The polished glass gave way in places to uneven terrain, and the ruins no longer looked purely abstract. Some of the broken geometries showed deliberate repetition—patterns that suggested streets, courtyards, the ghosts of plazas.
Nyx was the first to name it. "These weren't just ritual sites. Someone lived here."
Seris halted beside a half-buried arch whose inner surface still carried faint reliefs: figures walking beneath constellations that matched no sky Lior had seen, hands raised toward boundaries drawn like maps. "A civilization of the Between," they said. "Older than the current order of Thin Ones. Most records claim they vanished when the first great seals were laid. It appears the records were incomplete."
Kael scanned the horizon. "Vanished or withdrew?"
