Chapter 5: Two Ways to Use It, Evolution
Time flew by, and it was already the end of August.
The second semester of the Ninja Academy was about to begin.
Over the past few days, Yoru had figured out where the black Space-Time Chakra came from and what it could currently be used for.
Just as Senjutsu Chakra is a special energy formed by combining Chakra with natural energy,
Yoru's Space-Time Chakra was a product of the fusion of physical energy, mental energy, and Space-Time Power.
Unlike Senjutsu Chakra, which draws natural energy from the outside world into the body, Yoru's cells could secrete a special Space-Time Power.
However, Yoru discovered that only a portion of his cells could secrete Space-Time Power, and the amount was limited. Unlike physical and mental energy, which could be extracted from all 130 trillion cells in his body.
Cells don't undergo such changes without reason. Yoru initially speculated that there was something wrong with his heart.
The black heart projected in his mind might be hiding some secret.
But if there was a secret, logically, it shouldn't have taken so long to manifest, and it just happened to "activate" when he turned six.
Perhaps it wasn't his heart that was the problem, but... his soul that came to this world!
Regardless of which it was, it was beyond Yoru's current ability to investigate.
Moreover, Yoru had a premonition that the feeling resembling a precursor to sudden death might just be the beginning and would likely occur multiple times in the future.
Through experiments over the past few days, Yoru had discovered two uses for Space-Time Chakra at his current level of strength.
The first was intangibility. In fact, without manifesting Space-Time Chakra outside his body, Yoru could achieve intangibility.
As long as he formed hand seals to mobilize Chakra and allowed Space-Time Chakra to flow through his meridians, the areas with black Chakra could become partially intangible. If it could spread throughout his entire body, he could achieve full-body intangibility.
The second was for attacks, but it couldn't be used to perform ninjutsu, at least not yet.
He discovered that Space-Time Chakra could be used for attacks when he tried to draw the black Chakra from his body using his family's hereditary Chakra Blade.
And then...
The Armament Haki from the world of One Piece appeared in the world of Naruto.
The Chakra Blade in Yoru's hand actually turned into a Black Blade!
Moreover, it was an indestructible Black Blade. Unless an object contained rule-based power capable of opposing space-time, anything struck by Yoru would be cleanly split in two.
Yoru tested it himself—just lightly dragging the tip of the blade across the ground, whether it was bricks or the soil beneath, left a smooth, straight cut.
Shuriken, kunai, iron blocks, wooden training dummies, gemstones... no matter how hard the material, they were as fragile as thin paper before Yoru's Black Blade.
With every swing of his blade, Yoru's confidence doubled.
These two uses of Space-Time Chakra were practically a bootleg version of the dual Mangekyō Sharingan's Kamui.
Although Yoru currently needed to form hand seals to mobilize Space-Time Chakra and required some time for it to spread throughout his body—during which he couldn't move—
And although drawing Space-Time Chakra out of his body was extremely difficult and currently only possible with the help of a Chakra Blade, making it unusable for ninjutsu, Yoru had more than one method to solve these issues.
As long as he could overcome these limitations, he would become an invincible existence in both offense and defense until his Space-Time Chakra was exhausted!
This goal filled Yoru with immense motivation to grow stronger.

As usual, Yoru woke up at six and went for his morning run.
He didn't abandon physical training and foundational development just because he had awakened powerful abilities.
The original Obito served as the perfect negative example.
Despite inheriting Madara's ninjutsu and the Flame Formation, having half his body composed of Hashirama's cells, and possessing terrifying amounts of Chakra and ocular power, he could only fight Kakashi to a standstill when unable to use Kamui intangibility.
Yoru wouldn't rely solely on space-time abilities as Obito did. At least until his Space-Time Chakra increased enough to be used freely, he would only treat intangibility and Black Blade as his trump cards.
Without the ability to see through or mastery of sensory techniques, Yoru didn't know the standard Chakra capacity of ordinary genin.
However, when Sasuke performed the Great Fireball Jutsu in the original story, his Chakra amount amazed Kakashi, indicating that ordinary genin possessing enough Chakra to perform C-rank elemental ninjutsu was already remarkable.
And Yoru had already begun training in C-rank elemental ninjutsu. His Chakra reserves were completely sufficient to perform C-rank jutsu, and he could do so with ease.
This meant his Chakra capacity had long surpassed that of ordinary genin.
This was one of Yoru's few advantages.
Perhaps due to his transmigrator's soul being particularly strong, or maybe because of the Gojo family genes, or even the influence of the 'unknown' within him—his spiritual energy was exceptionally powerful. Combined with wealthy resources and systematic investment in physical training, his Chakra capacity far exceeded his peers.
In his first year, his Chakra already surpassed that of ordinary genin.
Space-Time Chakra accounted for one-third of his total Chakra reserves, possibly not less than the total Chakra of ordinary genin.
Even so, this amount of Space-Time Chakra was far from sufficient.
Because Yoru discovered that his cells could only extract this fixed amount of space-time energy. While he could continue extracting more after depletion, he couldn't break through the current upper limit.
This discovery delighted rather than worried Yoru.
Being able to replenish after depletion while having a fixed capacity—wasn't this precisely an invisible bottleneck?
If before this, Yoru still doubted whether that sudden-death-like feeling would reappear...
Now, he was one hundred percent certain that sensation would definitely return.
When it did, more cells in his body would become capable of extracting space-time energy.
When all cells could produce space-time energy, ordinary Chakra would be completely replaced by Space-Time Chakra. This ability would become a 'Kekkei Genkai', and Yoru might finally uncover the secret hidden within his body.
Therefore, Yoru named that sudden-death-like feeling—Evolution!

After finishing his morning training, Yoru returned home for a quick shower.
Standing before the full-length mirror, he pulled his zipper down to chest level, examining the reflection of a white-haired child with chubby cheeks, looking youthful and adorable in a blue jacket, white shirt, and black Bermuda shorts. He tilted his head slightly and grinned: "How cute!"
However, after turning around, Yoru resumed his expressionless demeanor.
With his hands in his pockets, he walked out of the house and headed toward the school.
Upon entering the school gate, students who had witnessed how Yoru fought or heard of his fearsome reputation stopped and moved aside.
Even so, Yoru did not let them off.
"Trash, what are you staring at?"
Meeting the eyes of the students who were secretly watching him, Yoru said coldly.
"S-sorry!"
His icy blue eyes seemed to radiate a bone-chilling coldness, frightening the students into trembling as they hastily apologized, then lowered their heads or turned away.
Wherever the school bully passed, no one dared to come close.
