharp uniform stepped in front of her. Arms crossed, eyes narrowed.

"You're the new girl, right?" the girl said, voice cool and calculated. "I hear you think you can just walk here and… stand out?"

Adora tilted her head, smirking. "Yes, that's me. And if you don't move, I will walk right past you." She grinned, then muttered under her breath with a playful twist: "No vex, I dey talk small wahala."

The girl blinked, clearly not expecting this fearless energy mixed with a hint of Nigerian sass. "What… did you just say?"

Adora shrugged casually. "Just saying, don't block my way. Nothing serious."

A small crowd had started gathering, drawn by the tension. Whispers ran like wildfire: "That's the Nigerian girl!" "She doesn't look afraid of anyone!"

The tall girl took a step closer. "You think you're funny?"

Adora raised an eyebrow, leaning forward just slightly, hands in her hoodie pockets. "Funny? Maybe. But I'm serious about one thing—don't try me. Abi you wan see?"

Some students gasped. Others chuckled. Adora's aura was magnetic—bold, unapologetic, and impossible to ignore.

The tall girl frowned, muttered something in Chinese, and finally stepped aside. Adora winked at the onlookers. "See? Adora doesn't fear anyone," she said, letting a tiny "I dey tell you true" slip under her breath for effect.

She strutted down the hallway, each step radiating confidence. Wordlessly, the crowd parted, curious, nervous, but undeniably impressed by the Nigerian tornado in their midst.

Sitting on the bench near the classrooms, Adora pulled out her notebook and scribbled quickly:

Bold, brave, and unapologetically Adora.

Yes, this was her motto. Yes, she lived it every day.

And if the school thought she would be quiet, obedient, or easy to intimidate… they had another thing coming.
