its popularity mainly came from the fact that its unique class feature, where there were custom classes that players could pick based on how proficient they are in other aspects of their class.
An example of this would be a magic swordsman. a regular swordsman is proficient in his skill by perfecting his sword techniques, but a magic swordsman combines his proficiency in magic to become a magic swordsman. there are many archtypes of this like Battlemage, Magus, Spellsword and Eldritch Knight.
You're probably gonna get bored if i keep rambling about all this. So, let me introduce myself:- My name is Devyn Hardy and i've been playing this game for the past 9 months after its release. Im an avid fan of RPGs and VR really brings that feel out for me.
I enjoy difficulty in games, as i can work hard and level up to be able to defeat monsters and the bosses in the games. However, this game is just not what i'd expected.
This game is fucking difficult. Now, it sounds like im coping and that i have a skill issue but i promise you that im not lying. you know that number of times that i thought i was close to finishing the game but it never even happens.
I usually end up dying to a mid-tier ranked boss because the creators of the game added mad buffs to make the bosses OP as fuck.
Im fighting a mid-tier boss as usual and drop almost instantly.
"yeah fuck this shit." i say to myself as i close the game before walking out of my room and i decide to take a calm walk though the gardens present outside of my apartment. the south winds and the smell of wet and damp grass after a day of irrigation actually does wonders to the human mind.
As i keep walking, i notice the air suddenly getting cold and my instincts almost telling me that something is off. "This air feels really strange. It feels like im about to be experiencing a whole new thing again" i think to myself as i get the jitters.
Suddenly, a whirling mass of blue opens up right above me and before i could say anything, a powerful force picks me up and into the whirling portal. I saw a faint pull through the portal before going fully unconscious.
i do not remember anything else that had happened after that.
Waking up i saw that i was in a sort of glitchy, jittery white room. i looked up in front of me, as i saw a presence of someone sitting in a chair next to me.
the figure wore a suit and tie and had red hair with a spock rock haircut but his face was blackened and he had a question mark covering the features of his face.
He introduced himself as "The Administrator".
I just wanted to know where the hell i was, but the man somehow reading my mind had answered that i was in his personal game domain. He explains to me about how in this domain, he has the utmost power to control the aspects of the game.
i listened to every word he said and to say i was shocked and confused would be an understatement.
I was thoroughly shocked and had asked him how he knew me in the first place. He explained that being part of the game code, he was able to see many people play the game. he took a particular interest in me because i seemed to be absolutely dogshit at the game.
Ouch. come on man. Its not my fault that the game is catered to those hardcore gamers. im a casual fucking player, jesus. he then went on a rant on how other players had different ways of handling bosses but i just spammed and mashed the buttons. "You are going to meet other players in the game im about to send you to. you are never alone"
"okay? but you never explained why you're specifically picking me as a player?" i asked him wanting to get an answer.
"You will know soon enough. now, go. I dont have time to be chit-chatting with you like this."
That would be the last time i saw him, as the visuals before me turned black and a HUGE field of grass spread across miles had appeared right where i stood.
my mind was still stuck on the administrator as i wanted more answers but nope, just put me in with people i dont even know and see who comes out on top.
I genuinely believe the administrator only brought me to see me purely fail for his sake of entertainment. whatever, i'll show you who i am dude. they dont call me the tuff guy for nothing.
I need to start heading out.
all, im seeing is grass but there must be some village here. i need to keep walking further to see where i should even be at right now.
Im so lost, man. where the hell do i even go after this? whatever, i just need to get out of this farmland and find something ahead.
