Chapter 18 - "Uninvited Guests Crashing The Poorty"

BOOM!

A huge explosion without fire appeared out of the blue and the whole arena was shaking so much that dust and sand rose all the way to the ceiling!

"Ah! What the hell— "

"Is it an earthquake??"

"No, no, look over there!"

The audiences subconsciously looked at the source of the earthquake and when they saw the scene, the audiences screamed in horror.

"What's that?? A big hole??"

The center of the arena actually burst open, leaving behind a huge hole!

But right after the explosion and the emergence of a strange hole, a magic barrier slowly rose from the ground, forming a barrier.

The bright blue light separated the arena from the audience's seats so that none of the dust and sand could even reach the audience seats.

The arena's staff and servants immediately rushed to the audiences, trying to calm their customers.

"Calm down, everyone! The barrier is safe! Please stay in your seat! We are safe!"

"Hey, what about the fighters? They're still in the arena!"

Some of the braver audiences looked at the arena that was now full of sand and dust, obstructing everyone's view.

Even the torchers at the arena's wall had all been extinguished, leaving only the torchers and oil lamps at the audience seat.

The arena suddenly descended into darkness and no one could see what was going on there.

"W-we are deploying reinforcements to check the arena and the fighters!" The staff hurriedly explained.

"Please trust our arena! We are a legal and honest battle arena! We care about our fighters' safety too!"

The two mysterious twins at the VVIP seat also stood up from their seats while their servants scurried around.

"Ask for the guards to come! Check the arena!"

"Where's the mages? Make sure the barrier is intact!"

"Ask some of the audience if they can help us too."

"Yes, masters!"

The servants all ran around, rushing to go down the audience's seat and headed backstage.

They could only enter the arena through the back door!

The twins looked down at the dark arena and their faces darkened.

"Brother, to think that something would happen in our arena..."

"Sister...just what the hell was that explosion? There's no flame at all, it can't be the fire archer's doing."

"Brother, there's something wrong with the atmosphere. My natal spirit is warning me of danger."

"Hm, my natal spirit too..."

The two mysterious people tried hard to see the figure of the fighters at the arena and they could only barely see the silhouettes.

One human silhouette, two, three, four...

One beast silhouette, two, three, four, five, six, seven—"

Wait, wait, what the hell? How come there are so many beast silhouettes?

Counting the pig spirit, the wolf spirit, the cat spirit and the fluffy furball, there should be only four beast silhouettes!

How come...there are more??

Yeah, how come there are more?

Castra looked at the blurry shadows jumping out of the center of the arena and he almost doubted his eyes.

The others were also stunned for a few seconds before they reacted.

"Barbeque! Wolfie! Come back!"

"Poop shovelel! Mistel cat! Come hele!!"

Both Mario and Cecily called out their summon spirits and the scattered spirits immediately rushed to their summoner's side.

The two groups standing opposite of each other stared at the blurry mysterious figure that came out of the hole.

"One, two, three..."

Castra counted the number of blurry shadows that jumped out of the hole and the more he counted, the more he lost count.

Too...too many to count! And these things moved so fast!

The clouds of dust and sand made it difficult to see, but Garfin gently blew the air and the murky cloud gradually settled, slowly showing the figures of the things that kept coming out of the holes.

The moment Castra saw the clear picture, his heart skipped a beat.

Cold sweat slowly dripped down Castra's cheek and he could feel his hands and feet slowly becoming cold.

"Dear summoner, this...this..."

Cecily swallowed her saliva as she hid behind Castra, acting as if she wasn't the greatest summoner in her past life.

"Yes, Poop shovelel. I...think I know what these things ale...."

Garfin was also familiar with those shadowy figures.

With a swish, his nails had already popped out of his paws.

"Meow. Those are...monsters, meow!"

The audiences saw the monsters pouring out of the big hole at the center and they froze on the spot.

For a few seconds, silence filled the arena until a scream broke the calm before the storm.

"M-monsters!!!"

"Ahhhh!! Run!!"

The audiences all scrambled away from their seats, rushing towards the four exits.

"Go! Go! Go to the exit! The magic barrier can't hold back such a lot of monsters!"

"Ah! Ah! Don't push around!"

"Staff! Staff! Someone is injured here!"

"Help! My cockroach fainted!"

The staff scurried around to save the audiences while the twin owners of the arena strode down the audience seat, heading towards the closed arena.

"What the hell! Brother, there are no such monsters in our arena! Those aren't runaway monsters!"

"Sister, if those monsters aren't ours, then they..."

They came from the outside?

But how??

Their arena was well protected!

"...underground. Brother, they came from underground."

That's the only place that they couldn't protect!

A chill went down the man's spine and a sense of crisis struck.

"If it's wild monsters...we have to save the summoners!"

"Open the gate and let the summoners leave the arena!"

The twins wanted to enter the arena, but the arena's manager and the staff suddenly ran towards them with pale faces.

"Young master, young miss! Bad news! The magic barrier is malfunctioning and now, no one can enter the arena unless the barrier is broken!"

"What?? How could this be??"

"T-the earthquake broke the magic circle underground..."

"Okay, okay, where are the mages? Fix the barrier now!"

"The mages and some of the audience are trying to fix the barrier, but it will take time..."

"How long?"

"That...we can't say for sure."

After all, fixing a magic circuit wasn't an easy feat.

Hearing the bad news, the twin sister held her forehead and groaned.

"Ughhhh, if news comes out that two summoners died in our arena, our small arena will be finished!"

"Young master, young miss, I-I believe the two summoners can hold on until the barrier is fixed and the reinforcement comes..."

Still...

"Does this mean those precious summoners will be trapped with monsters for God knows how long??"
