Arc 1 Chapter 9 We are Family
The air was hot no...it was blazing, the air itself could scorch you dry and the ground beneath his feet turned into lava puddles, the atmosphere around him was angry and the flames in his body danced with passion and aggression, his body was filled with patterns and the were more than last time, his eyes were blank and his expression was neutral but behind that face was unstoppable rage that was fueling his flames and his physical abilities have increased far beyond and his speed was that of sound but even with this much gap in abilities, Alex or berserk Alex still couldn't kill this villain which he has been brawling with ten minutes but for the villain, Rox it felt like ten hours, yes it was a one sided slaughter and battle techs, magic skills and hard blows were thrown left and right but both of them were not going down.
Sion: that shadow guy is lasting longer than I thought.
Rachel: normally I would say it was the steel wall LV10 that he activated long ago but I don't think it's working, matter of fact it was useless from the start.
Albert: the same happened for Lucia when she was training him, anyways can somebody get this stone off my shoulder.
Rachel: yeah hold on this might take some time.
Sion: I'll help, since Albert is the only one who can stop Alex now.
Rachel: thanks um...
Sion: it's Sion Grey and the angry dude over there is Alex um...
Albert: it's okay you can tell her.
Sion: Alex Ember
Rachel: Ember? As in the Ember clan! The Royal family of Gura!
Sion: yep and I'm his friend and servant.
Rachel: no way! Are you saying that you're a servant of a royal! How should I refer to you, like sir or sir knight or lord?
Sion: I'm just his servant not a big deal.
Rachel: What!!! Not a big deal! Working side to side with a royal is the highest position a noble can have! Let alone a commoner.
Sion: really? I never thought of that. I was just always there for him and helped him when he needed my help and we used to sleep on the same bed when we were kids and we still sleep in the same room soo...i never saw it like that.
Rachel: geez.
Albert: yeah to Alex and Sion it was never about status, they are just good friends, but you gotta hurry about the stone cuz I can't let Alex kill the shadow guy atleast not like this.
Rachel: yeah we're close!
While Albert was getting the Amu's stone removed from him, Alex was dominating Rox with level 10 fire type magic and battle tech and the reason Rox was able to stand his ground was because he was absorbing some of Alex's spells with his [shadow glutton LV1], yes something he learned mid-battle and was keeping him alive for the time being.
While Rox was defending, Alex finally broke through his magic and started landing battle techs one after another on Rox and he couldn't keep up anymore and got overpowered quick and when Alex was planning to continue this onslaught, [giant lightning LV15] and just like that Alex was struck by lightning and Alex turned backwards to see Albert who was standing there finally free of Amu's stone effects. Alex charged at Albert shifting his attention away from Rox.
Albert: (sigh) you didn't even think twice huh? That makes me a little bit sad... But anyways [deep freeze]
Right when Alex was about to reech Albert, he found himself frozen in a huge block of ice and he couldn't move nor his flames were able to melt the ice and he was completely immobilized.
Albert: well here goes that and now about the shadow guy.
Sion: wait hold on...please release Alex!
Albert: hah! Yeah this is no time to joke around.
Sion: I'm serious...please release him.
Albert: are you fucking with me right now? Look at him, the moment I release he finna kill somebody.
Sion: I know that but...still I don't wanna do things like this... I don't wanna (sobbing) detain him, seal his power, wary of him or tying him down with chains or ice... Well FUCK THAT! I wanna help him like a normal person and I don't want him feeling guilty of something he was born with or be afraid of him for something he never wished for he's entire life and if you think you can't help him, then i I'll do it on my own.
Albert: ok stop crying it's weird coming from you.
Sion: I'm not crying, it's called emotional blackmail.
Albert: you little... (annoyed) anyways you're on your own cuz I gotta look after Lucia and Rachel which means if you die it's on you.
Sion: I won't die because I believe in Alex and you should cuz he's your family too.
Albert:..... Good luck.
Sion: I don't need it ( geez I almost cried right after I promised Alex I won't cry in front of others besides him)
Rox:.... (this is my chance to escape)
Albert: [chain seal] you're not going anywhere.
Rox: sure boss! (I'm fucked).
Albert: go and do what you gotta do kid.
Sion: thank you.
Sion ran in front of the ice block where Alex was immobilized and gave a signal to Albert to release the mana on the ice and after Albert's mana was completely gone, the ice melted and at the same time Lucia was slowly waking while bieng held by Rachel. Finally Alex was released from the ice and he stared at the Sion in front of him and stood there as in a staring contest.
Sion: I don't know what happened to you or what made you like this but I want to help you, you said something about the darkness right? Well I'm here as your light inside the darkness and not only me, you got Albert, Lucia, Mr Lynn and I even hear Rachel has a crush on you so... You're not alone and the darkness doesn't exist it's just an illusion standing in the way of your fate and bright crimson hair that you're always proud of, so please take my hand and snap out of it cuz this night has been emotional enough for the two of us.
Alex:... Si... Sion?
Albert: well ain't that a bitch? He spoke!
Sion: and you know what Mr Lynn said?
Alex and Sion: We don't fear the darkness! We light it up!
Alex: those are not exactly my father's words, it was just a clan thing... Wow I have tattoos all over my body! And they are fading away? Don't tell me I went berserk again!
Sion: don't worry about it, anyway you looked Hella cool!
Rachel: well I know I don't stand a chance against him.
Albert: Ay? Alex is not Homo and I doubt he'll reject you.
Rachel: yeah but look them, that kind of thing will make anyone jealous don't you think?
Albert: yeah I guess you're right.
Lucia: yeah it's making me miss Rose too.
Albert and Rachel screamed in surprise as Lucia was already standing up on her two feet right behind them.
Rachel: wow you scared the hell out of me!
Lucia: (smirk) sorry.
Rachel: you're not sorry at all!
Lucia: how's it been Rach?
Rachel: I should be the one asking you that!
Lucia: a little bit shaken I guess?
Rachel: you've gone through something like that so of course you are.
Lucia: well the academy's battle exam was worse.
Rachel: well anyways it looks Alex is back to normal.
Albert: huh? He didn't faint this time?
Lucia: see there was nothing to be serious about.
Albert: you never told me that
Lucia: I intended to.
Rachel: yeah but that guy has already broke your chain seal.
Rox: you finally noticed me? Well I have recovered enough mana.
Albert: do you think you stand a chance against me?
Rox: nope but I don't think I have the option to run.
Albert: do you have any last words or regrets?
Rox: last words, not much but regrets many.
Albert: really now?
Rox: yeah but it's not something I can talk about with you.
Albert: understandable. Are you ready to settle the score Alex? Sion?
Alex and Sion stood next to Albert for the final attack against Rox who was still weakened and only had enough mana.
Alex and Sion: Yeah! Trio attack!
Albert released a wave of lightning attacks on Rox which ultimately broke his aura defense and crashed on him and Sion charged his lightning kick LV4 and Alex charged his fire punch but something was different and Alex remembered what he's father said in that moment twelve years ago.
